*Edited to Add 1/27: We were just told that there will not be an extension of the deadline, which is not necessarily bad because people have had success getting their payments through Paypal for the past few days, thank goodness.

FYI: While The Cloud is busy leveling up those who have paid and is gathering the names of Rain’s official 9th Cloud right now, the membership drive is not yet “officially” closed, so it is still possible to join up but ONLY if you move FAST. If you really want to be 9th Cloud, get your payment and email application in immediately (instructions are HERE), as the final rosters will be posted ASAP. ^@@^

Dear Clouds and Rain fans,

For some weird reason, in the past two weeks, when some fans have tried to pay for their 9th Cloud membership through Paypal, as requested, they have been singled out due to some new stipulation that we’re not aware of and not been allowed to send their $32. USD to the overseas Cloud master.

That makes absolutely no sense, seeing as the majority of us had no problem sending our money to Heidi/huhuhuhu’s email account. (I was too busy most of this month and finally sent my payment last week, and it went through…) I don’t think the Paypal customer service folks have any control over what the heck their system is doing. For all we know, it could be some random glitch. And what timing, right as the 9th membership payment deadline is upon us! Gah.

Seeing as none of us (Cloud USA and Heidi included) can control what the heck Paypal does, the best course of action is to find some way around this doggone problem.

As I understand it, CloudUSAer Patsiiii got her $32. membership fee through by sending it to Heidi in 3 separate payments. She also let Heidi know about it, and everything was good.

I strongly suggest that those of you having trouble try this method. Divide your $32. up into three parts and send it that way, with the information Heidi needs, and remember to send them as personal payments (not as a goods purchase) and agree to pay all charges, to heidi.shanghai@hotmail.com.

That method worked for Patsiiii, and so it should work for you. *fingers crossed*

Please do let us know if you still have trouble. I have contacted the Cloud executive in an attempt to get the membership deadline extended because of this problem (not sure what will happen with that, but I’m hopeful).

If you still have trouble after trying Patsiiii’s method, there may still be something else we can do, and we are brainstorming on another option, so don’t lose hope.

  2. I just did it after a frustrating week or so! I called PayPal a few days ago and it said that heidi’s account was unregistered to do transactions from US customers. But when I informed Heidi about this, she said that she still received money from the US. I tried my last fortune today and it went through without any problem. Wish you all luck for today!

      Yes, I think that PayPal is pulling our chains. There is no problem with Heidi’s account.

      I do hope that people are getting their payments through.

    • I am sure how Heidi register her Paypal account, not sure if it’s personal or business account. However, Paypal found that she base in China and put a red flag. I got a feeling that she set it up as business account.

  3. Dear all,
    Long time no chat. I had issue to pay Heidi via Paypal in last two weeks. Because of busy working schedule, I held it until deadline (sorry! Rain). And it still had problem last night, then I called Paypal without choices, then they explained me that Heidi’s email is registered overseas customer (especially from China), Paypal tried all means to protect USA account holders to pay questionable overseas merchants,they held the transactions until account holder to verify the address.

      • Yes, I told the Paypal representative that Heidi Li is my friend. Therefore, they put her email address to exemption list. So, if you have problem to Paypal on Heidi’s email in the future, you have to call Paypal and speak to representative.

      I’m not sure I’m understanding what you did? Who did you send an e-mail to? Did you send your money to The Cloud using PayPal? Did your payment go through?

    • Everything should be okay if you sent your money to Heidi through Paypal and send an email “application” to the requested address… just hold on to your Paypal payment confirmation just in case. The cloud by your name should turn pink as soon as The Cloud updates you, and that means everything went through properly. 🙂

  5. I apologize in advance if this question sounds stupid. The membership is just for grey cloud who wants to be official. Or all clouds oficials and not oficial has to pay $32. To be oficial and grey clouds to becone oficial in the cloud?

    • The membership fee needs to be paid again by all of us. So, even if you were an official 8th Cloud, you still need to pay the $32. This is a new membership period.

      • Another silly question. Why don’t they leave our previous cloud color in this case blue? Some people their cloud color doesnt change. But i noticed that yours changed to pink.

          My Cloud is pink because I paid my $32.00 to The Cloud. I did that when the membership drive first opened, before all of the PayPal troubles.

          Once you are “upgraded” to a 9th Cloud, your Cloud color will change from either blue (8th Cloud members) or gray (not official Clouds). Your Cloud color will change if you pay the 9th Cloud membership fee.

          Hopefully, that makes sense.

          • I thought your cloud would stay blue. And pink color would be just for new clouds becoming members for the first time.

            • It’s the quickest and easiest way to keep up with who is who. If our cloud stayed blue, with thousands of clouds they wouldn’t know who was 8th cloud and who was 8th and 9th without looking through a bunch of records. And even then there would be mixups as to who was a current paid member and who was not, so that current members get the benefits they’re supposed to. Makes it easier for Rain too, to see at a glance, when he has a second to get on there to look. 🙂 — Stephe ^@@^

              • I see. Well im glad that the membership fee was less expensive compare to last time. I sent my pmnt divided in three using pay pal today @ 5am when i realized about the process. Hope it goes thru without any problem. Thank you for the quick response. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  7. I was one of the lucky ones and got everything through the first time around. I’m glad you ladies found a solution for those who are still having trouble. These things can be frustrating and believe me I have had my share of frustrating moments too.

    Personally, I always keep in the back of my mind that when I’m doing an overseas transaction anything and everything could go wrong OR maybe nothing will go wrong. Some years ago I made a purchase through Ebay from the U.K. I did my part and so did the seller, however the item never arrived within the expected time frame. Just when I had all but given up and felt my money was lost, the item showed up at my door 4 months later. This was after I went around and around trying to figure out what happened..so on and so forth. Come to find out my package had been floating around the post office because someone had written my address illegibly.

    Bottom line, it’s a crap shoot either way when doing overseas transactions. You can never predict what business and financial institutions will do next. You can’t always know what rule changes have been made. You just have to remain vigilant and flexible throughout the process.
