[repost] World Cup fashion, Korea style. Hoh!

[ *ETA 6/23:  There have been many questions lately about the DaeHanMinGuk shirt and other All The Reds shirts and merchandise, so we wanted to repost this from June 1st. We hope this information helps. 🙂 ]

The Korea Times 6/1/2010 — The first kick-off of the 2010 World Cup is a mere nine days away and the excitement is palpable in Korea. Football fans are mentally preparing across the oceans all over the globe and one of the best ways to do it is with the proper gear.  From designer brands to casual wear, handbags to flip-flops, the fashion to celebrate the World Cup has something for everyone. So don’t worry about what to wear to the game: You’ll be decked out in team spirit….

….The variety of souvenir shirts is endless and Adidas, an official sponsor of the World Cup, is the producer of the style that several celebrities and entertainers have been spotted wearing. Footballer Park Ji-sung, Rain, and actor Jang Dong-gun have all been seen sporting the Chinese- and Korean-lettered red shirt (20,000 won).

Only about 18,000 of the single-edition shirts were produced, said Myeongdong branch manager Choi Min, and they’re quickly selling out. “Tourists and foreigners come in a lot before the games start,” he said. “What’s on the racks is all we have left.” ….

»  The All The Reds Items page on the Auction Korea site.

»  All The Reds merchandise on About Korea/Shinsegae Mall.

Don’t forget—we have KRW to US dollars tools here, on our Conversion Tools page.

NOTE: Unfortunately, what this article implies is that the Adidas 大…한민!국! “Dae…han-min!-guk!” shirt we’ve fallen in love with is only available offline and you must physically walk into a shop in Korea to buy one (if you don’t bid for and get one on SK Telecom’s charity auction).  And that there aren’t many left.  *sigh*  Oh well.  We can simply console ourselves with All The Reds shirts, because truly, they are gorgeous.
