    • Yes, her father was black and her mother is Korean. That she became and still is one of the most celebrated singers in Korea is astounding. Watching her shows on the Internet always makes me speechless. The crowd is so into her. She is one of them, without question.

      I saw her on an episode of variety game show Star Golden Bell once, with a bunch of other K-celebs. That was the first time I’d ever seen her, and immediately started digging into who she was. I just had to know. And when I heard her sing, that was pretty much it. 🙂
