He should be confident, completely. Rain’s stint in the military will not be damaging in the least to his worldwide fan base or Hollywood’s interest in him. In fact, we’re going on record and saying that the next phase in his career will probably explode the moment he gets out. Rain is the master of reinvention and a man of many talents with much to offer the world.
Three endorsers just signed him on this year to be the face of their products, even though he’s military-bound… and why do you think they did that? Take the hint, folks! His star is set to shine for years and years to come, and they know that.
And yes, more than likely when he’s out, physically reconnected with his fans, added more pegs onto his Hollywood career, transitioned into mellowness and gotten even more gorgeous with time… that’s when he’ll get serious about settling down family-wise, around age 35 to 40. If then. Just a prediction, of course. 🙂

Rain looks forward to enlistment, confident of retaining superstar status
SHANGHAI: Korean singer-actor Rain revealed that he was not worried about losing his popularity after he enlists for National Service in Korea, during an appearance at a publicity event in Shanghai on Tuesday.
“Two years will pass by quickly. I believe after two years (of National Service), my fans will continue to support me.
“These two years are very important and meaningful to me. I will enjoy these two years in the armed forces and make myself stronger,” said 28-year-old Rain [international age ^@@^] who will have to serve his National Service obligations this year.
Rain received notice to enlist last year but successfully deferred his enlistment to the end of this year.
South Korean men are required by law to serve for 21 months in the armed forces and must enlist before they turn 30.
With the clock ticking, it is no wonder the Asian superstar is making the most of it – Rain is currently shooting his last film before enlisting, the war film “Red Scarf” where he plays a fighter pilot, and will embark on a concert tour during gaps in the filming.
His concert tour will see him perform in Beijing, Thailand as well as in Singapore on May 22.
It had been nine years since he made his showbiz debut and Rain is working harder than ever.
However, the “Full House” star hopes to take things slow in his 30s.
“I worked very hard in my 20s. I hope after I turn 30, I can have some time to myself and enjoy a more leisurely lifestyle, do things I want to do,” said Rain.
He also expressed that he would not rule out getting married and starting a family if he met the right girl, lamenting that “the right lady hasn’t appeared yet”.
If the right person came along, he would not hide their relationship like some stars but will instead go public with it.
“Actually, I tried it before. Evading the media is a very hard thing to do.
“It is better to let everyone openly photograph you than have people secretly take ugly photos of you,” said Rain.

OMG!! all that he just ticking me and I TOTALLY AGREED what he say this is real rain he is speaking to REPUBLIC YA… the man is HONEST to his goal and his acomplish in his hardworkking and what leading to his full success… what he say on this intertiew very bough me and rest of who ever rain fan and clouds will love him even more cozs rain still have his business min and thought with or without he around seeeeeeeeeeeeee now that what an inspiration he is !! no matter what happen to rain in or our in huis MS duty i will alway suporting him to end of this world yet… he know what before hand !!

I will always support him because he is JiHoon and he is awesome. Personally, I think his enlisting in the military will be a break for him. The man works himself ragged.

That’s my baby Boo!!! I love that he isn’t thinking about keeping his GF or bride out of his public life. Good for you Rain!!! I mean, the media is relentless and no matter what he do, they are gonna know who she is so its better to show her and be with her in the open. Regarding his career, his fans know that MS is unavoidable so they will wait for him. I only hope that the military let him do some public appearances or maybe concerts so he won’t be so out of the business when he comes back. They are giving Hyung Bin some slack so I expect no less for Rain. Just saying!!

wow i love the realness and honesty he spoke in this write up. it shows how sure he is of himself as a MAN and as a SUPERSTAR. he has solidified himself in the stars and WILL be the biggest star since michael jackson. i speak that will all confidence. ive been a fan of many artists my 22 years of life but none have ever had the presence, stayability, inspriation, transitionalization, (and a whole bunch of other “ILAZATION’ words i can think up. lol) like Rain has. you can see and feel his aura that eludes from him whenever he steps onto a stage. (you can feel it through the tv, lap top screen, and utube fan cams!) its quite mezmerizing and i am honored and happy that i get to brag that i was a fan of his years before he took over America!!!!
