[English Translation] Consolatory Train Performances Provide a Special Strength » The ‘Bus Stop’ Set

The ‘Bus Stop’ Set
Here we have our ‘Bus Stop’ set. We had just set it up in the Officer’s Club and we were getting ready to dress it with the final touches. There was still a LOT to do at this point. I’m not really sure how we ever got it all done, now that I think about it. LOL. The main thing I remember about that performance was it was my first major role and I was the first one on the set when the lights came up. There were so many people in the audience on the show’s opening night that they had to put chairs in FRONT of the tables to pack the crowd in. What we (the cast) didn’t realize was how CLOSE the crowd was to the stage. So, when I walked out on stage and “flipped on the ‘diner’ lights” and the lights came up, I was startled to see people sitting almost in my lap. LOL. I covered well, but the second I exited the stage, I passed on that little tidbit to the rest of the cast, so they would hopefully be prepared. Yikes.
