고대 화정체육관에서
Rain was invited to Shinhan Bank’s celebration at the gym of Korea University around 5 this afternoon to perform live. He sang 4 songs, It’s Raining, Rainism, How to Avoid the Sun, and Hip Song.
It was said he even talked to the audiences. He said to one of the audience, “You look much older than I am. So I’m wondering, why do you call me ‘oppa’?” He then said, “Why do you speak ill of me? Just kidding!”
According to my friend, of course, he was so cool. she was really glad to see him again after a long interval.
I really regret not having gone after her when she asked me to join her.
Rain was the first guest to perform, probably due to another schedule (Malaysia F1 concert on Apr.10)

U should have gone I know i would have.

I was told “oppa” was just brother, and here in the states I say brother a lot. So if I called JiHoon brother just because I’m older that would be wrong? or is just saying oppa?

Oppa is what younger females call an older man who is either their blood brother, or a very close family friend, or their older boyfriend. Some women even continue to call their fiance “oppa,” and sometimes even their husband (though that is seen as immature and frowned upon). The key is the guy is older than you in Korean age, and is someone you know personally, someone you can go to in times of trouble and they will look after you, protect you, etc.
The exception I’ve seen is between Rain and his Asian fans. He and they have a “personal knowledge thing” between them. I’ve heard it come straight out of his own mouth, he greeted them at a mini-fan meet and said, “Ahhh. Oppa Rain is tired.” Calling himself their “big brother/protector”.

P.S.: Women who date younger guys, I’ve no idea. But I doubt they call them oppa. Anybody know?
