{By the way, dear fans, there was no way I could let the listener name “Rape Flowers K” go by without trying to figure out what the deal was. I was waaaay too alarmed by it. And I’m glad I did because, as it turns out, rape flowers are beautiful vivid yellow blossoms that grow in incredible abundance in Korea, China, and Japan. As I understand it, “rape” is Latin for “turnip”, and another name for this flower is canola blossom. The name has nothing to do with the violent act of a woman being forced into sex. I don’t do that. I tend to tell the person directly if I do anything wrong. KCM also doesn’t get huffy, but he tends to be angry in front of everyone. (laughs) When I stepped on his foot out of unawareness in a marathon last time, KCM blew his cool at me, having his claws out. Then, I tried to throw off my jacket and scuffles almost broke out between him and me, but I managed to restrain my anger because I am his senior. (laughs)

[KCM] : I have never done such a thing. (laughs)

[Rain] : However, he is always willing to help a person out and is considerate of others, and this is characteristic of him. Actually, his personality was hard to understand first, but now I can understand him. Mentally he’s still in his teens (laughs), but his mind is pure as the driven snow. (laughs)

[KCM] : Listener ‘#5535′, “I often sleep with my arms lifted above my head, so my armpits have been itchy from mosquito bites.” (laughs)

[Rain] : I slept with my arm lifted above my head to snatch a couple of hours’ sleep in the waiting room the day before my concert at Japan’s Tokyo Dome. When I woke up, my armpit had puffed up because of insect bites.

[KCM] : Didn’t you have an itch on your armpit from a flea bite? (laughs) {Score 1 for KCM! LOL – S. ^@@^}

[Rain] : Please stop talking that nonsense! You’re quite cheeky for a soldier who is very ugly. (laughs) The next day I kept scratching at the insect bite on my armpit even while performing. During the intermission, I applied an ointment to the insect bites that contained a mild analgesic to soothe stings and bites. It’s hard to believe I got bit by an insect even though I wash myself clean normally.

[Rain] : Listener ‘#0232’, “I fell into a deep sleep, lying on the bed with a mask pack on my face. But I felt as if my skin was ripping apart when I woke up the next day.”

[KCM] : According to corporal Yim Ju Wan, a mask pack should be removed within a strict time limit to protect your skin.

[Rain] : He has plenty of common sense.

[Rain] : Listener ‘#5114’, “I’ve heard from an old friend living in the USA. She has been my close friend these past thirty years.”

[Rain] : I also have an old friend who has been my close friend these past twenty years.

[Jung Jun Yil] : Nice to meet you.

[KCM] : How was your holiday?

[Jung Jun Yil] : I had a good rest, eating much.

[KCM] : I think Jung Jun Yil has put on weight since he was transferred here. (laughs) When he was transferred to this unit first, he was dark skinned and a lanky man. (laughs)

[Rain] : I think he springs to mind more compared to the past, and he is capable of a lot more. (laughs) Are you still searching your own name on the Internet these days, Jung Jun Yil? (laughs)

[Jung Jun Yil] : I’m doing it now and then. (laughs)

[Rain] : Well, who is the star of the day?

[Jung Jun Yil] : It’s H.O.T. who was the idol of teenage youngsters. {*screeeeeeam* I love you, Kangta! *scream* – S. ^@@^}

[Rain] : H.O.T. and ‘Sechs Kies’ were long-time rivals of one another.

[Jung Jun Yil] : H.O.T. is the acronym for ‘High-five Of Teenagers’. But, H.O.T. was even called ‘hot odeng & tteokbokki’. (laughs)

[Rain] : Thinking about tteokbokki makes my mouth water. (laughs)

[KCM] : I’m wondering if our PD would like to foot the bill today. (laughs)

[Rain] : What a tactless remark! Please don’t behave tactlessly! (laughs) I’ve heard KCM has derived some profit from his personal business. (laughs)

[KCM] : Everyone knows that Rain is making a lot more money than me. (laughs)

[Rain] : All I have is passion. (laughs) Jung Jun Yil, go on please. (laughs) {LOL! – S. ^@@^}

[Jung Jun Yil] : H.O.T. debuted in the musical world in 1996, and they gathered a crowd wherever they went.

[Rain] : After H.O.T. was dissolved, they were completely forgotten, which makes me sad. It seemed like their popularity would never end. Popularity may be likened to a bubble. I wish to be remembered forever, but that would be a virtual impossibility.

[Jung Jun Yil] : H.O.T. was comprised of 5 members, ‘Kangta’ (main vocal), ‘Moon Hee Jun’ (vocal, leader), ‘Jang Woo Hyuk’ (rap), Tonny Ahn (vocal, rap), and ‘Lee Jae Won’ (rap).

[KCM] : They were hugely popular singers at that time.

[Rain] : I think they laid the foundation of current K-pop music.

[Jung Jun Yil] : They left many hit songs. I never get tired of listening to their songs.

[KCM] : Come Back Home!

[Rain] : Come Back Home is not their song. (laughs) {LOL! – S. ^@@^}

[KCM] : Oh! I’m sorry, you’re right, my mistake. (laughs)

[Rain] : You did that deliberately, didn’t you? (laughs)

[KCM] : Never! (laughs)

[Rain] : In my rookie days, there was a conflict of opinions between fans of Eun Ji Won from pop group ‘Sechs Kies’ and my fans over a matter of cheering materials. In the end, my 20 fans triumphed over hundreds of his fans, and it was decided that my fans would use silver materials for me. (laughs) I am filled with emotions as I think about the past. {Wow, Clouds got it in even in the early days! Well, thanks for clearing that up, JiHoon. Y’all heard it. [Jung Jun Yil] : H.O.T had even generated a lot of buzz. They sold millions of albums in the full career.

[Rain] : But a day like today, it’s just impossible.

[Jung Jun Yil] : Unfortunately, some of their songs were prohibited on the airwaves.

[Rain] : When I debuted as a member of a boy band called ‘Fan Club’ in 1998 while H.O.T was active mostly, the Korean music industry used to be strictly regulated.

[Jung Jun Yil] : Also, H.O.T. was a trend-setter. And they had turned songwriters with several original compositions in their albums, and they gave a mega concert in Korea in 1999. The group suddenly broke up on 14 May 2001 after years of differences and unhappiness. When they broke up, I cried. (laughs)

[Rain] : When pop group G.O.D. broke up, I was so sad. G.O.D. had a huge fan base. I was {speechless just belonging} to the same agency as G.O.D.

[Jung Jun Yil] : G.O.D. was a national favorite.

Anyway, a lot of teenagers were influenced by H.O.T. in many ways, both negatively and positively, and they were great singers who changed the course of Korean pop music.

[Rain] : I like Jung Jun Yil because he has the same family name ‘Jung’ as me. (laughs) All but the one, ‘Kang’, are my favorite family names. KCM (Kang Chang Mo) is seen as angry. (laughs) Please don’t be offended, I {was only playing}. (laughs)

[Jung Jun Yil] : Now each of H.O.T is busy doing TV shows and acting in dramas. In particular, it is said Jang Woo Hyuk is very popular in China. Whenever he arrives in the country, the airport is paralyzed by his fans.

[Rain] : Actually, Moon Hee Jun was a good dancer before his debut. I did not know him personally, but I was familiar with his reputation at that time.
