Ah yes! I so enjoyed this late 2009 Ninja Assassin premiere interview from when Rain was in Canada doing his thing. Love the interviewer! She was not only polite, but very aware that conversing in English made him nervous, and took care to help the interview along and put Rain at ease rather than take advantage (or so it seemed to me). AND she was a blast. He was laughing in spite of himself.
I LOVE Rain here. As hard as it had to have been, he not only kept it together, but managed to throw a bit of charm and JiHoon personality into the mix as well. Even when the wheels of his mind were turning furiously and he was pulling that English out of thin air, he was just cute and funny as all get-out. Watching this… I was so proud. ♥
He always does his best, no matter what. Always. Bless him.

I have to take my hat off to Rain. As a linguistics major I know that English is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn, just because there are so many exceptions to rules in English, in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. To have to learn such a difficult language and then have to use it professionally and conversationally like he does takes a lot of courage and confidence, which he definitely has in spades. Of course, as a linguist, I wouldn’t mind giving him a few private lessons myself, wink wink!! He can take his shirt off for me too!!!

this was nice. Rain sounds so nice speaking english. i love his accent. i beleive he has gotten much better over time and even since this pr for NA. but, yep he did a good job which shows he has worked really hard on learning this language, which i’m sure was no easy feat for him.

I’ve never seen this one but,like everyone else, I love this interviewer, she was awesome. She is like a cloud, the long hair did it for me and when you have a concert in Canada you have to take your shirt off for me. LOL!!!! I love her, she’s nuts! We would all love to say that to him personally, but like he said “Don’t worry about it” For sure, because he definitely will, he knows what we like. This was about the most confident I’ve seen him speaking English in interviews and he was as charming as ever. Thanks for the post!

Awwwww he was as charming as ever. The lady was polite and guide him tru the interview so he felt more confident than other times. My favorite part was when she said that the long hair did it for her. Lol!! Lady welcome to the club and get to the end of a loooong line!! Rain did very good speaking a language completly different to his own and that he knows little about. I studied english in school all my life but it took six years living in US for me to get confident and speak english fairly well. He did lots of interviews, in front of cameras, with different people and he was nervous and insecure of what he was saying. To me he is a champion and has guts of steal for being able to go tru that!!!

I had seen this interview before and I loved seeing it again. My hat goes off to the interviewer because she really did make him feel at ease. She knew it was a struggle for him and she did not talk to him in a condescending way, like other reporters can/will do. He’s a “natural charmer” no matter what the language, so when he really masters English……Oh Boy, he’ll be Truly “dangerous” to Clouds then. We’ll need to slap a warning label on his behind (I’ll volunteer for that job, by the way)….(SMILES)

Rain did a an awsome job in the interview. His english was really good. I liked that he talked with confidence or appeared to be confident. He might of been nervous inside but he held it together and spoke like he knew what he was talking about. He came across very charming and funny. You can tell the interviewer was a fan and she thaought Rain was hot. LOL!!! Look at how many times she mention about him taking off his shirt. Over all great interview.

Thought I’d seen all NA interviews but I guess not! I really enjoyed this one. The interviewer really worked hard to make him feel comfy and it showed. You can see he struggled so hard with English but he still manages to come across as super charming and funny. I hope that if he comes here for a world tour that there are new interviews to watch so we can see how his english has improved.

And I love that she made him feel comfortable. I know it must be difficult going into a foreign country and speaking their language…

I have seen some of the interviews that Rain did for Ninja Assassin on YT and he always does a wonderful job. He may struggle with his English but he has such charisma that it doesn’t even matter. He gets his point across regardless.
On a side note, I give kudos to anyone who can interview Rain and keep their composure. I would be too busy….a. staring, b. trying to keep from jumping on him, c. fainting or d. all of the above. 😉

rain 😎 lol…. everything he say is great rain seeme to so HAPPY for his talk during the interiew but i found him quite nervous for seren answer the asking him but i have to say his charming it alway with him no matter but one thing that i am aware of rain esp.. in U.S. i perfer rain to know ENGLISH more then not to so that way he can be more relaxing to any cofident question even not not he still give an confident answer his ver smaert at his interiew period.
the lady is lol… rain sure put his english in good talking but as u know how in U.S. are they would think him bit differnt how he react to them anywhere but i know rain got hang around their.
