  2. Oh people, people…..what is going on in the world?? Really?? Does it really have to be taken to This level?? (*whatever your stance*) I shudder to think what people will actually be like when I reach my “golden years”….truly a sobering thought. This CHILD is 16.

    • Good grief.

      What a stupid little girl.

I’m not surprised in the least, though. There’s a lot of hate out there in the world. But it is terribly disheartening, yes?

This is one reason that as much as I desperately want Ji-Hoon to come and work in the U.S.A. in the entertainment field, I dread it too. Because I absolutely know that, at some point, he is going to experience something extremely painful and ugly. In fact, he likely has experienced some nastiness already. I say that based on some of the quotes I read in The Clouds book that they just published.

      Sigh.

      • Is that the book under that new link they pointed out. I can’t see it for some reason.

As far as Bi experiencing some ugliness, I’m sure he will at some point. It’s just the nature of the “beast” called freedom of speech….freedom to speak one’s mind, even if it is stupid. I think Bi is pretty thick skinned though because his own people can be pretty hard core when they want to be. However, I do know American nastiness is on a whole other level and we Clouds dread it only because as strong as we know Bi is, that ugliness can be brutal. We don’t want that negativity to “change” him. As private as he is, he’s so open with his feelings for his fans and his feelings in general and that does come from his culture I think. We don’t want what makes him so special to change under the “weight.” Even so, at the same time, we know his talent So deserves to be shown. Americans should know about this man. Anyway, I could go on and on……………….

Yes, that’s the book. I had no trouble clicking the link myself. Let me go in there and click on the link and I’ll post it here and see if that helps…hold on…

          Here: http://rain-cloud.co.kr/quotation/rain.html

That is the direct link. Does that help? It is an interactive webpage, so it may take some time to load. It’s 293 pages long…huge.

It is a very sweet project. I can see why it took two years to produce.

        • Reading some of these quotes, I’m like yeah I get why some people reach his level of success. There’s a fire in the belly that continuously burns. A determination that just blows me away. I’m tired already, so that’s probably why I’m sitting behind this desk. (*Kekekekekekeke!*) Seriously though, he’s an amazing. On a lighter note……his future kids will catch holy hell….Kekekekeke and I mean that in the nicest way. Truly. You think MBLAQ has it bad with “Sensei?” There’s nothing like trying to live under daddy’s successful shadow and his expectation (I know this feeling to a small degree). That’s why I’m chuckling. *Kekekekeke*……………….

          • BiA,

No kidding. I’ve learned a lot about drive and determination from Rain. That’s for sure. Although, actually, I’m a pretty driven woman myself. So, never mind about the drive. LOL.

Determination, on the other hand, is a bit harder, especially when life keeps throwing curve balls at you. But I’ll keep working on that one. Someday, I’ll have that one mastered too. 😛

  4. I know I’m a little behind the times when it comes to Korean singers, but the last couple K-dramas I’ve been watching have made me key in on songs from the OST. Now that I’m watching Faith The Great Doctor, I keyed in on one song and went “in search of.” The young man that sings….just gave me goose bumps. This brotha is BAD! I understand not one word, but I can appreciate a god given gift….Mercy! If you’ve heard of him already pardon my enthusiasm, if not all I can say is WOW!!!!! Oh, I almost forgot his name is Shin Yong Jae.

    First the soundtrack song…………………………………….

Second a song from a singing contest (I believe he was in)………………

          • Yeah, I’m watching the dramas on viki.com as well. I like that site better than dramafever and they have a “team” of people translating for each drama. They are really fast and some of them are just “folks” volunteering to do the translating and they do and Excellent job! (SMILES)

  5. Big news here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area…….

DFW Airport and South Korea’s Incheon Airport ink parternship to learn from each other

Officials of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, today signed an airport partnership agreement that will include the mutual pursuit of new air service and the sharing of best practices and information.

“Incheon is unquestionably a global leader, setting a new standard for airports around the world,” said Jeff Fegan, chief executive of the D/FW Airport.

“Incheon offers travelers some very unique experiences,” he said. “It’s a mode from which DFW hopes to benchmark against and learn from.”

C W Lee, CEO of Incheon International Airport Corp., agreed, saying the partnership will help “both airports to grow more and more.”

The 11-year-old Incheon Airport saw 35 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo last year. The 38-year-old DFW Airport managed 57.8 million passengers and 652,655 tons of cargo in 2011.

The DFW Airport is the world’s eighth busiest airport and the 4th busiest airport in North America, according to Airports Council International. It has ranked among the top five in service quality for five straight years.

ACI has ranked Incheon as the world’s best airport for seven straight years. It’s also the world’s 33rd busiest airport.

In June, Fegan and other airport officials accompanied Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings on an economic development trip to Asia, including South Korea. Rawlings said then that he sees nonstop flights to Asian countries through the DFW Airport as key to bringing increased trade, visitors and economic impact to North Texas.

  8. Love this picts! Rain looks soo darn sexy! Yummie! Thanks for posting! 😀 This video of Bad Guy, made such an impression on me! I was exploring Rain’s music almost three years ago and found this video, really awesome I must say, but after I finished it, the story stayed with me for a while. Why? It made me think about how someone’s actions today can make an impact on the future of an individual. This video like many of Rain’s music and dramas make you think about life. Just for that, I’ll be forever grateful to Rain cuz he changed my way of thinking and living life.

    • Thanks for reminding me that this was there, Stephe. It had been a long time since I’d watched the actual MV and your posting this “making of” video made me do just that.

I will never forget when I watched Rain’s “Bad Guy” MV for the very first time. It was actually raining outside and I was in a bit of a mood and still working my way through videos that Stephe had sent me of this young Korean guy who she seemed to think was super talented. LOL.

By the time I had gotten to Bad Guy, I already knew this kid was something special. But the production quality of the piece and Rain’s singing, dancing and acting just amazed me all over again. He was so young back then, and yet he already had such a powerful presence onscreen.

The viewer totally believes that the kid in this MV is a boy who got started down the wrong path and who simply can’t see any way out of it but suicide by cop. It was an amazing work by JYP and Rain.

Rain possessed such amazing charisma and obviously had so much talent, even at so young an age, that it is still unbelievable to me how so many producers passed him over because they did not see his potential. It’s absolutely incredible to think there are that many stupid producers out there. LOL.

Another powerful MV is the movie version of Rain’s Love Story. If you ladies haven’t seen that one, then you should. But prepare yourself. It’s heartwrenching.

    • Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen this video—-always seen the “live” performances. Interesting concept—kinda like the scene in “Set It Off” with Queen Latifah when she decides to go out in a blaze of glory rather than be captured and serve multiple years in prison. JYP provided a great platform for Rain to build his career on. I think he recognized the enormous potential and talent Rain possessed early on and encouraged him to hone his craft—enabling him to fulfill his youthful dreams of success.
