What: The 7th Korea Film Awards, Special Performance

Where: Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Seoul

When: 12/4/2008

How many times it made me want to shout: 9

1) Dance break #1… OMG, Rain and a pole! OMG RAIN AND A POLE

2) OMG, those shoulders against that white shirt… the lines and the definition… the shine and the sweat. This was the same year that he filmed Ninja Assassin, so there was still some “Raizo” in that body and plenty of Gun Show.

3) Could his arms be any longer? (Didn’t “Han JiEun” ask him that in Full House? keke~) My goodness, he uses every single inch of those fine arms, too.

4) Ooh, work those hips then. Make that scarf belt jingle, mister.

5) That hair! The way it’s fluffing and flying around, I reckon it’s got a ton of conditioner in those fine crinkles.

6) The set is perfect. During the dance break, the water bubbles made it cool in the shade. With “Rainism”, it’s on fire.

7) Rain is lean, confident, smiling, and as loose as a goose. After being out of the Korean music scene for a while, filming Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin, and with his comeback album/song Rainism a success, I imagine he would be at that moment, bless him. There had to be a lot of pride in that he was succeeding on his own, too, without mentor JYP.

He hadn’t lost one ounce of his stage charisma and sex appeal during his time away and he knew it, ha. This was an excellent “Rainism” performance.

8) It never ceases to amaze me how he uses every joint in his body when he dances. Y’all ever notice that? While most dancers tick on beat, he ticks in between the ticks. Even reporters have complimented him on his unique, distinctive dance style over the years. It really is incredible.

9) “Hey, Rain, gimme some more flava!” Dance break #2, more distinctive style, and a sexy back that’s the equivalent of dropping the mic! Yassssss ❤

bonus2Time for some Bonuses! Check out this TvN news report from the next day, where Rain and crew were rehearsing and preparing for their spot. I’m sure I would have tested out the strength of that pole too, with my life—and live TV—depending on it! 🙂

At minute marker 4:36, the gist of the caption is that actresses were losing it looking at Rain’s abs and muscles. Well, yeah, they’re only human!

This is an awesome fan cam from someone in the first few rows, that never leaves Rain from start to finish. I love it because you can hear all of the audience screams and support that the TV network dampened for a less noisy broadcast, and I love it because either the fan-cammer and/or women close by couldn’t stop crying, “어떻게!” through the whole thing. So cute.^^ (Eotteohge, pronounced oh-toh-kay)

They simply didn’t know what to do with themselves as they finally gazed upon Rain again in all his swag.^^

Hope you enjoyed! Until next time, peeps!

  1. Hey forgot about the censorship on that song. Now I get with the peep of the abs and then the ripped shirt exit. He is sooo… cool. My bad boy in action. Love him even more.

Et c’est vrai que j’ai aimé cette perf pour la fin et leur faire comprendre qu’il avait été affecter par le retrait et le changement de parole de Rainism !!

  3. Haha, don’t you think there is a kind of protest after they banned him that “magic stick” :-)? He laughed when singing that part and then how he turned his back to the audience when ripping his shirt off and just walked away 🙂 I love this gesture! Thanks for entertaining comments 🙂

  6. OMG! I thought I had die and gone to heaven on the pole dance on the first video, but when I saw the fan cam I nearly fainted. The things that happen to my body(will at my age just should not happening) . I watched it.( quite a bit). He could put a couple of the “Magic Mike” boys to shame. I also want you to know your commentaries are what make these shout out videos even more exciting. keep it up. You are making my journey with Cloud USA and RAIN ja remarkable one.
