Wow, CloudUSAers, what a time that was, when influential Rain came to New York City for his second walk down the TIME 100 Gala Red Carpet.
Not only did he look incredible, but CloudUSAers Gigi_rou, Diva, Stormy, and Stormy’s daughter Tara (only about five feet away from him!), and the New York Clouds with Cuckoo and Scorpiola (on him like a tick on a hound, good job!) were all there to see him look incredible.
AND Diva and Tara both made it into the Korean News. Holy Toledo!

All was calm as stars arrived at Lincoln Center and the place filled up. But when Rain hit the place, I mean when his foot literally moved from the car and hit the pavement, pandemonium broke loose, and not just from fans. English speaking photographers and news reporters were hollering.
And once he and Ronnie Yang got inside, the women’s heads were swiveling about on their necks like weather vanes and this stupor came into their expressions like, WHO is that tall, dark drink of Asian water right there? I kid you not.
Lord, we were so excited. Wahhhhh… what a memory.

Rain just about passed out when Sting knew who he was, and went into a Tweeting frenzy. I can’t say that I blame him! Nor am I surprised in the least that Sting was in the know. Not in 2011! 🙂

I remember how Bi wanted to meet First Lady Michelle Obama but was unable to because she did not attend the gala. Now, that the President and First Lady have another 4 years I hope Bi will get to meet her before they leave office.

Stephe, hope you are feeling much better these days. Thank you so much for posting all of these I had a blast reading and viewing them all some were new some I had already seen. If only I knew then what I know now I would have been there too in a heartbeat for sure. I loved reading all the fan accounts, some very lucky fans outside and inside the event, you can really feel the excitement in their seeing him so up close. A very deserving honor at such a young age he has accomplished so much. Always wondered what he is saying as he is walking in and in the limo, in the hotel….. do you know of any english subbed videos of the Rainy Day episodes?

Lots of the RAINY DAY episodes had written English translations, but unfortunately these were some of the ones that didn’t. Bummer. I haven’t really looked around since the show ended for any with English subs, but it sure wouldn’t hurt to check around now just in case. If I find these, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Oh how I remember this!!! My daughter and I were there. I got such great pictures of Rain. Me and my big mouth shouted his name, he turned to look my way and I snap the best close up of him. We were standing in the front near the door on the right side with all the other fans. It was absolutely great. Came home, looking the pictures over and my jealous husband asked to see my camera and said “Ooops” ooops what honey. I think I deleted you pictures by mistake. I did not speak, cook or do anything for a long time. I was so hurt after all I went through to get my pictures.
