[25 images][news][links][12 vids] 비 Yourself Open Thread for 1/1 — 2/29/2020. Eternal Rain overload!
There has been an influx of new Clouds and new Rain fans, and Rain has mentioned working on new music. Don’t know if he is or not, but now is a great time to go all the way back and get folks up to speed on his albums, from 1998 to 2017!
Welcome back! Hope everyone had a nice, cozy holiday.
My fifth installment of this series celebrates the time when Rain took a tiny detour out of Korea and dropped his first Japanese album Eternal Rain in September 2006, in Japan. That’s going to take a little ‘splaining because Eternal Rain is technically his second album released in Japan.

Okay. In my mind, a Japanese album has Japanese songs on it. Songs sung in Japanese, of which Eternal Rain has plenty. Of its 12 tracks, 9 are in the Japanese language, 2 are in Korean, and one is in English. Whereas what is considered Rain’s first Japanese album, RAIN: Early Works, released in Japan in December 2005, is comprised of 16 songs from his first three Korean albums. With not a Japanese song on it. Which is fine, nothing wrong with that. It’s simply my opinion that for an album to be classified Japanese, it needs that language on it.
I say Eternal Rain is his first Japanese album, and RAIN: Early Works is his first album released in Japan. My story, sticking to it. 🙂
FYI: First release “Sad Tango” and songs “Free Way” and “Move On” were released as singles ahead of the album.

Clip. Rain promoting Eternal Rain with “Sad Tango” (the first single) on a Japanese variety show. As you can hear, they loved it and they loved him. Gosh, he’s amazing! 🙂 ^@@^
Unboxing. This is for the CD/DVD limited edition version. Our Cloud USA images are of the CD version, and the art for both albums is different! ^@@^
Official MV. “Free Way”, the Japanese version. Which usually means there is a Korean version as well. ^@@^
Official MV. “Sad Tango”, the Japanese version. I know, for certain, there is a Korean version (not on the album) and an English version (on the album!). ^@@^
Clip. The making of “Sad Tango.” Don’t you just love going behind the scenes? Yes! ^@@^
Official MV. “Move On”, the Japanese version. There is also a Korean version. ^@@^
Clip. “Because of You” (Korean song) performed 3 years later, during his Legend of Rainism concert tour stop at Saitama Super Arena in Japan (August 2009). He was channeling Michael Jackson and Prince big time, hehe. I LOVE this performance. ^@@^
Fan made. “Oh Yeah” (Japanese song) featuring incredible singer AI. ^@@^
Fan made. “내가 너무 뜨거워서” (Because I Was Too Hot), made with footage from various Rain projects. It’s in Korean, and you can see my English lyrics below the video. ^@@^
Fan made. “Baby Baby” (Japanese song). Not to be confused with “Baby Baby” (Korean song) on Rain’s debut album n001. Not to be confused with “Baby” (Korean song) on the FanClub 1 album. They are three totally different songs, LOL! ^^ This fan made is also using footage from various Rain projects. Do you feel for this like me? ^@@^
News clip. Rain’s fan meeting with his Cloud in Japan, a few months before Eternal Rain‘s release. ^@@^
CF. Rain for the KB Card that year. With his cute self. 🙂 ^@@^
Rain is Eternal. Where clouds stay gathered, rain will always come. It is inevitable.

You’re welcome! It is great to see Arashi in this video. I didn’t know who they were until another Cloud introduced me to them around 2010! 🙂
Vous êtes les bienvenus! C’est super de voir Arashi dans cette vidéo. Je ne savais pas qui ils étaient jusqu’à ce qu’un autre Cloud me les présente vers 2010! 🙂

I love doing them too, Libbie. They’re so much fun and I get to relive all the Rain goodness! 🙂 Rain gets new fans every day, so I also think going back in history is important.
