Yes, that’s our most humble JiHoon during MBC’s Section TV entertainment report on the 2nd Korea Seoul Art & Culture Awards, where he was honored with the 2011 SA&C award for World Star. He most certainly deserves the title, as he has made so many inroads and opened so many doors across the international arena for Koreans who may follow in his footsteps. JiHoon’s ambassadorships and philanthropy work across Asia, his sponsors and projects across Europe, his Green Globe awards, MTV award, and notable Hollywood roles in the U.S., and his film work and concerts across the world all speak volumes.
He has also dedicated much of his career to spreading himself to fans far and wide, which is why his international Rain fan base exists today. And it’s only going to grow. And grow.
Rain, are you ready for what comes next? 🙂

Rain is mostly joking around when he says this sort of thing. He’s talking about how, speaking in general in South Korea, sons grow up and quickly leave the nest and you hardly ever hear from them even when it comes to a phone call, while daughters stick close to home and are always looking after their moms and dads (heck, that’s not just in South Korea LOL). And so Rain figures that in his old age, if he has daughters, he will always be cared for and never alone, whereas his sons might leave him to languish. LOL
He’s just being funny. JiHoon would adore and love and absolutely dote on his children, all of them, whether they are girls or boys. 🙂

I agree I have always took his statement as he was just joking when he said sons are useless. Rain is just like anyone else where some people want boys and some want girls. However, regardless of what sex they have they will love thier kids. So if he has a boy I am sure he is going to still love his boy just as much as he would if he has a girl. Rain did say somthing like on that tv show that him and his father did not talk that much. That he felt daughters would be more closer to thier father.
I bet Rain relationship with his sister is awsome. Do anyone know how old she was when thier mother died.

Yes, Rain was joking. He has quite a sense of humor. (As do the boys of MBLAQ, which I wish everyone would realize…sigh.) I’m sure he will love all of his children, no matter what sex they are.
And yes, I’m sure Rain is a good big brother. I don’t know if their relationship is awesome. Sibling relationships are sometimes difficult, even if you love each other…I can’t remember how many years are between them. Does anyone else remember?

Rain, talking about his family is OH SO RARE. The only things I have Ever heard him say about his sister was that she was a “gangsta” (and I KNOW HE WAS JOKING). He said their conversations usually consist of “Oppa, I want this” and he usually says “How much?”…end of conversation. I laughed I thought it was so cute! The only time I heard him reference them both was to say that when he was little he was a Daddy’s boy actually, but now with his job (*and I’m paraphrasing*) he’s away all the time and doesn’t get to see or talk to his family much and he when they are together they don’t say much to each other. He did say that when he received the TIME magazine 100 honor, that is the first time his father told him he was proud of him.
He also said in an interview once that (at least at the time of the interview) that his sister had met a guy she really cared about and hoped to marry. Rain told the interviewer that he said to her, He’d like to meet him and maybe they (he and the guy) could sit down and share a drink together.
These are the ONLY moments I have either read about or heard him say during interviews on YT posted videos and these interviews were done a few years back. So until Bi ever decides to talk about his family publicly again (don’t hold your breath) this is as good as it will probably get.
