[kbs] We are recruiting supporters and bloggers for Fugitive Plan B.
There it is, in black and white, over on » KBS’s Runaway home page.
And, as it holds true to the pattern that for the past several days, “Fugitive” has been used concerning anything to do with English-speakers, and “Runaway” for Asian fans, it’s safe to say they’re talking to us too.
What does this mean?
As soon as we can break it down, we’ll let you know. Stay tuned!

Like I’ve said before I think it would be so cool to do stuff like this, but as for myself I’m like a deer in headlights, hahahahaha! Cameras i’ve always tried to shy away from.

I think it would truly be a crime for cloudusa to not be apart of this project. As others have said i think you guys have the best blog and forum in the U.S.

Aw, thank you, Laura.
We appreciate the support and your very kind words.
Stephe is trying to get us involved with the Runaway project at KBS, because it may be that we don’t have to speak Korean to simply be a power blogger. We are trying to find out.
Besides, we already know that we are going to be doing some pretty hefty power blogging over here at Cloud USA about Runaway, right? So, it would be nice to actually have some news from an “official source” for a change, rather than having to scrounge around for tidbits here and there. (Cause that’s a JOB, let me just point that out…)
KBS, however, isn’t making it easy. When we tried to register on the KBS website as a “foreigner abroad,” the link didn’t work. And this a.m. when I tried to visit the Runaway homepage, my browsers timed out (all of them…) and the page wouldn’t load. Sigh.
We’ll keep working on it though.

I NEED HELP!!! PLEASE, someone, anyone! i don’t get KBS through my cable carrier here in my state, so i joined KBSi. my registration was accepted and when i returned back to the site to watch the first episode it told me to buy points. how? how many? does this mean i have to pay to watch since it’s not going to air where i live? this may sound stupid, but honestly, i’m stuck as to my next move. just gotta watch this drama, so help me out, ok?

Hi there, Busybee,
Yes, to watch episodes of entertainment or drama shows on KBSWorldi.com, you must BUY POINTS with which to watch them.
Once you have registered and have logged in, at the top right of the screen, you will see a BLUE LINK called “Buy Points.” Click on the “Buy Points” link and it will take you to a screen where you can use a credit card or debit card to purchase your points.
There are several price levels at which you may purchase points. When I first purchased points, I think I chose the 700 point level at $50.00 USD, but that was because I knew I would be watching quite a few shows (including Runaway, I hope!).
Episodes cost approximately 10 POINTS EACH. Once you click on an episode of a show you’d like to watch, KBS will show all of the details of that show and whether it costs anything to watch it. If you click to view that episode, a screen will then pop up telling you that KBS is going to deduct 10 points from your account. Once you click okay to approve the transaction, then the episode will start.
So, yes, you have to purchase points to watch, unfortunately. Or you can just wait for someone to upload the episodes onto the Internet somewhere for free. But since I didn’t know how long that would take, I wasn’t willing to chance it. Which is why I purchased points on KBSWORLDi in the hopes that they will upload the episodes for my viewing more quickly.
Some things to remember about your KBSWorldi points:
–Whenever you want to watch Dramas or Entertainment shows, 10 points from your pre-purchased points pool are deducted.
–You don’t have to pay for the same show again if you want to watch it within FIVE HOURS after you first started the show.
–Other programs like Culture and Kids’ programs are provided for FREE, but you have to log-in first.
–Points are NON-REFUNDABLE and have NO expiration date.
–You can use your KBSWORLDi points ONLY at KBSWORLDi.com.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Raindasy,
Yes, you must be able to speak Korean, English, and even more languages are preferred.

Seriously?
Okay, apparently they want to recruit bloggers who speak English, because the notice is actually mentioned in English. But that’s the ONLY thing that is in English.
And there’s no link anywhere that I can find that tells you how to sign up. If you switch the site to English, it goes to another unrelated page altogether.
Sigh. KBS you really should think things through before you do stuff like this.

Thank you for your kind words about Cloud USA, Busybee.
The problem is neither Stephe or I speak Korean. And I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like KBS may want their bloggers to be able to speak Korean too?
Not totally sure though. It’s somewhat baffling to me why someone who might be looking for overseas, English-speaking bloggers wouldn’t want native speakers of the language.
Anyway, here’s the “Google Translated” version of their announcement page:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ko&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kbs.co.kr%2Fdrama%2Frun%2Fpost%2Fevent.html
Which makes absolutely no sense. Can someone translate the Korean version for us? Let us know what it says for sure?
Thanks!

Terri,
It looks like to be a power blogger, you need to know Korean, even though it is not amentioned. It is my assumption but by reading the requirements for supporters which state that self introduing letters written in Korean and one other language are needed. (English, Janpanese, Chinese, etc.) I understand Korean but I’m not a writer. I’m sorry but I’m not good at writing and really don’t like writeing anything, either in Korean or English. Also I don’t know anything about blogging, tweeting, things like that. I love this site. love to read articles posted and watch video clips. I really do appreciate your effort for updating and maintaining this site wornderful. Right now, I feel bad that I know Korean but cannot help you guys with this issue. Sorry again!

Stacy,
Thank you for the information. That is what I thought too–that you needed to speak at least one other language besides English. And my Korean is basically non-existent. So, that leaves ME out.
It looks like Cloud USA won’t be able to help KBS out with this–unless they are interested in someone correcting their sometimes horrific English blurbs. I’m DEFINITELY game for that.
And if you ever want to translate anything from Korean to English for us, Stacy, just have at it. We are ALWAYS needing help with that.
Again, thank you!
