[video/Eng subs][no Rain] Korea Army Training Center: JiHoon and his recruit-mates are in good hands.

Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^

Please watch this special video, sanctioned by the ROKA and hosted by MC Lee DongWook, which outlines the basic training regimen of all new recruits entering the South Korean Army.

Knowledge is power, dear Clouds and Rain fans. So with this, your minds should be more at ease concerning what JiHoon is learning as a soldier in boot camp. He is receiving world class training, he’s being well taken care of, and he will undoubtedly accomplish everything that is asked of him. We know of no reason that he couldn’t, even with the weather turning cold.

Do keep in mind that basic training was changed from five weeks to eight weeks this year. As we understand it, that was to be absolutely sure that every recruit had sufficient time to learn everything and be fully prepared for his job.

HUGE thanks to CloudUSAer Kongsao for the tip on this terrific video. And we also thank the ROK Army for releasing it.

he’s gone thru cold weather doing dramas and CF’s so I think he will be more prepared to deal with the cold than his fellow recruits mates. The thing that impressed me the must from that video was those medical facilities.

    • It seems that medical care is really good there.. but.. I hope there are same facilities in every bases.. In my post-communistic country, we know very well what propaganda is.. I am also thinking about hazing in ROKA. Is it normal phenomena there? I am not worried about Bi but I know it is one of the worst things in military life..

I think this is exactly what every Cloud needs to see. I am betting that most of them are feeling a little lighter now.

  9. Thanks for posting this video and thanks Konsao for getting it!! I feel much better now!! Seems to me that week 5 is the worst cuz they are gonna be outside, in the harsh cold. But Rain has gone thru that too, when he was in that cold apartment with his little sister and his sick mom. Also, he’s gone thru cold weather doing dramas and CF’s so I think he will be more prepared to deal with the cold than his fellow recruits mates. The thing that impressed me the must from that video was those medical facilities. They look amazing and ready to care for any injury, very cool! I am still a bit worried about his location but I hope that things stay as they have beeing for years, for this seven weeks and a half. I pray for peace in Korea, for Rain and his fellow recruits mates so they can finish their training safely. I can’t wait to see him with his family again!! That’s gonna be awesome!! Btw, love that tiger from the ROK logo!! Too cute!! Regarding the NatGeo part, OMG!! Rain would have soo much material for jokes!! LMAO!!!

  11. After viewing the video, I would say that the Korean boot camp experience is just about the exact same as the U.S. boot camp experience, from what I see and from what I’ve been told by hubbie. I was also reminded from the tape that there is a “end of boot camp” ceremony for family. So that’s when I’m sure that’s where the Korean media will be 8 weeks from now. I liked how they called them “young bloods.” (SMILES)

Umm…Stephe, that little “national geographic moment” at the end of the military tape (*other videos to view*)….tsk, tsk, tsk. That is SO something JiHoon would snicker about. (SMILES)

    • ROFLMAO!!! I thought, WTH?? Omona they didn’t. ROFL Heck yeah, he’d laugh his butt off and tweet it to Gori. Bet.

Yep, it warms my heart to think of how in eight weeks Kichun-ssi and Hana will be hugging Hoon on that field. Wahh! ❤ (And I feel REALLY sorry for the guys that have to shower at the same time as Hoon. Talk about giving somebody an inferiority complex — dang! *picture me trying to make the steam in the video moooove aside*)

      😉

      • Ooooh Yeeeaah!! This experience is bringing up SO many memories of what hubbie told me it was like. Yeah, it’s no joke having to shower all together like that and quite nerve wracking. I would hate to be a little “chubby” recruit having to shower next to him too, but you know they will be checking him out too. Not in a sexual way, but in a “do I ‘measure’ up” way. (SMILES) However, those who get to be around him now….OH WOW, they will get the inside scoop. He may not tell them all, but they will get at least some of the information we would be DYING to know. Cause if I was that close to him, you better know I would ask him everything I ever wanted to know. It’s up to him what to tell me or not tell me. (SMILES)

  12. I think extensive training is probably a good thing. I mean if I was one of the enlisted I would want to be damned sure my comrade in arms, standing next to me, knew how to handle his weapon. I’d be willing to bet there’s Nothing like having a toe shot off, cause somebody had “butter fingers” and let their weapon fall to the ground.

    • Exactly. It’s terrible in civilian life when you are rushed through training and then thrown somewhere and expected to do a great job. It sucks. And in the military it’s downright dangerous!

Sounds like a good thing to me, too.

    • Ha ha. You are exactly right. I had one similar experience a few years ago during military survival (i am a civilian girl) – one woman had “butter fingers” with grenade.. Thanks to brilliant reaction of our commander we all survived. It is really necessary to have well trained colleagues during military service. One stressed guy may kill dozens in few seconds..

  13. Enlightening video esp for those of us who have not seen or experienced life in the military. I must say that the ROK is well endowed in military aspects, therefore conclude that not only Rain but the whole men enlisted are in very good hands. We, more or less, have an idea what Rain is going through at this time; but of course since his training has been prolonged from 5 to 8 weeks, each course of training must have been extended or a separate course has been modified to specifically suit each soldier’s specialty or randomly selected training course. Rain’s training prior to Ninja Assassin may have been similar as far a strenuous activities are concerned. The obstacle courses are nothing new to Rain. We know that it’s hard, but who knows, to Rain, it’s piece of cake. Hahaha! ! ! Hope so.
Anyway, Rain, fighting ! You can do it…btw, Rain’s magnificent body will be on display again, but not for us to see…hehe….even men in uniform will envy him.
