My word! Rain & Henney? Can this be TRUE?

[*ETA: Well, this news appears to be all good, folks.  We really liked Henney in the poignant 2007 movie My Father (which he won a Best New Actor award for), in the 2009  CBS prime time drama  Three Rivers here in the US, and in 2006’s Korean drama Seducing Mr. Perfect.  You may recall he also played Agent Zero in the 2009 Hollywood film X-Men: Origins.]

Money Today’s Star News is reporting that, after a stint away from acting, Daniel Henney will be joining Rain, Na-Young, and Jung-Jin in Rain’s upcoming fall drama Runaway (Domanja).

The article also gives more hints at the plot line, particularly that love will blossom between Ji-Woo (Rain) and Jin-Yi (Na-Young) as they play a cat-and-mouse game involving a huge cache of long-lost war money.  This game will unfold in many cities all across Asia, and… here we go!… Henney’s character will act as Jin-Yi’s very protective guardian angel, which of course should bring about that infamous drama vehicle we’re all familiar with—the love triangle.  Dun-dun-DUN!

(Thanks to rain bird and Rain Europe for this information.)

The original Star News article translated as Daniel “Hay,” but here is the actual picture that Star News printed with it (from the Hangeul write-up), and it looks like Daniel Henney to me.  We haven’t seen Henney’s reps confirm this in print, so…  We’ll continue to read around, and if there is anything askew, either concerning the picture or the write-up, we will bring you an update.  This news is really fresh—I can’t find anything else about it out there now, but later on today there should be plenty and we’ll know the real scoop one way or the other.

I’m telling you, if this is fact, if our Ji-Hoon is going to be in a love triangle with Henney on Runaway, I don’t know if my heart can take it.  Some women get all the luck!  How many of you would sell your souls to be Lee Na-Young right about now? 😛

  2. Dennis Oh is darned handsome, oh yes. But I’m curious to know your opinion about his personality and his acting range. I’ve seen him in interviews and a drama, and personally he seemed kind of bland.

Nice eye candy, but he kind of bored me.

People have said that about Henney too (that he’s boring), though personally I found his expressions and personality bright and vivacious. I suppose it’s all about each person’s perspective, huh?

    Interesting.

At least we all do agree that Rain is Da Man.

  4. There are probably other fans that feel the same way.

They only have eyes for Rain! ^_^

I am excited about Henney and Jung-Jin doing the drama, but I’ll be watching Runaway only because of Rain.
