For those fans who have been waiting for news concerning the 8th Korean Cloud membership drive: The recruitment is scheduled to begin next week on the 21st and last for one month, until March 20. » The latest update on that can be found in our recent post HERE. As you can see in our post and in the latest notice from the 7th Cloud posted on other Rain sites, the hard details have yet to be released (details such as the exact fee amounts, exactly how to pay, exactly what individual information may or may not be required, etc.) but should be very shortly.
What everyone should know is this: 1) Becoming an official member of Rain’s official fan club is not a requirement for being a part of the Cloud USA community. That is a personal choice that each of you can freely make for yourselves based on comfort levels and finances, and you will not be judged for it. 2) The Cloud knows that their culture and ours are very different. We’ve shared a lot of info concerning those differences with them, and are continuing to do so. It’s a learning process for both sides. The PAYPAL setup is an encouraging sign. 3) Terri and I will be joining the 8th Cloud. It would be pretty ridiculous of us to provide you with Korean Cloud Fan Club information now if we weren’t comfortable enough to put our own money where our mouths are when it comes to supporting Rain. We’ve wanted to help our sisters in the U.S., who have already been official Clouds for a good while, bridge the gap between Rain’s Asian, North American, and European fans for a long time. Korea is extending a hand to the Americas and to Europe. Barring unforeseen circumstances or Acts of God, we’re going to take it and at least see what this year brings.
In other news… I’m going through severe RAINY DAY episode withdrawal. Aigoooooooo. 😦

Hi! I am going to Rain’s concert in Dresden in May. And I was wondering if you have any information on what kind of concert it is going to be since it IS a classic music festival with cellist.( meaning am I gonna see him really dance) I would really appreciate your reply. Thanks!

well i actually have the full esp the only i did NOT ! have is epi 48 49- seeem to be missing part it was up whern it rlease but then after acouple it gone Mnet must have took it down dran am telling they are fast in this and u would not going to be happy with it eiter!!

I have a few questions that I hope aren’t too random but I mean I guess since this is an open thread I guess this would be a more appropriate place to ask them.
Anyway
So I’m making my first trip to H-Mart this weekend (So excited!) because I’m tired of waiting a month to get my CD’s lol
So I heard that there’s a section of the store where you can buy CDs and DVD’s and such but I was wondering how far back in years can these CDs get?
Basically, what I’m asking is: if I go there, will I be able to get CDs like “Rainism” & “Rain’s World”?
And my other question has to do with Korean fanclubs because I heard that if you are a member of a fangroup, you aren’t allowed to associate with other artists (no chanting–which I understand–no talking about other artists, no joining other fangroups, etc.)
Is this true?
I’ve become a bit skeptical about this because I really like and want to support other kpop artists too and I worry that once I become a member of one fangroup, I can’t join another because of the one that I’m currently in.
I hope somebody can answer these but still, have a nice rest of your week regardless 🙂

Good questions…
Regarding H-Mart: Yes, there is a section of H-Mart that sells/rents dramas and sells CD’s. The one Stephe and I went to here in Atlanta had an amazing drama/movie sales/rental section, and it went back for years. Their music selection was a lot more limited. However, the clerk there was very helpful and said she could order whatever we wanted, if we had any specific requests.
In fact, most of the book/music/video stores we visited in Atlanta have all said they could order items from Korea for us as well. Them having to order items for you doesn’t help with your “don’t wanna wait” scenario, BUT if you go in and request items often enough, then not only do you make contacts in the community, but they are also much more likely to stock similar items more regularly. Yes, buying online is convenient, but nothing beats supporting your neighborhood entrepreneurs, IMHO.
Having said that, I actually found both Rain’s World and Rainism at our local stores. And I saw another copy of Rain’s World this past week, when Stephe and I went on another shopping spree.
Regarding overseas fanclubs: Also a good question. I have heard that fanclubs over in Asia are very territorial. But that is hearsay. Let Stephe find out for sure, before we start some kind of revolt. As for me, I just don’t get fanclub wars at all. Makes no sense for any of the artists involved and just makes fans look stupid as hell. If I have the resources to belong to a fanclub for several artists and support all of them well, then I don’t get the problem? Or am I missing something?

And I totally agree with the fanclub wars thing. They really are just stupid and that’s why I’m trying to avoid situations like those as best as I can.
I’ve seen these fanwars get really bad at some points. I could go on and on about what I’ve seen happen (coughSones&Elf@Dc08cough) and why it’s just wrong but that will involve me getting riled up and I’d rather not and id probably end up digressing lol
And hopefully I’ll find what I want when I head to the Korea District this weekend haha!

Thanks for your patience, violarain. Concerning Rain’s official fan club in particular…
My friends that I emailed overseas (they’ve all been official Clouds and top supporters of Rain’s for several years now; one is even the head of a major Cloud organization) have individually told me that they’ve never heard of such a thing, and that they are sure it’s not the case. In fact, in some areas they actually network by supportively linking to other artists websites in friendship, and in others, though Rain is their Number One top priority, some actively attend meetings, concerts, and events of other artists’ clubs because networking is so important. It is doubtful that any fan club, despite how large, has the power or the manpower to actively investigate and police their fans like that. I doubt these ladies would stand for that kind of behavior, which is why we’re friends to begin with.
I don’t think you have anything to worry about. And if I did, you’d know it because I would be screaming bloody murder. That is not how we roll here; that’s not how we would EVER roll here. This is the U.S.A. I have Oh JiHo and Song IlGook mini-attacks all the time, and I’m not even going to get into the the KPoppers who have caught my attention (coughB2STieJunHyungcoughHoMincoughG.O.coughJunhocoughChungLimcoughcough)
Now that said, if I flew to Seoul and went to a KPop concert with The Cloud or whatever fan group, and decided to sit in a designated Rain section or section for whatever KPop group, I would have the courtesy to cheer for whomever’s section I was sitting in because that’s just common sense. Who wants death stares or a soft drink can upside the head? LOL! (kidding) OR I’d be sitting in a section not designated, and scream at random.
As far as other fan clubs go, I can’t say, but the way they cat fight and go all ballistic when they feel like they’ve been slighted in the least… I wouldn’t bark up that tree. Just ask a lot of questions, and be careful.

Yea I get that much. & I’ll just be careful with any other fangroups I decide to join and see what their standards are.
Like you said, I really don’t want bark up the wrong tree and end up sleeping with the fishes if I do. So getting that information was probably my biggest priority before I joined not only the Cloud but really any fangroup at all.
I guess I’ll just continue to ask this for any other fangroup I decide to join… And I feel like I may be joining more lol… But hey, it’s all in the cards I guess! Haha
Right now I’ll just stick to what I’m sure of 🙂

Also Stephe, Terri so cool you two are joining, my heart says yes join but my mind keeps putting caution stop lights up, I understand our cultures have differences however I have been burned in so many ways because I use to be so trusting and that just scares me. But though you ladies who knows maybe the next one I’ll join. It is yearly right? And you two are very brave! 🙂

We used to have most of Season 1 up here, until Mnet claimed copyright and had them scrubbed. So this past year I’ve concentrated only on getting Season 2 up as it aired, in order of episode. Some of those have been taken down from our RAINY DAYS pages too, but there is still a lot left for some good watching. Rain Legend also has a collection in their download section, but I’m not sure what is and is not there anymore.
To my knowledge, there isn’t any one place you can go to pull all 100+ episodes up. It’s a Japanese project and Mnet has been a real watchdog about it. Used to be you couldn’t even pull them up on the actual Rainy Day page AT Mnet (Japanese), just information about them. Wow.
That’s one thing we’ll be working on this year — getting a handle on all those episodes, and communicating with folks overseas in an effort to get them made available.
