해피 추석 (Happy Chuseok) to Rain, our readers, our Korean friends, and their families.
The Mid-Autumn/Thanksgiving holiday season begins in South Korea today and lasts for three days, with Mid-Autumn Day itself—추석 (Chuseok), originally known as 한가위 (Hangawi)—landing on the 12th this year. It is a time of much gift-giving, wearing traditional hanbok, visiting family, sharing large Chuseok suppers, paying homage to one’s ancestors and symbolically introducing the newest children in the family to those ancestors.
Many people began their holiday travels to their hometowns on Friday and started the mass exodus that they are all well used to experiencing around this time.
We wish everyone who celebrates Chuseok a wonderful holiday, and a safe return home if you’re traveling. We hope that JiHoon (regardless of where he is), Mr. Jung, Hana, and the General are sharing all the love they can muster this weekend. Hugs and cheers to the Men and Women behind the Man, and to MBLAQ, as they spend time with their precious ones as well.
Please enjoy these invaluable moments with family and friends, because when it comes down to it, they are the most important things we have and the only things we truly own.
Happy Chuseok!
