[info/news] Cloud USA Camp: What you need to know. (11/21/12)

ITEM 1) An Atlanta Super Cell Cloudburst get-together is coming up in late January 2013 (date to be determined). In addition to enjoying a good meal, good company, and ridiculous Rain fun, we will be watching Rain’s 24hours “The Day”, an absolutely adorable Rain documentary released by Warner Bros. and J.Tune in 2008.

There aren’t English subtitles, but after spending time with JiHoon at home, in the studio shooting for his 2008 website, meeting the press during his Speed Racer era (where he greets a business acquaintance in English), at his 2008 concert in Busan, and on the street in Berlin, Germany, we hardly think you’ll care. Ha ha. ^@@^

ITEM 2) ATTENTION, attention attention, Yellow Ribbon for Rain Brigade! Hold on to your yellow ribbons that you got in your Rain The BEST Show Limited DVD packages, everyone. If you didn’t buy a DVD package, don’t worry about that because all you have to do is make a trip to your favorite fabric/craft store and get yourself a yellow ribbon. Or two. Or three. Why am I telling you this?

Rain’s birthday is June 25, and his discharge from the Army is July 10. Soooo… everyone hold onto your ribbons for an upcoming Cloud USA project for Rain in the Spring, in April 2013. It’s going to be fun. ^@@^ (Side note: It wouldn’t hurt to invest in a little camo, too. A hat, or a handkerchief. or you know, just something. *grin*)

“…and though my kingdom awaits, and they’ve forgiven my mistakes, I’m coming home, I’m coming home, tell the world that I’m coming… home.”

  1. As a newbie I don’t really know what this is all about but am very interested in being more active and learning. So, how can I participate in this? I live in the Augusta area so a trip is easy. Can you help me out? Please, especially since I am one of the older women that enjoys Rain. I feel so all alone because of my physical age— but not my mental age. Is 58 to old to be a part of your crowd?

    • Hi, Kathy. Age is nothing but a number when it comes to Rain and his fans, so think nothing of it! I’m 52 and I’ve been a fan for about 7 years. Terri is 54 and has been a fan for 4. We know many fans in their 50s, 60s, AND 70s online, as well as many in their teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s. Rain adores all of his fans regardless of age (he has openly said so and demonstrated that), and it’s really cool how his influence has brought people together who might otherwise never have met, online and off. Rain keeps us all mentally young. 🙂 He’s an amazing human being and you can’t help loving the guy.

You fit right in here. Please don’t feel alone, because you aren’t. (Augusta… you’re right up the road a piece. Cool.)

We started the get-togethers that we nicknamed “cloudbursts” just so that fans could casually meet at some point in their locations and have fun sharing about Rain. All you have to do to participate is when a date is set, say hey, I’m coming, and come. Some people bring their favorite Rain stuff, some just bring themselves. Terri and I love a good meal, so we usually have Atlanta get-togethers at a restaurant, but there are no hard and fast rules about that. Wherever’s comfortable. The important thing is to meet new friends, share good conversation, and dish about JiHoon (talk happens easily when Rain fans are in a room LOL).

Sometime in early January, we’ll be asking what times and days might be good for y’all, before we nail down a date.

Well, I’ve talked your ear off. LOL Please don’t hesitate to ask a question here. Everybody’s pretty friendly, we try to keep a comfortable, respectful atmosphere for all, and even though it says Cloud USA on the door, everyone is welcome because no Rain fan should ever be out there all alone.

    • Hi, Cece. As we understand it, RAINY is taking emails (at rainyent.cloud@gmail.com) and may work one-on-one with fans who missed ordering the DVD set. The only reason we haven’t made a general announcement about it is because, unlike before, they aren’t accepting payment in $US dollars by PayPal right now, only in Korean won by bank transfer, which can rack up huge handling charges for the person who’s doing the buying. We just didn’t think overseas fans would go for that much.

The DVD package is now legally on YesAsia (plays in all DVD players), which we think is a much better alternative. VERY glad to see this! It costs a little more than from RAINY, but is still a great discounted price and you don’t have to worry about the quality of it (you know the old saying, you get what you pay for) or that Rain is getting credited. And with YesAsia, the process is usually pretty simple.

      Here’s the link… http://www.yesasia.com/us/rain-the-best-show-premium-limited-dvd-package/1032020684-0-0-0-en/info.html

      I hope this helps.
