In roughly one week, Rain has set hearts aflutter and fans afire with his unexpected appearances in three countries—Switzerland (Geneva), France (Paris), and England (London). Well, make that four, with his unexpected appearance on MTV.com (USA) as their Style blog’s Hottest Hustler for January 19th. It is GOOD to see the Man finally taking personal time for himself, even if he is mixing a little bit of business with it.
And we’ve heard, through the grapevine… that it ain’t over. 😉

here’s something else. at the end of the 2010 Adeiu with Rain concert, he brought 3 teens on stage. it looked like a young girl and 2 young boys (did anybody notice)? i don’t know what he said, but he seemed to be talking about them to the audiance.

i visited their site and was kind of surprised to see the difference in how Rain is posted there. they still have the Kim issued posted, but not the finally outcome. they still have the “height” issue posted, but not final outcome. wonder why is that? btw, they do have a lot of his mv’s posted. i didn’t do a through scout of the site, so i may have missed other things. but it just seems like he’s being portrayed as two different persons. on US MTV, he’s presented as this top notch go-getter and on MTV-K it seems like they have him attached to scandles. if anyone else visits, please share you’re thoughts with me. thanks.

That very thing has always bugged me about that site. I don’t get where they’re coming from at all…
I don’t frequent there much anymore for that reason, but it’s still in the back of my mind, if that stuff is on purpose or just bad follow-up habits.

Hell yes, one sad, full of tears look with those beautiful eyes and I will be down on the floor coz my legs will be jelly!! Terri, Girl I agree. What in the world could be so terrible, when Rain has sooo many positive qualities, that these girls have left. I’m just not buying it, I think the DUMBER THAN DIRT description must fit them. He must have come across the wrong women in his life, probably pretty but the dumb and shallow ones, which is what he is not.
I hope Rain finds the “right one” soon. He deserves to have someone that can speak to his heart. 🙂

hahaha, just watched Rain’s Adieu 2010 clips on Show Biz Extra on TVk. just adds to my day whenever there’s a chance to watch him in my own home. clip showed him doing the “Doing Butt” dance, hahaha (Doing the Butt, SEXY, SEXY) anyone remember that song? to HOT.

Rain is a proven “student” of black music/dance, you see it over and over again. he adds a refinment to it and magically merges east and west so well and for me he brings up a memory of good music long ago.

I am not sure about the legalities of “song stealing” per se, but I know artists will record “their version” of a popular song. It happens all the time. For example, the song “How Do I Live Without You”….this song was recorded by Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rhimes both. Each version sounded similar, but yet different and also these two versions came out in a very close timeframe to one another. I read that Trisha was not very happy about it since her version came out first and was on the Con Air movie soundtrack. However, LeAnn’s version was the most popular and was played on the radio more.
I liken it to the classic Christmas carol “Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire.” Everybody knows silky voiced Nat King Cole is the original version, but there are 100 BAZILLION versions of that same song out in the world.
I believe if the young female performer and her management team got the proper permission up front and credited the creators/producers of the MBLAQ song AND compensated them for the use of the song, then I would assume there wouldn’t be an issue with her performing her version of the song. If I am wrong, I stand corrected.

Nat King Cole’s estate gets paid big time everytime that Christmas song is re-produced and sang cause the family are owners of his estate (which includes his music cataloge). don’t know about the other’s you mention. not to long ago there was a doc. on tv called “Copyright Criminals”, and they showed all these different artists’ who had re-made various songs/beats, made money and then were hauled into court by the original owners. some had to turn over every $ they made because they had not gotten permission from the owners of the music. nothing’s wrong with re-making, but yeah, permission must be obtained first.

A video of Ecuadorean artist Andrea Bucaram performing a song strikingly similar to MBLAQ’s hit song “Oh Yeah” has been found and uploaded. The instrumental, beat, beeps and just about everything sound just like MBLAQ’s, and the “Oh Yeah” repetition makes it even more obvious.
MBLAQ’s manager tweeted the video and said “this isn’t even plagiarism it’s just copying. After making sure, we will deal with it. If anyone knows anything about the singer, then please message us.” MBLAQ’s G.O. tweeted “Woowah..She copied the song really well..”
MBLAQ’s “Oh Yeah” was the group’s debut song, which was released in October 2009. The song went on to top many music charts right after release.

kongsao, i’m surprised about this. i suggested to JTune Camp to look for some kind of way to secure their work.
if you remember the same thing happened to the WonderGirls in either Thialand or Tiawan and JYP had to threaten legal actions for them to stop. i mean that country allowed a girl group to dress, copy beats and dance moves like the Wondergirls, they were even called the Wondergirls of Thialand/Tiawan. crazy, but that’s what happening with other peoples work. but, hey even Lee Hyori was accused of plagerisum of lyrics. i just think more respect for the original should be paramount within the entertainment industry. sad about this too.

Ok apparently there’s a rumor going around that Rain had to leave the MCM store asap because he was heading out of the country… maybe to NYC.

Recently while I was talking to someone about Rain. This person asked me some questions I am not sure I had the correct answers. So if anyone know the answer to these questions, please let me know. The questions are:
1. Who gave Rain his name?
I said either Rain or JYP came up with his name. That I was not sure, when he debute in 2002 this was the stage name he was introduce with.
2. What does Rain mean? They said they did not understand why he was called Rain.
I said just like real rain can come down on you soft or hard. When Rain performance he can come at you soft or hard.
Is either of my explainations correct?

I will have to do some digging around to give you a definite answer, but from what I can remember I think there is probably more than one answer to your question. I think the name came from both Rain and JYP. I’ve heard that it was because JYP thought Rain looked sad while dancing, so they called him Rain. I’ve also heard it was because it always rained outside while they were recording his albums. Now, its possible that both reasons are true, or that neither are true. That’s just what I remember. I have no idea about your other question. I hope that helps! Maybe someone else has more info.

Many explanations have been given by JYP and Rain at different times in different interviews. Another explanation I have heard from Rain was that he liked the name Rain because rain “replenishes” the earth. So, either he doesn’t really know exactly “why” he chose “Rain” as his stage name, or he doesn’t want to give the “real” explanation, which comes from Chinese literature (as explained in the textbook that was recently published…LOL.)
I guess we may never know, really.
