Have you heard Bumkey, Lately?
There are men who can sing, and then there are a few men who can really SING. Our Ji-Hoon is one of those few. And here is another—Bumkey, of 2w1nS (Twins). I found this “Lately” cover he did (back in 2007) on the 2w1nsBounce fan blog. Stunning. I had to share.

Well, it’s OBVIOUS I have “stepped on” some “Bumkey toes”…….with that I will get back on my “OLD SCHOOL” train, before any more of my words are taken the wrong way. As I make my last statement on this topic, for the THIRD time I said Bumkey did an EXCELLENT cover, Never said the guy could not sing, ONLY meant to “GIVE PROPS” to the man who actually WROTE the song……Pulling out my “rocking chair” now so I can go sit down and take a load off. I’ll let the “whippersnappers” take it from here…….

Beautiful, clear tones. Resonance. This guy can sing. Wow. I really look forward to listening to more of 2WinS now. Goodness.
Someone said that English is his second language. Do we really know that? Because his pronunciation in this song is exceptional. It really is.

I’d like to hear Stevie do a cover of a Korean song…this song will always be his but this cover blows his away…specially because English is not his language..kudos to Stevie for doing this song but I believe Bumkey has better vocals…just my opinion

Even though this a RAIN blog, I feel hard pressed to reiterate my previous statement. Stevie Wonder is a great treasure as an artist who, by the way, RAIN has also stated he admired. Realistically, he is a man in his late 50’s early 60’s and I doubt very seriously he will ever do a cover of a Korean song, if he has I stand corrected. No disrespect was intended toward Bumkey, however, in MY opinion “youth” will NEVER overshadow some musical “pioneers” of the past, Stevie being one of them. As I stated before, I thought Bumkey did an EXCELLENT cover of the song and I stand by that statement. However, I am born and raised in the Southern part of the U.S., SURROUNDED by great singers, many of whom are not even famous. Even though I know there are great singers ALL AROUND THE WORLD, in order to REALLY IMPRESS me, we’d have to take it to Sunday morning church service. If Bumkey can hang with that……….
ONCE AGAIN…..It’s ALL LOVE!!!!!……..(and GO BI BABY!!!)

I’m sorry, but some songs will “always” be signature by the original artist……”Lately” will always be Stevie’s (Stevie Wonder) song to me. HOWEVER, this young man did an EXCELLENT cover. With english being his second language, I’m even more impressed. He would be an excellent balladeer, we don’t have enough balladeers anymore, everybody wants to be a singer/dancer.
