[CORRECTION][7 images] Rain comforts the children at Aemin Nursery School [애민보육원] and helps with their care. (11/26)

CORRECTION: Dear readers, the children’s home that Susan Park represents and where Rain volunteered is not the Aemangwon Orphanage [애망원 유지재단] in Daegu, but a facility in Chuncheon. My apologies for any confusion! This language barrier can really throw you for a loop sometimes. It’s amazing how a letter or two in Hangul can point you in an entirely different direction.^^ Thanks for understanding. Please enjoy this new article with all new information below. ❤️

Hello, dear readers!

If I’m interpreting their story on their website correctly, the  춘천 애민보육원 [Chuncheon Aemin Nursery School], or 애민원 [Aeminwon] for underprivileged and orphaned children was established in 1951 for orphans of the Korean War (which started in 1950). Since then, the facility has grown with additional dorms and medical and educational services by leaps and bounds, and now houses children from infancy to high school. Back on 11/26, two weeks ago, Susan Park of 애민원 posted images on her Facebook page and shared that Rain recently visited the facility to donate food, bring gifts to the children, and do volunteer work there. A Seoul medical team also provided child health services like allergy screenings.

There he goes again, sharing that big heart of his. ❤

Rain’s 1,000 kg of rice donation will definitely come in handy when it comes to filling bellies daily.

Ms. Park, who looks to be a director, commented, “JiHoon loves children with all his heart and prepared gifts for each child personally. He spent precious time talking with middle school students and high school students, and did volunteer work with love.” [Editor’s note: Big thanks to Cloud USA commenter Sonya9410 for Ms. Park’s quote.]

A second person identified as a director wrote a post on the school website entitled Rain (Jung JiHoon) Aemin nursery schools sharing love. It translates as saying this:

“Singer JiHoon Jung and his fan club have been supporting our company with medical service and rice 1,000 kg since 2011. This time, JiHoon visited us and gave gifts directly to the children. We had gifts and pizza, chickens and rice. He also talked with young and middle-aged children about their difficult childhood stories and gave them good words to help them live a bright and healthy youth, and fulfill their dreams of responsibility and faith. He promised to meet with our children again on his next visit. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jung JiHoon, his fan club, and Dr. Kwak JiHee for having warm hospitality for the socially disadvantaged. I think our children will be able to spend this winter in warmth.”

From Seoul to Chuncheon is about 46 miles. Not a bad ride, depending on traffic, of course.

Remember when we global Clouds around the world joined with Clouds in Korea and across Asia for that huge rice donation drive for the Rain The BEST Show stop in Seoul, and it made the news? I’m just now finding out that 애민원 was one of the places that received the rice. Awesome!

As a 9th Cloud member, this is one thing that Rain (and his official Cloud Community and unofficial global communities) do that inspires me so much. There is an awful lot of love that comes with a warm bowl of rice, kind words, and simple deeds. May we always, as supporters, continue to follow his lead in this way, and he ours.

Thank you for your Facebook post, Ms. Park. 고맙습니다! Well done, Rain. 🙂

    • Dear Sonya helped me with Ms. Park’s quote and gave me the Korean name of the facility. I went into research mode and dug out the English and the rest, and it was a job. Rain’s heart is so big… makes it easy to support him and cheer him on. ❤
