[ETA Eng trans][audio clip] Rain and KCM’s 질주본능/Speeding Instinct military radio show. (12/23)

— Cloud Cover by Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^

It’s time for another installment of Rain and KCM’s need for speed (with a pre-recorded segment). Rain flew solo during his Christmas music show (with the exception of C-Luv’s hour #2 segment), and the playlist was awesome. When an English translation becomes available, we’ll post it here. Please enjoy it. 🙂

[Rain]&[KCM] : Rain&KCM’s “The Desire To Speed”!

[Rain] : Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. At this time last year, I was diligently mopping floors with a dust cloth and the polished floors glowed richly, but I plan to have a holiday this Christmas. hahaha.

Well, let me make you laugh, according to this radio show PD’s earnest appeal. (laughs) One plus one is sweety. Two plus two is sweety. Three plus three is sweety. Four plus four is sweety. Five plus five is sweety. Six plus six is sweety. (laughs) Anyway, I hope you all have a fun time again today. (laughs) {LOL! Okay, Mr. or Ms. Program Director… 😛 – S. ^@@^}

[Rain] : There are a lot of concerts being held around Christmas time. I think I’ll hold a concert in Las Vegas at this time next year. Actually, not long ago I was asked to hold a concert in Las Vegas from my agency in USA by email, but I declined their invitation through my manager, saying ‘I really appreciate your offer, but I think it’s {impossible} to do so because I’m serving in the army’. I think they presumed I could hold a concert even during my military service like Elvis Presley.

By the way, in cold weather around Christmas time some years ago, I was barely able to reach a ceremony awards venue on time by having motorcycle messenger’s service in the back of his motorcycle. At that time I was pressed for time since I was suddenly having scheduling conflicts and that’s why I could easily lose my life doing this job.

[Rain] : Listener ‘Minwon'(from Japan), “My Korean teacher said she would stop working. It is regrettable that I have to part with her, but I’m glad I’ve made many friends from Korea, thanks to corporal ‘Jung J Hoon’ (Rain).”

I’m sure you can make many new good friends.

-‘The Christmas carol songs I’d Like To Share’-

[Rain] : Now it’s time to experience the happiness of Christmas in advance. Let me advise you about how to make a woman your girlfriend. Please find a set of circumstances that have all three: music and surrounding environment, delicious food, and polite attitude. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again. (more than 10 times). In my case, my ex-girlfriend accepted when I asked her out on a date once or twice. (laughs) {Success is guaranteed if you can also either 1) chest pump, 2) hip grind, 3) sing Love Song, or 4) grin EXACTLY like world star Rain during your date. Trust! – S. ^@@^}

Now I’m running a special feature on Christmas.

Part 1 :

[Rain] : ‘Lynden David Hall’s ‘All You Need Is Love’ from the ‘Love Actually’, O.S.T. & Rain’s Handshake’ are recommended.

(‘Lynden David Hall’s ‘All You Need Is Love’ & Rain’s Handshake’)

[Rain] : I’ll make a big comeback with a new song in just 7 months. I can feel energy surging from inside when I think about that. I’ll show you something surprising then. {Sounds like you’re going to come out of the gate swinging without wasting a lick of time, Boo. I’ll just bet you will surprise us. After all, you are the master of reinvention! So excited. 🙂 – S. ^@@^}

By the way, I hope you will stop staying inside the house and go around outside at Christmas, and watching fun movies about Christmas or having a girlfriend (or boyfriend) is another great way to enjoy Christmas.

Part 2 :

[Rain] : ‘Kim Tae Woo’s ‘Snow Of Love’ & Mr. Two’s ‘White Winter’ are recommended.

‘Snow Of Love’ failed to be a hit as far as I remember, and ‘White Winter’ was very popular when I was a child. I think the music can bring back old memories.

(‘Kim Tae Woo’s ‘Snow Of Love’ & Mr. Two’s ‘White Winter’)

Part 3 :

[Rain] : Listener ‘Son Su O’ is our regular listener, so I’m thinking of holding her tight in my arms to keep my promise that I’ll give regular listeners big hugs on the day when I leave the army, as I said before.

[Rain] : Listener ‘Son Su O’, “I request George Michael’s ‘Last Christmas’. My ex-boyfriend and I belong to the same family lineage, and Korean people think the marriage of a couple with the same surname and same place of family origin is immoral. We had been having a good relationship as friends quite a long while. But, he has cut all ties with me since he drove me into a rage after I found my sweetheart. It is understandable that he is angry, but I wonder how he has been these days.”

[Rain] : Listener ‘Masami’, “I request ‘Nat King Cole’s ‘Love’. The music always eases my mind. I want to listen to the music, having coffee.”

(George Michael’s ‘Last Christmas’ & ‘Nat King Cole’s ‘Love’)

[Rain] : When ‘Kim Te Woo’ and I went to a ski resort a couple of years ago, our car was sliding and fell into an iced puddle. Before this, I said to him that we should iron up our tires, but he dipped his toe in and that’s why we were in such an accident. And, I was ever undervalued and talked down to by ‘Kim Te Woo’ in connection with ‘Nat King Cole’, but it is difficult for me to say clearly what the reason is because I’m so shamed. (laughs)

——————————————————————

18:23~22:03

[Rain] : Listener ‘Izmidone’, “My son entirely believed in Santa when he was a kid, and I did not want to burst the young boy’s bubble by telling him there was no Santa Claus, but now he is a big boy as he knows all the facts.”

When I was in fifth grade, I went over to my aunt’s house on Christmas Eve and hung up my stocking on that evening before sleeping. I saw her putting some money in my stocking in the middle of the night. I would like to take this chance to express my thanks to her.

[Rain] : Listener ‘#0760’, “Our new home has been under construction these days. I’m in seventh heaven in my newly constructed home. I’m enjoying the time I’m listening to the show.”

[Rain] : Listener ‘#9785’, “My nephew will be enlisted at 306 Supplement next Tuesday. I hope he’ll commit himself to his duty for 21 months.”

{Because Koreans are} under obligation to protect the country, young men must go to army. Hope he’ll do his best to serve in the army.

[Rain] : Listener ‘Yuko’, “There are lots of drinking parties at the end of the year. Any unique or strange habits when you drink?”

When I drink a lot, I just sleep. I think I have poor blood circulation. {You also talk complete nonsense, as you’ve said. Which is what I do, too. Boy, it wouldn’t do for us both to be in the same karaoke room hyped up on soju bombs. LOL! – S. ^@@^}

[Rain] : Listener ‘#9126’, “I’m listening to the show by driving very fast on the highway, which makes me feel better.”

Thank you.

—————————————————–

22:44~27:55

[Rain] : Listener ‘Kim Jung Howa’, “I’m supposed to be introduced to a man at a group party on Christmas Eve. I want to know what type of girls men like.”

There is no absolute standard of beauty. Please make the most out of your strengths. If you show an active attitude, you may meet a better man than expected.

[Rain] : Listener ‘#9021’, “A water main in our neighborhood froze and burst, and the owner of a beauty parlor where I’m regular, had no running water for several hours, so I only had my hair cut there, but she didn’t receive the money.”

The service at that beauty parlor is good.

[Rain] : Listener ‘#8921’, “Now I’d like some foods that are confections.”

When I arrived at LA Airport for the first time in my life, I went to a cafe around there and ordered Caramel Macchiato coffee with sugar in it. But the middle aged big fatty woman employee pretended not to understand what I was talking about. With the help of a male customer in the cafe, I was barely able to order the coffee. I think she intentionally embarrassed me in front of everyone probably because I appeared like a pushover.

[Rain] : Listener ‘Nakkami’, “I want to walk with my dog, but he (dog) insists on not going out probably because the weather is very cold.”

My dog ‘Baegu’ (alias, Janguny) is a very neat personality. (laughs) He hates getting dirt on his legs and he often removes the dust on his hairs with his tongue. Even he runs to the mirror and looks at himself. (laughs) I think he’s quite a character. (laughs) {We think he takes after his daddy. Except for the removing dirt with his tongue part. Haha! 😛 – S. ^@@^}

-Talk About Christmas Carols With ‘Kim Tae Wan’-

[Rain] : Welcome, ‘Kim Tae Wan’, it’s great to have you on our show.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Nice to meet you. I feel something’s missing in my heart perhaps because KCM isn’t here. (laughs)

[Rain] : I don’t mind even if he doesn’t come. (laughs) By the way, I doubt we figured we’d host the radio show together before my enlistment. (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : Yes, indeed. (laughs)

[Rain] : I’m lucky to have this really great partner.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Me too.

[Rain] : What do you remember most about Christmas?

[Kim Tae Wan] : Every year on Christmas Day, I used to feel lonely because I split up with my girlfriend and was alone. This thought is suddenly bringing me down.

[Rain] : That’s why you acquire an enviable reputation for artistic ability.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Thank you.

—————————————————–

[Rain] : What’s the talk going to be about today?

[Kim Tae Wan] : I want to introduce various Christmas Carols.The word carol comes from the Latin word for “choraulien”. Carol was later known throughout Europe, and it gained an amazing level of popularity in France. This custom was firmly established in 1700~1800.

[Rain] : As far as I know, ‘Mariah Carey’ is best remembered as the singer whose soulful voice and musical interpretations have made her one of the bestselling Christmas Carol vocalists in history. Her album containing Christmas Carols released in 1994, sold nearly 4 million copies. I bought the CD in a department store called Crystal in Shinchon when I was in fifth grade.

[Kim Tae Wan] : She must be a great singer.

When Justin Bieber released his single ‘Mistletoe’, his voice started breaking, but he showed off his undiminished ability as the song was a mega hit.

(Justin Bieber’s ‘Mistletoe’)

[Rain] : Come to think of it, there are only two days left until Christmas.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Your words bring back painful associations for me. (laughs)

[Rain] : You will always have the bad as well as the good in the world. They can happen to anybody. I think you can master your mind through mind control. {Yes! Preach! – S. ^@@^}

[Kim Tae Wan] : Let me introduce ‘Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ to you. Producer ‘Jermaine Dupri’ wrote a new hip-hop version of the song.

(‘Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ )

[Rain] : Korean gagman {comedian} ‘Shim Hyung Rae’ was famous even as a singer singing comically. (laughs) He is better known by his professional name of ‘Youngu’. Seeing him showcasing comic roles in movies or dramas or comic shows, could be comforting in times of my trouble when I was younger.

[Kim Tae Wan] : He is one of my favorite gagmen. Old memories come vividly to mind. (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : Chris Brown’s ‘This Christmas’ is the theme song for the movie of the same name.

( Chris Brown’s ‘This Christmas’)

[Rain] : I think I can feel the Christmas atmosphere around me while listening to those Christmas Carols. Christmas reminds me of movie ‘Home Alone’, ‘Love Actually’, and ‘Die Hard’.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Christmas oddly reminds me of Blade. (laughs) Sorry. I often felt miserable at Christmas. (laughs)

[Rain] : I bought gorgeous underwear {by} mistake for a padding jacket when I was a high school student. (laughs) I flaunted the clothes, not knowing the fact, but I was just teased by my friends and I was embarrassed to death. (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : Escape’s ‘Christmas Without You’ is sad song unlike a Christmas carol.

(Escape’s ‘Christmas Without You’)

[Rain] : The music evokes memories of the time when I was a high school student.The knitwear that my girlfriend bought me on Christmas {at} the time, rings in my heart.

[Kim Tae Wan] : A great while ago, I had an appointment with a woman on Christmas when I had dated with her only a short time. On the day, the sudden heavy snow caused a traffic jam in downtown Seoul and I had no choice but to break the appointment. I got out of the taxi and ran hurriedly to arrive at the meeting place though I was late, but she had already gone. I had called her several times but she didn’t answer the phone. She seemed more interested in dating with another man.

[Rain] : She was much more likely to be attracted to such a man who might have his own car. (laughs)

You can make a song and name it like that, “You Have A Car, But I Don’t Have A Car’ (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : That song may bring tears to my eyes. (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : ‘Boyz II Men’ participated in ‘Baby Face’s ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ as rappers. {They’ve} got a really good friendship and made the hard work easier.

(‘Baby Face’s ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ )

[Rain] : How old were you when she stood you up?

[Kim Tae Wan] : I was in my early twenties.

[Rain] : The man who she liked more than you must be in his late 20s. She may now be regretting not having dated with you. (laughs)

[Kim Tae Wan] : ‘Yolanda Adams’ is famous as a gospel vocalist in the world.

[Rain] : When we hear such gospels, we are deeply impressed. {That’s probably why, when we listen closely, we can hear some gospel backgrounds in several of your songs. Very cool. 🙂 – S. ^@@^}

It’s time to wrap it up.

[Kim Tae Wan] : Is it that late already?

[Rain] : I’m afraid that’s the way it is. Thank you for coming in today, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope you’ll prepare uplifting music next time.

[Kim Tae Wan] : I’d be glad to. I’m thinking of preparing your songs.

[Rain] : I hate listening to my songs. (laughs) Because I’ve listened to them a few thousand times already. (laughs) Can we run a special feature on me next time? (to the PD) (laughs) I’m just kidding (laughs).Songs such as ‘Young Man’, ‘You Raise Me Up’, ‘My Way’, etc. can boost our confidence and give us hope. Please be sure to keep your appointment.

See you next week. Thank you.

[Kim Tae Wan] :Thank you.

( ‘Yolanda Adams’ ‘O Holy Night’)

———————————————————

[Rain] : Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Gifts will be provided for #9022, ‘Kim Junng Howa’, ‘#9785’, and ‘#9021’. Please leave your phone numbers and names in private in its bulletin board.

This has been Rain. Thank you.

END BROADCAST

{I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas show. The music was terrific, the Clouds twitter-trending were lively, and JiHoon (and C-Luv) was on his game. Merry Christmas, Corporal. Thanks for keeping all your domestic and global fans company in anticipation of the holiday! – S. ^@@^}

  1. Whuuuu?

    What brought this up AGAIN?

    “Double teamed?” “Attack time?” *dumbfounded* *zipping my lip* *closing comments*

  2. This must have been my attack time, huh? While I wasn’t the first to mention racist Terri. I’m the one who was attacked! By you! Re-check your comments in response to mine and then read Stephe’s.

    Out of respect I have always held back on my comments and also because I’m in your house (blog). But to be double teamed. And I’m not irritated its just not worth it.

    • Lotus,

      No, you weren’t the first person. You were the second. Which is why Stephe and I were like whoa, wait. Stop. It was the wrong trajectory and we wanted to stop it before someone else chimed in, because you know what? Next thing you know we’d see somewhere out on the Internet complaining that Rain said on his radio show that some lady in L.A. was a racist.

      You know how the Rainiverse works, right? We weren’t attacking you. We were trying to stop the snowball from rolling down the hill and smacking Ji-Hoon square in the face.

      It’s all about him. As it SHOULD be here. It’s not MY house. It is Ji-Hoon’s house. It is only because of Rain’s and Rainy Entertainment’s kindness that we fansites like this exist at all.

  3. Well Bi when you try to order something in the future, if all else, fails……just point!

    This worked well for me getting some ice cream in Cancun many years ago. I have to laugh because it was a young teenage girl who waited on us….at least she appeared to be a teen. She already had that teenage impatient vibe like….”could you please pick what flavor you want already.” After my primitive sign language, she was finally able to give us the ice cream we wanted. When we gave her American dollars to pay for the ice cream she was none too thrilled. I could tell by the rolling of her eyes and the heavy sigh. She didn’t speak English (nor could we speak Spanish) and she wasn’t trying to thank you very much. LOL!

    I didn’t get upset at all. The moment felt quite normal and familiar. I told hubby….see teenagers are the same everywhere. I’m sure girlfriend wanted to be anywhere else except at work waiting on tourists who can’t even give her the proper currency. *SMILES* It was too funny!

    Bi……..middle aged fatty woman? *Kekekekekeke* Oh the tales rolling around in this man’s head. LOL! Give him a couple of beers, then let the party begin. *SMILES*………………………………….

  4. Okay, hold on… where does the “racist” part come in? (I’ve seen that a couple of times in the thread…?) He didn’t say she was racist. He said that he thought that she thought he was someone timid that she could intimidate. And we don’t know what color SHE was. We just know that she didn’t speak Korean, because then there wouldn’t have been a language issue. Truth is she could have been black, white, Asian, Asian-American, or God knows what color(s).

    Just sayin.

    Stephe ^@@^

    • Actually Stephe anyone can be a racist you know that even same race. And usually when you pick on someone that seems weaker your being a bully however being as though he’s a man and her a woman she was probably being racist. Trying to play like she didn’t know what he said.Now I know people hate that word and I wasn’t there so I’m only guessing but I’ve seen that scenario. And that is racist.

      And I have to say yes it can at times be hard to understand a person from another country, but she might have had a nasty deposition. And let’s face it racism is not going away as much as I’d love for it to.

      Like

      • Okay, whoa.

        Racism is not a word to throw around lightly anywhere. Racism has nothing to do with prejudice between genders. Racism is prejudice between races. Hence the root word RACE. Gosh.

        Stephe is correct. Nowhere in Rain’s comments did he indicate this person was being “racist.” Rude, yes. Racist? NO.

        And based on his comments about her, I’m thinking he was being a bit prejudicial himself–against fat people.

        So there.

        Terri :-}

        Like

        • Oh yes JiHoon does have prejudice towards overweight people that is very obvious. And true he never said a word about racism, I just know and seen the type. And you know like I said earlier racist doesn’t always apply to different races.

          And if it makes you feel better I will never use the word here even if it applies. Okay.

          Also it was just my opinion.

          Like

          • Lotus,

            You may use any word that applies, even the word “racist.” Well, any words that aren’t flat out cursing, of course.

            The problem is not the word. The problem is the word “racism” simply does not apply here based on Rain’s comments on the radio show.

            But I do think I understand what you mean about “racism” within individual races. However, technically, I believe that would be “prejudice.”

            Terri :-}

            Like

          • Lotus, nobody has a problem with the word racist. Where are you getting that?

            The word doesn’t bother me. Never has. Never will. I don’t care who uses it or how often. Doesn’t bother Terri either. It’s just a word.

            All I said was he didn’t say she was. And you said you’ve seen instances where things like that turned out to be racist. And Terri said that racism had to do with race and not gender. I thought we were all having a pretty good conversation and sharing our various opinions. And then you got irritated. Don’t use the word here ever again if YOU don’t want to, not because she told you not to, because that’s not what happened.

            Stephe ^@@^

            (P.S.: God yes, I’ve seen racism at work in the same race. All the time! Many of them. What a can of worms that is.)

            Like

            • This is the one thing I hate about typing comments or responses because you can’t hear it or see it. I never got irritated, really. I just thought you guys didn’t want it being said. Maybe because it is so controversial? And Terri please, please don’t take this the wrong way. But since our history (black) is so lied about and we are of different races, I find it hard for you to tell me about the difference between prejudice and racism. Please keep in mind not only am I biracial but my friends are from all different races. Like I said this is a touchy word and I never want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

              Like

              • That is so true about typing comments! OMG, it is. I try to keep that in mind constantly when I’m talking to people, but then sometimes things get out of whack anyway, you know, it is what it is. The good thing is that we can come back to each other, like now, and communicate a little more.

                🙂

              • Hi, Lotus.

                Yes, I am a white woman. But you know what? I’ve been through lots of painful things myself also–and some of them were because of racism.

                My ex-husband was Middle Eastern. Did you know that? My children are bi-racial. Do you know that I have experienced white and black people spitting on me and my family.

                One time I walked into a restaurant with my husband. I was about 6 months pregnant. And an old man at one of the tables, as we walked by said, “Well. THERE’S cause for abortion.”

                My husband was adopted by African-American parents. My mother-in-law never accepted me because I was white. Never. Not her entire life. She would even cut me out of family pictures.

                No, you don’t know. Because I don’t talk about it. Yes, racism is a touchy word. And I certainly know what it means. And you may certainly use it here. I really don’t mind.

                Terri :-}

                P.S. My father-in-law, however, was my one ray of light. He was an absolute sweetheart. But, sadly, he passed away two years after we were married.

Dare I say, racism has probably touched many of us at different times and in different ways to different degrees BUT because of one man we all come together at this one places and share.

                  I’m still shocked sometimes at how comfortable I became here….all in public and online. Now, this is just like extended family or so I’ve come to feel. We laugh, we cry, we get angry, we kiss, we makeup. It’s cool “ain’t” it?

                  Well, the Kennedy Centers Honors is on right now and they are honoring blues musician Buddy Guy. WOW, what an amazing, amazing story!

Perceptions, interpretations, perspective….these are all words that come to mind when I think about this post. It’s not just about the “fatty” woman (it shouldn’t make me laugh but it does….I can just hear him saying that in English) and how she perceived Bi, but it’s also about how He perceived her. They both could have misinterpreted each others’ intentions….equally and probably did.

                      What I’m learning more than anything else via this radio show is don’t piss Bi off. He leans toward holding grudges (mini ones)…….for a while. LOL! Whenever he decides to marry *Kekekekeke* he will have a long tough row to hoe with that attitude. Hahahahaha!! (*Oh it tickles me just thinking about it*).

                      Yep Bi, hubbies “nevah” win with that attitude, they get to think long and hard about it while laying peacefully…….overnight……..on the sofa. LOL!!!!

  5. Just my opinion but if JiHoon felt that way I’m sure she was being racist, let’s face it there are far to many times people say or do things out of line just to be mean. People like that make me sick.

  7. Grrr I wanna give that fat worker at the coffee barista a good talking to, it might not do any good, some people are just racist and that’s that.
    So that listener Son Su O is gonna be one lucky lady. I hope she shows up for that wonderful hug and shares pictures with us.
    ahhh Ji Hoony likes Mariah Carey’s Christmas music! I love her rendition of “Joy to the World.”
    Ok though, can someone help me understand cause maybe it’s the translation to eng. but when he says,”I was barely able to reach a ceremony awards venue on time by having motorcycle messenger’s
    service in the back of his motorcycle,” what the heck does that mean?

    • Patrice,

      I don’t know, but I’m thinking that “middle-aged big fatty woman” (sigh) may have simply had a little “Rain Brain Drain” going on there. It sounds like it never even occurred to him that the barista could have been overwhelmed herself at seeing something like Rain walk through her coffee shop door. Seriously, I might have been a little “hard of hearing” myself.

      “Hi. I’d like a Caramel Macchiato, please.”

      “Unhhh…a what?”

      “A Caramel Macchiato?”

      “Nnnhhhhhh…huh?” *staring absently at Rain’s lips*

      Co-worker elbows MABFW.

      “What!” MABFW says to the co-worker.

      Co-worker (whispering): “He says he wants a Caramel Macchiato.”

      “Huh? Oh! Yes! Coming right up, sir!”

      So, maybe she was being rude and maybe she wasn’t. LOL.

      As for the motorcycle messenger comment, he meant exactly what you thought he meant. One winter, he had a scheduling conflict, and so they actually had to hire a motorcycle messenger, put Rain on the back of that bike, and then the messenger had to fly like a bat outta hell down the highway to get to the awards ceremony on time. So, yeah. Yikes.

      • o OK Terri,, so he could have got that all wrong in the cafe maybe so that ended up him calling her a “MABFW”… I like thinking that she was mesmerized .. lolss.
        and so Bi got on the moterbike in the winter just to get to a award ceremony,? whose ever idea that was hmmm..wow, so risky. Glad that went well, tho.
        Thanx Terri 🙂

        • LOL. Yeah, that motorbike in winter thing didn’t make me happy either.

          Seriously, as I wasn’t there in the coffee shop, I can’t say what really went wrong when the poor fella tried to order his coffee. However, I know that my foreign language teachers always taught me that when someone tells you they don’t understand you when you are trying to speak to them in their own language, it’s probably not because they are trying to be rude. It’s probably because you actually suck at speaking their language. Try harder. Surely, Rain’s English teachers told him the same thing?

          Which really made me wonder why he perceived her to be “pretending not to understand” him. What in the world was she doing that made him think she was actually being rude? And so rude that to this day he still thinks of her as that “middle-aged big fatty woman?” I mean just…wow.

          That was what really made the writer in me think up that little scenario in my head. LOL.

      • Yep! Got to the awards ceremony in the nick of time on the back of a bike ducking and weaving through traffic, bless him. LOL 🙂

      • True, maybe she was being rude and maybe not. He did say that he “thought” she was, which means he wasn’t 100% sure. I mean, we’ve all been in that position. How often do we “perceive” something only to find out that our perception was wrong? You know?

        He can say caramel macchiato perfectly now, but who really knows how he said it back then, bless his little pea-pickin’ heart? kekeke 🙂

  8. Yolanda Adams? Wow Bi, “I’m” deeply impressed with you and Kim Tae Wan for picking her song to play. Bi as we say in Southeast Texas….she can “sang”…..not just sing…..but “sang” as in gives you goosebumps. *SMILES*

    Yolanda is an H-town girl also….Houston in “da” house at DEMA. The world is becoming smaller and smaller is not? The music selection tonight was awesome. Love it!

    Merry Christmas to you Bi and to all military personnel serving around the world!

    • Yes, Yolanda Adams! This is wonderful to find out that gospel music is being heard and appreciated 7,115 miles away in Seoul, Korea. I always noticed that at the end of Nan there are several gospel flavored riffs at the end of the song. I think I mentioned before that it has that “go to church” feel in the instrumental portion that fades out—especially in his live performances.

      I was also surprised that they recognized Xscape’s Christmas Without You!

      I am happy that Rain is interested in many different genres of music. I believe that is one of the reasons that his music is so different from the average K-pop artist.

      • Yes, this why I really Respect Bi as an artist because he is a TRUE student of different music genres. Gospel in particular (for the sake of our convo). I agree with you. I have noticed some “gospel tinged” chords within some of his songs. You don’t just throw gospel inspired music into your music unless you are really wanting to invoke that “feeling” (so to speak). I love it and I would love to know just what his thought process is when he does create his songs. It would make for a very interesting conversation.
