[Cloud USA — 1/2/2013] Following a series of paparazzi photos that were released in the Media, actress Kim Tae Hee’s agency has confirmed that she and South Korean mega-entertainer Rain (a.k.a. R.O.K. Army corporal Jung JiHoon) are in a budding relationship and slowly getting to know each other.
As we understand it, they have met date-wise, but are taking their time when it comes to their one month-long relationship.
Tae Hee’s agency went on to say, “The two are well-known celebrities, so they don′t have much time to see each other, and it is true that the places where they can sit down to have a talk are also limited. In such conditions, they have started to see each other in a new light, but we believe this is a time when it′s difficult for even them to say exactly how they feel…. We know that many are interested in them due to the reports and photos, but we have just told the story as it is.”
In the latter half of 2011, before Rain reported for military duty on October 11, he and Kim Tae Hee became the new brand ambassadors for massive social commerce firm Coupang (쿠팡), following in the footsteps of singer/actor Kim HyunJoong and actress Lee NaYoung. It is said that they have been friends since that time.
One of her representatives was quoted as saying, “The two kept in touch as all celebrities that have shot commercials together do, and started to really see each other a month ago. Rain hasn′t been able to talk with Kim Tae Hee since the reports were released because he′s in the military.”
The stories circulating in the news concerning specific cars and specific times and specific ways that the couple supposedly met, as far as we can see, are simply the Media speculating on a timetable with details that have not been confirmed as fact.
As we understand it, Rain’s agency has said that they knew nothing about the matter at the time that the stories broke. They have yet to make a second statement.
A subject that has been dredged up by “netizens” in response to this story are claims of supposed “excessive off-time” taken by Rain since his enlistment in the military. Those claims appear to be a load of baseless rubbish, according to this October 2012 article researched by KDrama Stars.com. Celebrity soldiers in 2010 and part of 2011 were under the gun for excessive leave, but since that time, special leave has been decreasing and at present, celebrity break times in 2012 are similar to that of ordinary soldiers. These findings are directly from a report that Kim Jin Pyo (김진표), a National Assembly Defense Committee member from the Department of Defense, submitted in October of this year.
In light of this, “netizens” continuously attempting to destroy Rain’s and other entertainment soldiers’ reputations doesn’t make sense.
Yet another subject that has come about because of this story are articles such as this one, and this one, this one, and this, and this, which are spreading all over the globe and s-t-r-e-t-c-hing the truth more and more each time they are passed on. Substantiating the facts listed directly above, a defense ministry spokesman insists that Rain has earned all of his holiday time in line with military rules, and that his unit is simply “looking into the matter” because of public clamor and nothing more. He is also quoted as saying, “We advise soldiers to wear proper military attire, including a beret, during a holiday, but a failure to do so is NOT a punishable crime.” Rain is not in trouble with the military. Yet reporters are irresponsibly releasing inflammatory “news” about “being out on the town while on duty”, “flouting the terms of his military service”, and “jail not being ruled out.”

This is bad journalism at its best, reminiscent of the false reports three months ago that Rain would be “undergoing debilitating surgery” and “discharged because his military career was over.”
Thousands of R.O.K. soldiers have girlfriends and boyfriends, husbands and wives. Many of them visit their girlfriends and boyfriends on leave, or have begun dating someone while enlisted. Soldiers in many divisions get a Christmas holiday, not just the ones in entertainment. These soldiers are in the military protecting their fellow citizens. They are not criminals and convicts in a prison, so people being up in arms over someone dating for a month is ridiculous and cruel.
The way Rain himself is continuously drawn and quartered by his countrymen at every opportunity regardless of his exemplary military service, double duties, successes in bringing the world to South Korea’s door, and fighting various medical conditions, is heartbreaking to watch and impossible to understand.
Rain is scheduled to be discharged from the Army on July 10, 2013, a date that surely cannot come soon enough for him.
Kim Tae Hee’s new drama, Jang Ok-jung (Living By Love) is slated to hit the air this coming March. We wish her every success with her new project, and wish them both every happiness in their personal lives.

I have not been a fan of Rain for a long time like some of you so I am still discovering things about him and his career of 10 years. From what I have read or seen on the internet, I do agree that Rain will be just fine, he is resilient. I am the type of person that likes to hear directly from “the horse’s mouth” and chances are there might not be any direct comments on all these recent matters.
Rain is the only one that knows what is best for him at all levels. I follow another american artist career very closely and when he decided to get married, his loyal supportive fans were all shocked with whom he fell in love with (the heart wants what it wants) and we grew to love her too since he was happy and still is.
If I read the article on “The Cloud” Notice correctly, I am surprised to read that a (DEMA) soldier has to go off base for music recordings and that they don’t have the appropriate facilities and equipment on base. Maybe ROK army needs to make some changes.

tonicny – he went off base to record his own music …. I think. At least that was my take on it. But it was the fact that he stayed out past when he was suppose to be back at base and that he did other things besides what he said he’d do. i.e. see KTH but that seems weird cuz if they are not on base why should the army be able to say what they can and can not do. As long as he doesn’t do anything illegal or unbecoming to a solider. But what do I know.

I like Rain but not as a fanatic but as a fellow artist who respects and understands his pain and struggles because I went through the same thing in my life. I always believe that an artist’s tragedy is the world’s blessing because its just how we are built. We make our living out of our misery and pain. We heal and inspire people through that. I think he will get through this… its just that… well… im feeling that its probably on the girl’s side that made it worse for him. i feel like she wants attention? i dont know… but to say that knowing that you’re man will be affected negatively is not a sign of knowing your craft and the world ur living in. i just hope rain would choose a non-korean girl for him because he is universal, anyway. he is an artist and he is in the position of his life where the world is already at his feet. then, let’s see how the whole korea would react to that.

I agree with you. And have felt from the beginning she should have kept her mouth shut. But i think he wants to marry Korean to keep his roots, since he’s a worldly man. He probably feels this will keep him grounded also. I just pray he ways all his choices wisely.

Rain’s camp WON’T say anything about it either. Why? Because Rain is being investigated by the military and that would be a stupid thing to do.
DEMA reported to new media later that Rain did finally admit to dating Tae Hee.
Hint: Whenever a military organization says someone is taking “time to reflect on” their infractions, that means they have been confined to their quarters and that their duties have been suspended. They also usually have a gag order placed upon them.
That is likely why Rainy Entertainment isn’t saying anything at all–and likely never will.

I understand what you are saying. And you’re right.
The moment Tae Hee admitted to dating Rain, it got a LOT worse–for both of them. The moment Tae Hee said she was dating Rain, all of her delusional fans got mad and began to revile Rain, and all of the delusional Rain fans got mad and began to revile not just Tae Hee, but ALSO Rain.
It is unbelievable how many comments from supposed Rain fans and “Clouds” I read who said they would never support him again NOT because he had done something wrong (there were plenty of those too, but…) but simply because he was dating Tae Hee. What an incredibly naive mentality. I still can’t fathom it.
Of course, in the end, even if Tae Hee hadn’t said anything at all, it would have come out eventually because DEMA had the photos, and they knew Rain was somewhere with someone he shouldn’t have been. And at that point, Rain wouldn’t have lied, because he would have known that he would have gotten into even more trouble.
So, in retrospect, I’m glad she admitted it. That way it got the ball rolling sooner than later, so that all of this could be cleared up more quickly. I mean, if she hadn’t have admitted it, then that would have put Rain in the difficult position of either 1) continuing to lie to protect her or 2) admitting it himself, and remember, at the time, he was not being allowed to talk to anybody–especially not her. So he wouldn’t have know what the heck to do.
So, I’m sure he was quite relieved when someone finally said, Soldier, we know you were dating her, because she admitted it.” That way, he could just say, “Yeah, I did. Sigh.” And then it was all over but the shouting.
Sometimes things just have to get worse before they get better. Ya know?

It’s even sadder when you think about how he is probably not the only one the ROK military is crucifying in private, where we can’t see.
Low morale, depression, suicide and divorce are rampant in military organizations all over the world, and always have been. In 2009, the Mental Health Advisory Team (MHAT) VI Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 published a mental health report that indicated morale in the U.S. Army’s Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom units had not improved since the last study in 2005, and in some units had actually decreased (http://www.armymedicine.army.mil/reports/mhat/mhat_v/mhat-v.cfm). Apparently, low morale, depression, and suicide are some of the toughest enemies for the military to fight. I totally believe it.
Just being IN the military can cause stress and anxiety, even in peacetime armies. I married in 1980. At that time, there was a cold war and the big enemy was East Germany and Russia. Still, sometimes my ex would come back from a field exercise (after being gone for 45 days) so physically and mentally exhausted that the first morning he woke up in our apartment he would be totally disoriented and combative. He was a 2LT (Second Lieutenant) at the time, and had just started his military career. After enough training, well, I could forget about ever waking him up from a dead sleep without taking protective measures. The wife of one of his company commanders (who had served in Vietnam) told me she was frequently awakened out of her own dead sleep to find her husband had her in a choke hold, thinking she was the enemy. It terrorized her. But just think what it did to him? He was always so traumatized when this happened.
The military was one of the causes of my own separation from my husband of 23 years, who I was only actually in the physical presence of for half of those years because of frequent military-related separations. Ours relationship was incessantly strained by problems caused by the frequent separation and the problems that causes, like psychological detachment from family, reintegration issues after deployment, and family relocation every three years. According to The Pentagon, in 2012, the divorce rate of military servicemen was its highest in 10 years (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57474778/trouble-on-the-home-front-military-divorces-on-the-rise/).
So, you’d better believe that I think it’s an extremely sad day when any soldier of any military organization ANYWHERE can’t simply get a little break from the rigors of military life by having a date with a loved one every now and then. Especially in South Korea, where soldiers don’t have any choice but to be there.

Hahahahahaha… They would probably feel betrayed, and can’t say I’d feel bad for them. He doesn’t deserve the treatment he’s been given by some of them. Personally JiHoons the reason I’ve taken interest in Korea. They really need to appreciate their celebrities more and stop being so harsh and dictative. It is a beautiful country and he’s very proud of it has well he should be. But yes he needs a long break from them and hopefully they discover just what a true gem he is. As far as marrying non Korean? I’m happy for whatever makes him happy and someone who will cherish him as he will her.

I know Rain is not by any means perfect- no one is in this world, but this, this heat he is receiving, is simply because he is dating Kim Tae Hee. There is not other way around it. Just because he was caught going on a date with Kim Tae Hee means he isn’t fulfilling his duty in serving his country? It’s crazy how his own country is blaming it on him like he is the ONLY soldier who in his earned days and with obvious permission (because I know Rain won’t just leave wherever he wants without permission, he isn’t like that, no one is like that, it simply shouldn’t be allowed; special treatment my butt.) met up with his lady. That’s a bunch of bull. I’ve seen a fancam of a celebrity solider with his girlfriend, holding hands and wearing his uniform, on a date and it seems no one said anything about. I believe he is indeed a victim of witch hunt by his own people. It’s sad. I just hope Kim Tae Hee is worth it. I really do.

Hear, hear. I will be absolutely amazed if he doesn’t take a pretty hard fall for this though. Because if DEMA doesn’t make him an example, then the public outcry that is going on over there will get worse.
Rain isn’t the only PR soldier dating and trying to make his military service as tolerable as he can while he is serving his time. And I’m sure some of them are doing things that are much, much worse than dating their girlfriends. The problem is it was simply time for someone to take the fall so that things in DEMA would change. People have been complaining about the PR Division and they way the operate for a long long time. Unfortunately, Rain was the one who got in the line of fire. Sigh.

Okay this is so deja vu-ish, at first I couldn’t speak when I saw it.
I am currently working on some “defense documents” for Rain’s camp, behind the scenes of all of the crap. I have been doing so quietly and trying like heck to stay calm while doing it.
One of the things I had to do was look back at the English Translations of some of the Speeding Instinct posts. I had just finished doing that for 11/25, when I realized that that day was the day we got into it over here with a commenter who got really upset at Stephe’s asides.
As I was scrolling down the page, one of my comments caught my eye, and it was surreal. I said, and I quote:
“The huge trend in the Rainiverse is to believe that Rain is perfect, that he has absolutely no flaws whatsoever, and that he can do no wrong.
“For your information, that is total fantasy. Rain is a man and he makes mistakes, just like everyone else does. I’m terribly afraid that one day all of you clouds who think he is perfect are going to be extremely disappointed in him when he does something really stupid. That makes me very sad, because as a staunch supporter of Rain, unless he does something insanely criminal, I plan to support him through the good and the bad. Do you?

You’re right the real test of her salt will be if she stands by him immediately after the dust settles. She’s also a public persona with a career to protect too….wonder how she’ll ultimately handle things.
This reminds me how a long time ago in the forum when we used to speculate about Bi/kpop stars and how they “get with” their women without a trace of any woman anywhere. We came to the conclusion that Bi would more than likely get with somebody who had a career and an equal amount to lose. Funny it seems more than just Terri spoke this stuff into the cosmos. We’re all sorry Honey Bi. LOL!! I just remembered that.

I’m sure Rain will come out of this fine. He’ll be a little bruised and battered but he will be just fine. The man is definitely battle tested. Yet even the bravest of warriors gets tired. This is insane.
They’ve been gunning for this man from minute one. What Rain needs to realize is that your skin-folk ain’t always your kin-folk. Sometimes it is people who look just like us (Crabs-in-a-barrel mentality) who are coming for us the hardest. I know this must hurt. I realize there are cultural ties as well, and one can feel conflicted about just picking up and moving to America. I hate Hollywood anyway, and to be completely honest with you, I would prefer if Rain would work outside of that system, possibly in indie films. I would hate for him to get tied into that desexualized/action-star trope that they saddle a lot of actors/actresses of color with. Asian men in particular.
As someone who has worked in the entertainment industry while in school (I worked with a talent agent here in Manhattan) I can say that if I were Miss Tae Hee–and from a PR standpoint, I would have had my people keep their mouth zipped. This is already a heated situation for Rain. As much as I would like to tell the world that Rain was my man LOL I wouldn’t say one peep until after that man was discharged. Hell, I wouldn’t have met him either. I know what it’s like to be lonely and need a little lovin’ but sometimes we have to bare down and be disciplined. :-p
I agree with everyone. Rain needs to come to the states and take some time for himself, heal and get his creative juices flowing. Korea is going to talk sh*t about him regardless so what difference does it make?

Trust and believe I will be using that one……..”your skin-folk ain’t always your kin-folk”. @nicoleh73, I think you are correct that Rain will be fine after this unfortunate situation blows over—he will get past his punishment (if any) for rules violation and move swiftly thru his duties until his discharge in July 2013. I’ve watched enough K-dramas that I was suspicious from the start of this issue—it seems like a set-up behind the scenes (insert envious people here). Now they will probably have a soldier/officer assigned to all ROK entertainment personnel to make sure they abide by the rules when operating outside the military base. After all is said and done, July 2013 offers a new beginning for Jung JiHoon because I know he already has plans in place to move his career forward. His tenacity and obvious determination will boost his ability to rise above it all……

We have a similar saying in Spanish which is translated, “nobody is a prophet in his own land”.
Just read the bible and see how many times people tried to stone their prophets because they didn’t like the message they share. Even Jesus was crucified by his own people. The Roman authority ( i think his name was Pilatos) back then tried really hard to save but his own people didn’t help him. So what can we really expect from his countrymen…..

There hasn’t been a lot of posting here in the past few days because frankly, what is there TO post? More of the same inflated stories and deliberate inaccuracies, back to back to back? We don’t do that here, as I’m sure you already know. We don’t throw up the same news rewritten a dozen different ways by different news sites just because they’re talking about Rain, particularly when we know the stories contain non-facts and untruths about what’s happening to him.
Instead, we have been investigating and researching and coming up with ways to help Rain and the Cloud and ferret out what truths we can, which takes a heck of a lot of time.
And we are waiting for the military’s FINAL finding on the matter so that we can post that.
Just an FYI.

I understand, Kongsao. Really, I do. It is so upsetting. I cannot even give words to how upset I am for JiHoon. But I also know that he has been through worse, much worse, and that he is going to come out of this just fine, no matter the result, no matter the punishment. He’s a champ and he can do it.
I think of how strong he is, and I channel that into what I’m doing because that’s what he needs from me most. Strength and concentrating on him instead of letting myself drown in the negative.
Because when it’s all said and done, he’s going to be smelling like a rose in Hollywood. And the countrymen who tried to lynch him out of spite will still be sitting at home in their recliners watching TV or on their laptops, getting older and going nowhere and wishing they had talent and digging their underwear out of their butts and scratching like the losers they are. LOL
Because that’s the REAL problem — they’re envious of what he’s managed to do with his life and they don’t want him to have it.

You know I was watching the news this morning and if you think this type of social media stuff can’t happen in the U.S., well think again.
There’s a case in Ohio (I believe) involving local high school football stars and a photo of them carrying an allegedly unconscious girl (pixelated) who they allegedly assaulted. Well, this social media vigilante group calling themselves Anonymous (wearing V for Vendetta masks) made a video saying they would not stand for high school stars getting away with assault, etc. This group hacked into computers got personal information, posted about the stars and the girl, their families. They also got audio from other football players. Then social media took over, people started calling the girl obvious names, etc. I mean this video went viral.
The part that is Eerily the same is how the on-air lawyer of this morning news show said that it makes it harder to bring justice in this case because so much false and inflammatory information has already been put out on the internet so the LAW has to ferret out from that stuff what exactly IS fact. So basically, from the Law’s standpoint they have to start “backwards” to get at the truth and it makes it damned hard to get justice on both sides and that’s not even getting to whatever laws the so called “vigilantes” broke if any. I won’t get into things like race, because quite frankly the whole TYPE of situation could happen to anybody at the wrong place/wrong time or caught in a compromising position or the APPEARANCE of a compromising position and basically your life can either be ruined or at the very least catch holy hell. At this point, they don’t even know IF that girl was unconscious (as was alleged). Social media has now become a real BEAST. You can be anonymous and just Take Over someone’s life. This is why I personally limit how much of this stuff I do online, because it has become a scary place out in the world……for real!

That is why we are so insistent that someone give us some translations of some articles that are more supportive of Rain, so that we can use them to counterpunch. The plan is to post another supportive article here based on the translations we receive and then send those translated supportive articles to our own Media here in the West. I’m going to be asking all of you for your help with that one. I have a few media contacts myself, but I am pretty sure that some of you have your own contacts as well.
So, hopefully, some of you will be comfortable with helping us to try and change the trajectory of this spin.

You know people (in general) just wouldn’t be satisfied with enjoying this thing called social media. Now, it’s at a point where the law will soon have to become more involved in the policing of it. Because it’s always a few “nut cases” who make it bad for the rest of us.
Pretty soon you will probably need more than just an email addy to get on social sites. More like “name, rank, serial no., first born, arm, leg…….” you get the point. There’s going to have to be a way for lawmakers and law enforcers to be able to catch and prosecute people who incite this sort of thing. There should not be Anyone who can just hide behind anonymity and change the course of someone else’s life just on a whim or just cause. There needs to be some kind of way for the law to trace directly back to you within seconds.
People bitch and moan about countries that live in a “police state” but if people keep doing things like this (all willy-nilly), then yeah a “police state” is what we will find ourselves in. As it stands right now, there Should be a way for a person to be EASILY identified. Pretty soon that will probably be taking place, Upfront before you can even post your first comment or set up your own blog or post your first instagram. Heck, YT now asks you to use your full name or give a reason why you can’t and they also have the uploading a pic option, just like on FB. As an entity, you can’t really blame them. YT itself also has extremely volatile commenters (in general), which I’ve always viewed as immature children trying to act like grown-ups.

Jjungjae…that’s what we are doing supporting him, definately more than his own country, I think. We have been venting our feelings here about the way he;s been treated and we are worried for him. I certainly think cloudUSA are more level-headed than those pop blogs. I don’t even bother to read the comments on those blogs cause I know I would get worked up and have to tell some people off.

I think DEMA has some explaining to do here, I mean they should protect their soldiers, specially when their personnel is under fire for being entertainers and are accused of having “privileges” that regular soldiers don’t have. People get mad when rules don’t apply to all people in the same way. They should be careful and keep their regulations in check. I can’t believe Rain did something without permission, that’s not him. I believe he did what he was told to do and took time- off when his superiors ordered him. Is their system what’s wrong in here. The good thing is that people are understanding better the situation but if DEMA don’t protect Rain, then his reputation will be tarnished. On the other hand, if they expect to have a staff of entertainment soldiers in the future, then they better get things straight and protect Rain cuz again, he’s not just any entertainer. I’m sure that entertainers in waiting of military service are watching closely this situation with Rain, they won’t say a word about it but they will be taking this nightmare into consideration for their military duty. I hope Rain can get out of this unharmed. I can’t wait for his release on May! Jesus, he should get his family and go away from Korea as soon as he’s able!! -__-

Why is everyone making such a big deal about Jihoon dating Kim Tae Hee? First of all Jihoon has been on plenty of dates with women but has never said who they were and they have never said anything either….now how can we be so SURE that this statement is really TRUE about them, if it is really true then I will be a happy camper and can’t wait for a wedding of theirs. I’ve been pretty confused as many, in barely three days I’ve been thinking “the military is like that parent who gives their child a toy and shortly after they scold him for using it”, “I only end up liking rascals or what?”, “they shouldn’t have given him privileges in the first place!”… And yes, I have read AKP and their comments.
Not only the country netizens, but people from abroad also seem to agree with their Korean counterparts in the most voted comments (Consarn it) And Hyun Bin, oh, I used to not care about the guy but they use him as a kind of a worshipping figure and throwing weapon. And I also see many comments about “I have a friend in Korea who wasn’t allowed to have more leaves”, “we have our asses frozen while they are inside their comfy barracks”, etc.
We tend to forget previous news, so the newcomers already take for granted the newest information even if is not absolutely true. And sadly it happens with all kinds of news. It’s amazing, the human nature towards the media, right?
Yes, let’s expect an official statement. And hope it is a detailed one so they can shut up as many mouths as possible with accurate data.
I really respect the fact that in spite of having a certain bias factor (you are a website about Rain) you still strive to put at least some order in all this mess. Thank you for making this article.

Ok dear fellow CLOUDS USA. I’ve been scrolling down, down, down and tried to keep up with all comments here. I’m glad that there most of my fellow clouds are still supporting baby bi. This thing has been awful but I would like now to share my thinking with you. I’m very disappointed with the ROK. I thought they had Rain’s back and unfortunately that doesn’t seem the case. Our baby boo had done everything he could to perform his duty. Even overdoing it, affecting his own health. What I see here is the the military got too excited with Rain and decided to use him in all possible ways without making a visible line for everybody to see including Rain himself of what is permitted and what is not. I’m sure he doesn’t move a finger or make any decision without getting a clearance from his superiors. They had not showed clear rules of what a celebrity can or cannot do until some people start complaining and then they decide to take action just so the ROK doesn’t look bad from their own poor choices or wrong decisions. Poor celebraties has to pay the price for Military mistakes. Now our dear rain will have to face whatever they decide to do with him. I hope they think really well on what’s going to be their next step. There’s only one good thing that will come out of this situation though. We will get to see if this relation is made of steel or just sand. If it’s going to stand anything or will crumble like a bad edification. Rain needs a strong woman in his life. Someone who will stand by him through thin and thick. Will Kim be this person? We just have to wait and see. I’ll will break my heart for Rain if it doesn’t work. But at least he will know for sure if it was worth it or not.

At first people were mad that Rain got too many days off. A day later they were mad that he used on duty days to meet up with Kim Tae Hee. A few hours later they are mad that he hasn’t been doing his job as a soldier now they are mad at him because he didn’t wear his damn beret and he fu(k3d it up for everyone in the military. Are they serious? I can’t even believe what I’m reading. Rain isn’t the only celebrity that doesn’t wear his beret. There has been pictures of other soldiers not wearing their beret and no one says s#h*t to them. They are the ones who keep on preaching that celebrities shouldn’t get special treatment in the first place. Contradicting themselves much? Also, Rain EARNED extra off days with all the stuff he does. And like I have said before, him meeting Kim Tae Hee when he is on duty is just an assumption with no evidence as back up and people are mad at him because of this. HOLY SMOKES, you guys are filling up my email inbox this is quite the discussion.
This is just the perfect example of people with so much hate and jealousy for people that have done well in life and taking what should be a thing to be happy about and nurtured in the hope of good thing to happen for Jung JiHoon and twisting it into something bad.
IF those people had never commented and started to spread rumors and speculations then Rain wouldn’t be under the microscope for these issues with the Army. Everyone given the opportunity will take advantage of a situation to get extra benefit from it and sadly more so for celebrity type people who are more likely to get these “opportunities” thrown their way, that’s human nature. So if he get’s disciplined then so be it but hopefully it will be fitting for the crime and not blown out of proportion due to the situation. This should not have come up in the first place or at the least not spread over the internet and dealt with within the Military itself.
Regardless, I support Jung JiHoon and I hope he and Kim Tae Hee can just grit their teeth and keep their heads down until the dust clears and they can attempt to continue to know each other. If that has not already been ruined.

But let’s do hope that Kim Tae Hee is made of stronger stuff. I think she is. First of all, she is a woman Rain was attracted to. We all know he is attracted to strong personalities. Second, this is a woman who has never ever EVER admitted to even having a boyfriend at all. She even sued 34 netizens who made up some insane story about her. And she did it fast and furiously too. But now, with Rain, she comes right out and says, yes, we are dating! That right there is a very good sign that she is a strong woman and can handle the heat. To admit you are dating is akin to horror over in Korea. So, that took a lot of guts right there.
It is bad enough to have to be punished for “dating” in the first place. (How ridiculous.) But to have the person who played a part in all this drama to abandon you? Well, MY GOD. That would just totally take the cake. Ji-Hoon would be devastated and I would never forgive her. Ever, ever ever.

This has been weighing very heavily on my mind and I cannot get over to what extent people go to and they don’t realize the damage they create. I sure hope his dad and sister do not get word of anything that is out there but chances are they have.
I would also think that for KTH to make an official statement about her relationship with Rain is that she had his approval to say so, wouldn’t you think he would need to take part in that decision. Also wonder if they knew they were being followed by media.

IMO, I’ve always felt they would have discussed (with each other) her coming forward. I don’t think she would have just made that decision without discussing it with him. Especially since I just became aware that she has had her own issues with netizens in the past. Knowing how volatile they can get. Also, I think most celebs (on their level) can always assume they are being followed. I’m sure they weren’t really all that surprised to be followed. However, I think that when their pics hit the internet, they probably expected Some negativity and netizen reaction, but absolutely Nothing like what this has turned into. I mean this morning I’ve seen that Several U.S. newspaper outlets (i.e., The Miami Herald, The Huffington Post to name a couple) have picked up the Associated Press version of this story. It has gotten that intense.

I’m sure he would have discussed it with her, but we’ve heard he couldn’t. According to some of my sources, he has been incommunicado ever since immediately after the news broke about their dating. The military was quick to act and he has basically been confined to his quarters. (And please do not go spreading that around. Otherwise, we’ll suddenly have headlines like “World Star Rain on house arrest” all over the freaking place.)
All because he made the bad decision to ride and chat with a girl. You gotta know that sticks in his craw.
The Korean military needs a good whupping. Rain’s got more discipline than I’ve ever seen in anyone. To me it makes no sense that he did not have the discipline to bite the bullet and tell Kim Tae Hee that he couldn’t risk seeing her, even during the holidays, and then, instead, would suddenly meet up with her to chat while riding around in her car. That just doesn’t make any freaking sense.
Which scenario is more likely? Did Rain really break the rules thinking he could get away with it? Or did he simply think he wasn’t doing anything wrong, because he had been given permission to do similar things before? Me, I’m going with the second one–and here’s why.
Rain’s Clouds who have been following him for a long time, and have seen him accused of so much trash by crazy people, have never ever seen him or discovered him behaving badly. Neither has anyone ever said that he was a liar, a cheater and a thief–which is basically what you are if you use official military duty time as your own. That’s serious stuff.
In an interview with one of his principle dancers for his first world tour (Menina Fortunato), I asked if she had ever seen Rain gamble. I asked that question because my interview with her took place during a time when his ethics were being questioned and he was undergoing a lawsuit against him that included accusations that he had a serious gambling problem. She said he was very down-to-earth and a consummate professional. She had never seen anyone treat their dancers so well. She also said that the idea of Rain’s having a gambling problem was a load of crap.
Frankly, I think the entire ROK military needs to change their ways and make their military more palatable to ALL of the soldiers who have to serve. It is unbelievable to me, in the 21st century, we have such antiquated thinking in a military organization. However, I also don’t get this concept of whining because entertainment soldiers get more “privileges” than other soldiers.
ALL military culture, no matter where you are, is based on rank and privilege and honor. In my mind, the fact that Rain was a higher rank and a better soldier than others gave him more privileges does not bother me at all. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. That scenario fits within military culture. However, Rain wasn’t being very honorable if he broke the rules. Therein lies the problem. So let me repeat. If DEMA uncovers that Rain broke any of the rules that govern his military service, then he should be disciplined. But that discipline should be applied fairly and only for the specific infractions that Rain committed. He should not be punished for a screwy system, where his superiors weren’t doing their jobs, because that’s not his bloody fault.
Superior officers are supposed to protect their men, not lead them to slaughter. Any good military leader knows that. So, in my humble opinion, after all this is over, some superior somewhere in the PR Division had better be out of a freaking JOB.

You know what maybe that’s the intent. To make Bi look bad in the U.S. before he even gets to work here in earnest. He has been more than vocal about wanting out in July and his intent to come here. Maybe that pissed somebody off. What they (netizens/media) don’t seem to realize is while Americans do look up to individuals who put their best foot forward and keep to their obligations, etc. this stuff they are trying their level best to smear him with……..we don’t and wouldn’t give two sh*ts about. American culture doesn’t waste time getting worked up about who wore the proper military attire or who celebrities date. This man has gone through so much in his life. it is a shame that the God of Spite follows him no matter what he does. Don’t get what is happening to him over such petty (to me) things. What concerns me is his current state of mental health. Although his past has made him strong, has it made him strong enough to bear this? Anyone can make silly, stupid mistakes and have to take the consequences but to have an entire country trying to punish you is probably to much for any one human to bear. He seems to be Frankenstein’s monster and the village is chasing him—-Good grief. I hope that his inner strength will carry him through this with only a scar to show for it. I hope that he is getting emotional support from his inner circle. I hope that he knows there are people that will stand behind him no matter what the outcome. I hope that people will realize that he is human and forgive him.(although I don’t know what he did that was so evil) I can’t even begin to imagine the inner turmoil he must be going through, he must be suffering so very much. Good God. I went to bed and now I see this shit storm is still brewing this morning. Well, all I can say is JiHoon, Clouds are behind you 100%. Yes, the lack of support he is getting in Korea is absolutely heartbreaking.
The crux of the matter is the blurring of military rules and regulations boundaries for celebrities. Because of the duties Rain was assigned (entertaining, recording, traveling for the military), he was allowed privileges that other soldiers do NOT get. That is at the heart of many Koreans’ anger at him. As a celebrity soldier and a military ambassador, Rain is allowed many privileges that other soldiers are not, and yet he STILL took even further advantage of his position by breaking rules that he should have been following all along. So, now they view him as a cocky SOB.
So. As a military ambassador and celebrity, Rain was aware that everyone was watching him and that he had to be on his best behavior, and yet the word is that he still broke some military rules anyway. Which rules he actually broke is anyone’s guess at this point, because the breaking news is all over the place and DEMA hasn’t even completed their investigation. Right now, Rain is confined to the barracks and is waiting for DEMA’s decision. They are supposed to make an official announcement sometime today (in Korea).
What we think about those rules doesn’t matter. He is a soldier in the ROK Army, and I’m pretty sure he knew the rules. That still doesn’t mean we can’t support him and love him and make sure that he is not unduly vilified for committing extremely minor offenses. And we will.
All I can say, though, is I sure as hell hope Kim Tae Hee is worth it.

Terri, I hope Tae Hee’s was “laced in gold” cause all I know, he couldn’t possibly have seen this coming, not like this. Not to worry though, those of us who still walk among individuals of SOUND mind will continue to support him. DEMA needs to be thorough this is true but they need to quell some of the anger, so I hope their statement comes sooner rather than later.

There is so much misinformation out there, that my head is spinning. There are so many rumors floating around that we can’t tell fact from fiction anymore. Right now, I don’t think anyone knows what the truth is–not even his official fan club execs and maybe not even Rainy Entertainment. And that worries me a lot.

I never fully believe what Soompi or allkpop report on their site but the problem is the netizens believe everything they’re reading. Most of those commenting are not and never have been real Rain fans and are too ready to tear him apart. Everyone should take those posts over there with a grain of salt.
FYI though, I know when I was in the military, whenever I wore my uniform outside, I was expected to wear the beret also, to the point where I felt funny if I didnt have it on.
Let’s hope that Rain will have a light sentence and Lord, please don’t let him have to do his service again, that would be murder.

Like Terri said that earlier this morning DEMA said that not wearing his beret wasn’t a official punishment, he is getting punished for it now. I have stated that to those preaching about him meeting Kim Tae Hee in his on duty days should tone it down since it is currently being investigated -.-

I don’t know about Kim Tae Hee cuz I really don’t know her but I find hard to believe that she will do something bad against Rain. What I thought it was kind of fishy was that Rainy wasn’t taking any action to do some damage control, after all, Rain is still their client. If there are news about DEMA clearing Rain they should be the ones to post the article in the media. Don’t you think? To me that’s weird. Maybe they don’t want to make a mistake and talk before DEMA but really, it’s getting too nasty out there for Rain, they should do something before things get out of hand. People are getting really mad. I fear for Rain, people in Korea can get violent. God bless him! I can’t understand why he’s being thrown to the wolves like that! Ok Rainy just made a statement saying that Rain apologizes for not using the damn hat outside the base. Also, that the military will look into days off given to entertainers. People are blaming the military now instead of Rain. At least that’s better for his reputation! But we’ll have to wait for next week to know what punishment Rain will received for the damn hat issue. Lord, I hope this nightmare ends next week!! 😦

I can’t believe this much s**t is happening to Rain right now. It’s ridiculous. I will try and ask someone I know if they can translate something. I keep checking Naver oh golly SO much stuff is coming out and its the number one thing being read. I’m scanning over the comments and it’s just crazy.

This is when the saying "no kiss and tell" should come to play.
Also I'm really surprised that Jihoon WOULD (if its true) use the extra days he entitiled to as a celebrity (if he were using them for something other than his morale performance duties.) He's just the type to not want a short cut, not want special treatment, to be treated normal. BUT nothing is confirmed and in no way have I lost love or respect for the man. If it does come he violated terms by not wearing his beret then the rightful punishment is just. I totally understand how stict uniforms are. I just wish the best for dear Rain. I'm thinking there might not be consolatory train for a few weeks?

I honestly have never been on this site ( what was I missing out on!? ) but always had a big respect for Rain and his terrific work ethic. Anyway I really admire and enjoy his performances and personality.
Can I say that with the recent military scandal I am SO relieved to find your comments on Cloud USA! I had recently discovered the news on Allkpop and I enjoy looking through the forums and what not from time to time. Mostly its entertaining but my lord the comments after this incident! All the hate was very overwhelming.
I’m glad those fans in support of Rain speak sanely. I was, initially, very disappointed with the news and it worried me a lot to see how it would affect him in the future. Mostly I was irked about how little some soldiers get to see their families and go on breaks versus celebrities- which as I read the comments, I did agree why that seems unfair ( However whether those were accurate on those forums… ehhhh ) . However I was surprised that some people reacted as if this was the first time something like this happened which it is definitely not.
BTW I am certainly and in NO way all that knowledgable on korean military service. This may not have much to do with it… ah please don’t be mad!
That was the one issue that bothered me and a lot of the previous comments provided on this page relieved a lot of my fear.

And yes, the hate currently being directed towards Rain is terribly alarming. This is a man who one day the Korean people called a “national treasure” and then the next they reviled. Their lack of loyalty is incredible to me.
We certainly understand why some people would be frustrated that entertainment soldiers get more days off post than other soldiers. The problem is that is the nature of their job. They all signed up to be entertainers in the Army. They were allowed to do that. In fact, most of them were encouraged to do that, because not to do that would have been a waste of their amazing talent. I do believe, however, if Rain had known how much flack he was going to get for becoming an entertainment soldier, he would not have applied to the program. I don’t think he had any idea that the controversy would be so bad. We also know that he was allowed time off post for other important reasons that haven’t yet been shared with his fans. (They will be soon, after DEMA’s investigation has finished and they and the disciplinary committee make an official statement.)
We also believe that all of the people who are trying to prove their arguments against Rain are 1) miscounting the days he has taken off by including days when he was simply doing his duty as a PR soldier, and 2) ignoring all of the news which include positive statements about Rain from DEMA (because frankly, they hope he crashes and burns). We have been informed that there is positive news out there that indicate Rain has been cleared of any wrongdoing, but that an thorough investigation is still in progress. We think DEMA is working on investigating these issues very thoroughly because they are very frustrated with all of this controversy. We’ve even heard DEMA representatives call what is going on with Rain a “witch hunt.”
However, we are still waiting on the English translations of all of those reports. And on top of that, while there is an investigation going on, Rain can’t even speak up for himself. Why? Because he is not allowed to while an investigation is underway.

That is what we suspect too. My only consolation in this is that the man had to know what he was in for when he decided to pursue Kim Tae Hee. I mean they wouldn’t like any woman he dated, for sure, but Kim Tae Hee is the ultimate of the ultimate, apparently.
So, he had to have known that to pursue her meant his life was going to be hell for awhile.

Again, I will reiterate, that Rain would not have been allowed to leave his army post if his superiors hadn’t allowed it. He may have been allowed to take too much leave, but if he had a legitimate reason to request it and his superiors allowed him to leave, then the persons they should be investigating are Rain’s superiors, not Rain.

DEMA has already cleared Rain of any wrongdoing. We are trying to get someone to translate their statement now. But strangely, we can’t get anyone to translate the article out there that says he hasn’t done anything wrong.
But the articles in Korean that are crucifying him are being translated EVERYWHERE. And the article here: http://www.newspim.com/view.jsp?newsId=20130102000958, which indicates he has been CLEARED, NOBODY has picked up at all.

Have to agree with you wholeheartedly there. His superiors approved his leave. For his sake I hope he kept copies of the signed off on leave as well. It’s what I do at my own job. It’s called C.Y.A.
Also, I’m not putting to much stock in any of these Allkpop articles, especially the one about a day off every 4 days. That makes no sense just in general. What job have you ever been on in your life where you would be allowed to take a day off every 4 days. None, unless you your office has THE best flexible working hours Ever! OMG this is total MADNESS!!! Thanks girls for that article that clears Rain of any wrongdoing! This gives me some peace! It would be awesome if this article is posted on Allkpop and Soompi cuz in their articles, people are cutting Rain to pieces!! People are confused and so mad at Rain! I couldn’t take the horrible comments people are posting there so I stoppped reading. I hope Rain can get out of this madness without any harm cuz this time is awful! Wow…!!!..I just come back from getting over being food poison and I read that Jihoon is being investigated and his relationship with Kim Tae Hee….dang what a nice way to start the new year off…but… I’m happy that Terri and Stephe have cleared up everything and I agree with everyone on here. I wanted to say once again thanks to Stephe and Terri for keeping us informed of the facts. I don’t know what we’d do without you. Stephe, your editorial this morning was excellent and I had been waiting for it. Terri, thanks for posting that JJH had been cleared of any wrong doing. After reading that I actually felt like I could breath again. I don’t understand how, for a lousy buck, people can write such lies that can destroy a person’s reputation, and sometimes their lives. There has to be a special place in hell for people like this. I cannot imagine how this must make him feel..knowing his own countrymen are writing such horrible lies and comments about him. It has got to hurt deeply. Someone wrote earlier that they didn’t think Korea realized his worth. They don’t. This man has been one of the greatest ambassadors Korea has ever had. He didn’t just get the rest of Asia to take notice of Korea, but he got the whole world to take notice. I wish only the best for him and Tae Hee. Good grief, this man deserves to be happy.

The reason we and his Clouds at home get so worried about ‘netizens’ and their ugliness towards Rain is if you give them enough room, they will destroy his life. They have done it multiple times to other stars already.
The worse case I know of is with Tablo. Tablo (Daniel Lee), one of Epik High’s rappers, is a Korean-born Canadian, whose career was, for all practical purposes, totally destroyed by netizens in Korea all because of a RUMOR started by a jealous cousin. Tablo is an incredibly successful and gifted rapper, musician and composer. He earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English and Creative Writing, respectively, from Stanford University, and he did it in three years.
His cousin, who Tablo had never had a good relationship with and who was envious of his success, simply wondered outloud one day how Daniel had gotten two degrees from such a prestigious university in such a short amount of time–especially since Tablo had never really been a great student in the first place.

WOW, I just read that Wired magazine article Terri. Talk about mob mentality to the nth degree…Good Mercy! A man’s life was put into ruins because his cousin was in a word….jealous. He put the negative energy out there and the mob ran with it. What’s truly scary is how Easily the lie is believed and still believed by some even though it was proven false. I’m glad to see the young rapper was able to make a turn around. I’ll tell you what. I give him credit. There is no way in hell I would have stayed there, at least I don’t think I would have. As much as change unnerves a bit, I would have said “family we are outta here.” That craziness made me “shake” just reading about what happened to that young man.
The truly Bizarre part is it’s just entertainment, that’s all. If you don’t like somebody’s movies/music/reputation……just don’t buy it or go to see it or support their career on any monetary level. Simple.

The report from the Department of Defense is quoted to state that ordinary soldiers have 32 days of vacation and a maximum of 50 days of break.
And all soldiers are in a position to earn extra days that their troop mates don’t, as far as I know.

Soldiers earn points for everything. They earn points for doing a damned good job cleaning their room, for shooting a rifle better than everyone else, for doing a good job doing all of the duties they are assigned.
They also get points for performing in shows and for doing extra “ambassador” duties for the military. (Which Rain IS, by the way and not everyone gets those kind of points.)
Just like every other soldier in the Army, if Rain was not authorized leave, he would not take it. Period. He wouldn’t be able to. All leaves of absences (I.e., vacations from service) are required to be approved by a soldier’s superior. They have to sign out and sign in whenever they come and go. They get “passes” to leave the army post, and if the reason for their pass doesn’t make sense, then it gets revoked.
So, it doesn’t make any real sense to say that Rain is taking unauthorized or improper leave, because that just doesn’t happen. If it does, then the soldier is considered to be AWOL (absent without leave) and when that happens, the military police will put out an APB (all points bulletin) on your @ss, and try to locate you. And when they find you, they will haul your @ss back to the army post and throw you in the slammer. And there you will stay until they can figure out what to do with you.
Rain was off post so much mainly because he has to practice for shows, record his radio show and travel for all of those damned Consolatory Train shows. Some overnight trips were involved when Rain performed in the Consolatory Train if the performances were in remote locations–which meant he had to stay in a hotel offpost those nights.
He performed in those shows for his fellow soldiers. He performed for I-don’t-know-how-many months almost every single day (sometimes even TWICE a day). Interestingly, his fellow soldiers seemed to thoroughly enjoy his presence and they aren’t the ones complaining. I’ve even seen some soldiers complain that the news targeting Rain isn’t fair, that the rules have relaxed somewhat and that many soldiers had been getting more days off than they used to. One guy even said that he had had 52 days off himself, and he didn’t understand what the big deal was.
The main problem is National Assembly member Lee Suk Hyun, of Korea’s Democratic United Party, who has issues with the PR Support Team that Rain is part of. Lee Suk Hyun has been critical of the PR Division many times in the past, because he believes that it’s unnecessary, irrelevant and a waste of money.
In October 2012, he released a “study” (and I use the term very loosely) of public military records that showed a count of Rain’s (and others’) vacation days and overnight leaves during his time of service. This “study” indicated that throughout his current service, Rain has taken a total of 62 vacation days in all. Let me reiterate. Rain has not done anything wrong.
And Mr. Lee Suk Hyun is a POLITICIAN. That right there should tell you EXACTLY what the problem is.

There is not one Ounce of rationality in that country when it comes to celebrity IMO. It can get pretty crazy over here too no doubt about it, but damn for the most part level heads prevail or the law will knock you on top of your head and bounce your @ss back into rationality. Yeah, yeah, yeah I get that there are cultural differences, but being rational doesn’t belong to just one country or one culture of people. Rational means the same thing around the world or at least it should.
Bottom line, this is the “fuel” that will give Bi the power to be on the next train, plane, boat coming to the U.S. and say to Korea……”Buh-bye!” I have given you all my life’s blood now I can cut the tie without any more obligations held over my head and no regrets. It’s called “cutting the apron strings”, “clean break”, “fresh start” and my personal favorite……”getting the hell outta Dodge.”
As far as the relationship part goes, that’s the craziest part of all. Asia is a continent with BILLIONS of people on it. Anybody wanna guess how the hell all those billions came into being? I only recall one Virgin Mary throughout history. So people really this roasting a man at the stake for going some damned dates is RIDICULOUS….truly and just makes no sense.

We over here in the U.S. do not get the hype over whatever Rain is doing on his leaves from the service. I’m sure he tho wouldnt do anything agaisnt the rules. That just isn’t our Rain. Now I REALLY can’t wait untill July. Baby needs to get that over with and then do what he realy wants to do; record those songs he has running around in his head all the time. I know fans will want him to rest after he is released but knowing Rain he will want to go directly to the studio and record a album. He wants to show how much his fans mean to him.

We have not been informed of any ongoing investigation where Rain is concerned. There is an ongoing investigation regarding the leave policy, but I haven’t heard anything about any other investigations involving Rain.
All the DEMA representative said was that their investigation of Rain’s activities that everyone is complaining about did not reveal any violations and they cleared him and said he did nothing wrong.
If we do hear of any additional issues, we will certainly let everyone know.

I had read this article on another site and at the time when I read it there there were no confirmations of any sort. However now…..thanks to Cloud USA…..that there has been confirmation and Rain is indeed dating Kim Tae Hee…..then good for him…well for them both actually. Some of the comments I read on this other website were just dreadful. Rain deserves to be happy, why burn him at the stake and treat him like he needs to be forever alone? I hope this doesn’t discourage them to keep moving forward in this relationship…..it’s just barely beginning and it’s already being tarnished. Who knows, she might be his future wife and baby mama. 😀
Also correct me if I am wrong but why all the hate about Rain and his military duties, has he not been fulfilling his role and making South Korea proud? It’s just nonsense…. it really is.

I trust rain. I’m sure the times he met up with Kim Tae Hee where on holidays and not when he was supposed to be on duty. He works his butt off like any other Korean solider and earns his holidays with promotion I believe. The thing of leaving sixty times is a bit exaggerated IMO but since he does perform a lot he has to rehearse. Also he has a radio program to host with another fellow solider. He’s a hard worker and he has been praised because of this- why are people forgetting this?
The problem isn’t the leaves the problem is that people are ASSUMING that while he was on duty and not holidays he met up with Kim Tae Hee thus why they are investigating him. Compared to MC Boom and Shinhwa’s Andy (I think) who left more than 100 times, Rain’s supposedly 60 times of leaving is not a lot and he’s getting judged by that. I think it’s impossible for a famous person to not get special treatment and since Rain is a big star it’s no question. I don’t think is naive to think that maybe someone is out to get him since he is meeting up with Korea’s sweetheart, right?
I have a question Rain is… What kind of solider? Is he doing the hard work like the rest of the non famous soldiers or is he just doing office duty like most celebrities do? I’m sorry if I’m mistaken but I don’t have this cleared

And LeeTeuk was given special exemption to make a surprise appearance at the SBS Awards to accept his entertainment award on stage with Super Junior the other day, though he’s only fresh out of boot camp, when Rain was’t allowed to make the one trip to his own movie’s premiere with his cast mates, a movie that the military actually participated in…
Individual to individual, no one’s duties will ever be served exactly like anyone else’s, that’s for sure…

Rain does hard work like everybody else. Most of them do. He digs ditches, goes on every 3K run, freezes on guard duty and overnight hikes, scrubs floors, has equipment classes, learns field combat, etc. (in addition to hosting the radio show and traveling all over to boost morale.) He chose not to sit in an office. Ordinary soldiers have pretty much attested to this in their letters home to their families.

I always find it interesting that people … aka Fans think it’s a bad thing that their celebrities are looking for love (in all the wrong places …. sorry couldn’t resist 😉 ) Once again he seems to be property and as such can not have a life of his own only available for their entertainment.
I understand it’s part of the fantasy to hope that one day your eye would meet across a room (or stage) and it would be love at first sight and happily ever after. Yadda yadda yadda But REALLY how likely it to happen, even to the ladies that actually live in Korea. Can’t say I didn’t have a little pang of sadness myself BUT I also am delighted that he is in “like” with someone and she seems to be very cute and hopefully if all goes well they will have a long happy life together and make many many little girls for Rain. (but a Rain Jr. would be nice too).

It must be that when one has such a high celebrity status that a private life is really out of the question. Very high prize to pay. Rain has probably been down this road before with media frenzy over his love life and he knows exactly how to handle this.
I for one am extremely happy for him and I can see why she is considered to be the most beautiful actress because she is so this makes for one beautiful couple like others have said.
About military leave, my first thought is someone has had to approve these leaves and he probably earned them fair and square.
Wish them both nothing but happiness as their relationship blossoms and hopefully this frenzy will die down now that it is out in the open and not have media lurking in the bushes at every sight of them (probably no such luck!)

Sometimes I start to think that South Korea doesn’t know his worth ..He represents his country so good more than anyone else.He is a world star..but they don’t give him the credit he deserves.Rain is a hardworking guy and doesn’t deserve these kind of treatment.

As far as I’m concerned if he’s happy I love it. Just wish people would let the man have a love life and respect his privacy.
However I know that’s impossible, but maybe that’s why he said he was taking 6 months off? And in the states? Atleast he’ll get complete space and privacy since he’s not yet as well known here.

Bingo!……as I said this is the “fuel” he can use to leave a country that has a love/hate relationship with him. His die hard fans/netizens would have a coronary anyway (that much is obvious) whenever he decided to leave for the U.S. So hey, with the “controversy party” underway and the soon to come “Rain/Tae Hee media stakeouts” intensifying (as they surely will) in the coming months, what better excuse could you have to completely separate yourself from that hostile situation?
