From Rain: “It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?”

From » our Ji-Hoon’s official website, earlier today:

Hello, this is Rain.
It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?

You came into my mind while I was surfing the internet, taking a break in my car after rehearsing for KBS Music Bank, so I’ve come to visit my homepage to post my message to you.

Thanks so much for providing me all kinds of delicious food and snacks in the lunch box in order to take care of my health every meal of the day.

I’ll try harder from now on, and I’ll see you in Music Bank in a little while.

(Brief translation by rain bird @Rain-eu.  Thanks so much, rain bird!)

Awww.  A pretty cool thing to do for your fans.  Very nice!  There have been so many goodlies from Rain lately: more comeback stages, a new SK Telecom CF with Park Ji-Sung, radio spots galore, the long awaited WPhone CF from SK Telesys…

Wait a minute.  Speaking of phones…

Rain!  Be The Man!  Get a Rain phone!  Oh-em-gee!  LOL

[If his webmaster had thought to grace the English version of his website with his personal message, the same as the Korean version, so that Rain’s gazillion devoted English-speaking fans would know that he was thinking of them too, we probably would have been so delighted and happy that we wouldn’t have even noticed what was sitting underneath the van window near his knee.  When you’re quite miffed (particularly about an English site that is but a pale imitation of the original), you tend to notice a lot more detail and find objects to vent your irritation on.  Hmph.]  — Stephe ^@@^

  1. I’m used to being invisible, it’ll have to be a one way love…lmao!!…but they should have some consideration for us, we are all CLOUDS after all..:(

  2. You know what, Rain?

Here’s a little advice for you (Not that you want it, particularly, because heaven forbid you or J.Tune establish a simple e-mail address on your website, for quick and FREE international fan feedback or anything…)

You wanna be a world star? You’d better start acting like one.

If you think it is irritation you hear in my typing, then you would be right. This is not the first time I have thought the English side of your official website has been sorely lacking. And it is completely frustrating, to say the least.

I guess it wouldn’t bother me so badly, except that many of your international fans work very hard to share news about you with the world, a task that would be made MUCH easier if you and those at J.Tune responsible for your fandom would understand that your international/English-speaking fans want “official” news from you too.

And yes, we want it in ENGLISH. And we don’t just want someone over there in Seoul to pick and choose the news they share with us. We want ALL of your news. Just like all of your clouds over in Korea get.

Why can’t ALL of the notices on your official website be translated in English and placed on the English side, and not just a few of them? The fact that your international clouds are so isolated from you and even from each other makes it even MORE important that all of your news gets to us somehow. After all, it’s not like we can just hop in our car and run over to an M! Countdown pre-recording or to an autograph-signing event or to a street wrestling event and catch a brief glimpse of you, now can we?

Why wasn’t your message to your “fans” translated in English, so that your international fans could read it without struggling to try and translate it? Do you even know that the last message your international fans got from you on the English side of your website was from December 2009? That’s almost 5 MONTHS AGO?

And why are there only like 4 pictures of you on your supposedly professionally-run website? And only one video from GomTV? As I think I have said in the past, whoever is running your website is doing you a grave disservice.

Okay, okay. I need to calm down. Can you tell I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time? Can you tell I’m a little upset?

Ah well. I’ll get over it, I’m sure. But still. Get a grip, Rain.

    Terri :-}

P.S. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the phone. Neon yellow? Really, Rain? Really? Interestingly, my son (the musician) also had a neon-yellow case for his phone, before he got his current “manly” T-Mobile Android. Lol. Maybe it’s a creative thing, but as I recall he still got quite a few snarky comments from his friends about it. Lol.

    • Dear Rain,

Please let me add that your message to your fans was still very sweet all the same, and very much appreciated. It really was.

And I should have mentioned that first, before I so soundly reprimanded you about your website. For that I am sorry.

    • I could see him having one for business and one for personal use, maybe, what with him having so many contacts both ways. But I’m just guessing.

I swear to you, PZ… if it weren’t for amazing Clouds like Cuckoo, rain bird, huhuhuhu, Amy and the few others, I don’t know what English-speaking fans would do. I just don’t.
