I love Curse of the Golden Flower!! It was awesome!! The costumes, the palace, the music and the whole situation with the king, queen and their children. Wow!! It takes the “dysfuncional family” concept to a whole new level!! Lol!! Another good movie is “The Servant” If you have time, see it. 😀

Another good one is “A moment to remember” but be prepared to cry your eyes out! Arghhh I did!! I watched it cuz Jae Joong from JYJ said that he liked it and inspired him to write the song “No gain” that he gave to Junsu for his new album Tarantallegra. Believe me, that movie is a heartbreaker!

I want to see this movie so bad and it’s not out yet. It was recently shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie is “Wolf Boy” or “A Werewolf Boy” starring Song Joong Ki another one of my new favorites.

Wow is Faith intense or what? OMG I’m so impressed with the way the writer and director are developing this drama! It’s a pleasure to see how they put together the magic, history, political and romantic aspects of it. I’m liking Lady Choi, she’s tough and I laugh so hard with the way she handles Choi Young! Lol!! The bad guy is all I expected him to be but to say the truth, I’m more impressed with flute guy, I love those “grey characters”, they’re not totally bad or good and that’s what keeps me interested. I’m very excited with Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun’s chemistry, I mean, fire is flying high already with only stares and conversations, I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen when kisses and body contact start. Wooohooo!! I’m expecting an explosive, full of passion love story! Let’s hope they don’t left me hanging dry! Ten episodes has gone by and this has being a wild ride so let’s see what they do next. 😀

I’m behind you in episodes, but I’m really enjoying “Faith” too, Mari.
At first I wasn’t sure about the cartoon or the supernatural elements, but I finally decided to suspend my disbelief and just go with it, and I am finding what they are doing with both intriguing.
I think my favorite characters are actually the king and queen though. If you know anything about the two historical figures these characters are based on (King Gongmin and Queen Noguk), you will find their interaction onscreen MUCH more interesting: http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Gongmin_of_Goryeo.

Thanks Terri! I’m gonna check that info now!! But I know a little about these two cuz I saw “A frozen flower” and this movie is about this king and his queen. Also, I check them out on Wikipedia, I know this is general info, but they explain about their troubled relationship. Also, I look up “Choi Young” and his story is pretty amazing too. I love these characters and can’t wait to see how the writer develop them. This is a new approach to historical dramas and I love it. 😀

Mari,
I saw A Frozen Flower too. That is a very powerful film, albeit a little racy. Okay, that’s a bit of an understatement. It’s a LOT racy. LOL. Just fair warning to future viewers. I thought A Frozen Flower was extremely well done though, and I enjoyed the movie very much, although it was quite tragic. (Another warning for future viewers. LOL.)
I still haven’t had time to catch up my Faith episodes, though. Hopefully, I’ll have the time to watch another one today.

Yess I didn’t expected it was gonna be that graphic, specially the part were the king and the main actor…well, I think you know what I mean. It was strong to see something like that! But I loved the part were the men do the sword dance, that was awesome! Also, my favorite action scene is when the king and queen are in the countryside. So well done and all the oufits, soo beautiful!! It is a tragedy but I love that movie! 😀

**SPOILER ALERT** **SPOILER ALERT** **SPOILER ALERT**
“A Frozen Flower” I have seen as well and to say it’s racy/graphic is and understatement. However, it’s very beautifully done and the way they emphasize relationships in this movie is hella intense. The king was intense in his love for his right hand man/best friend and it was expressed in So many ways, some not so healthy. The king was brutal and suffocating in his love for his friend. It was cruel to ask him to sleep with his queen, but once his friend got little “taste” oh boy….it was off to the races for him and queen (so to speak). They fell in love, but couldn’t be together and the king’s jealousy wouldn’t let them be together even in the smallest moments. I may have to re-watch it. I really love Asian foreign films. I have long before I even knew about Bi.
It’s funny, some of us Clouds have the same taste in films and movies. Too bad we don’t live closer to one another, I have a movie partner when hubby doesn’t want to go. (SMILES)

I was floored by the deep introspection and dynamic between the three characters. There was almost no suspension of my belief because everything that occurred was so very real. The setting was like a gorgeous tapestry that I watched the story unfold on. And the intimacy was such a natural part of the story and so well done that I hardly blinked.
I loved A Frozen Flower. It (and Curse of the Golden Flower) remain two of my favorite films.

Mari,
I just finished the first two episodes of Nice Guy. I think it is going to be a good one.
I had been waiting for this one, mainly because it was written by Lee Kyung-hee, who wrote “Sangdoo, Let’s Go to School,” “A Love to Kill,” and “Will it Snow for Christmas”–three of my all-time-favorite Korean melodramas. I absolutely love her work. Although, her penchant for tragic endings can be depressing as hell. LOL. Still, her writing is so superb, that I love to see how her stories will unfold. There are very few writers (from anywhere) that I can actually follow and say that about. Seriously. From anywhere in the world.
I’m also interested in seeing what Song Joong Ki can do with his Nice Guy character. He has never played such a heavy role, I don’t think. So, I’m intrigued to see how he does.
I saw he is also in the “Werewolf Boy” movie. That looks interesting too. Lots of good entertainment coming out. When will I ever find the time to watch all of this? LOL.

I know! Who has time to watch all this TV??? I know I sure don’t. I usually manage to squeeze 30 minutes in before I fall asleep. If I’m not reading, that is. I have a huge manuscript to critique this month and so I’ve spent most of my spare time doing that. The dramas will have to wait for a bit. Sigh.
And you’re welcome on the writer. Since I’m a writer, I tend to look at writers’ names on the dramas I like the best and go hunt their other works down. LOL.

He looks so handsome! I love the longer hair on him, you know my love for hair so I’m enjoying it and the armor is driving me nuts! Love it! In fact, I love most of the outfits, specially the King and queen’s outfits. Georgeous! The fighting scenes are cool too, both scenes of Lee Min Ho with flute guy has being amazing! I love the way the director is developing the story. I can’t wait to see that first kiss even if it’s just a brief touch of lips cuz Lee Min Ho knows how to make it look good! 😀

Btw, the kid that was doing the young king character is the same kid of Playful Kiss, Kim Hyung Joong’s little brother. He’s such a good actor so I knew he was going to do an amazing job. I cried like a baby too! Lee Min Ho and that boy did a marvelous job! Regarding the doctor, she’s lovely and a great actress. She’s too funny and the chemistry with LMH is really good so far.

*** SPOILER ALERT *** SPOILER ALERT *** SPOILER ALERT ***
I remembered the young kid from Playful Kiss. These actors really do go from one drama to the next. He’s a good child actor and no doubt will mature into a great adult actor. He has a lot of emotional depth already.
Now Mari, you and I both KNOW that with Lee Min Ho that “lip action” is MAJOR on screen. I hope when it comes…..and it IS coming, that kiss is like a City Hunter or Personal Taste kiss and not a BOF kiss. His screen kisses are passionate without being vulgar. Crush #2 is working his “warrior mojo!” You saw how the High Doctor looked at him when he came in with his men….all official and ready to give of himself in service to the king. I’m still not sure what his dreams mean yet, but I’m equating them with his heart being “cold” and the High Doctor is beginning to melt that “ice” surrounding his heart. Hence the color starting to show. What do you think?

I have watched all 8 episodes of Faith on DramaFever.com (in two days….LOL) and I love it! Lee Min Ho is a perfect fit for his role and he makes “Choi Young” come alive in the story. BiAlamode, I think you are correct in your observation that his icy exterior is melting because of the lively warmth of Dr. Yoo Eun-Soo from “Heaven”! This is my first historical drama—-the costumes and sets are beautiful and add to the allure of the supernatural theme of the story. I also noticed this is a Secret Garden reunion: the director of the Action School, the “woman” at the Mysterious Garden restaurant and Kim Joo Won’s great uncle who worked with him at Loel’s department store. I think I saw the 2nd director of the Action School too!

For your next historical drama I recommend Sungkyunkwan Scandal. It’s a sweet love story set during the Joseon era in Korean history. It touches on loyalty, pride, duty and honor in one’s country and one’s self. The leads are Micky Yoochun of JYJ and Park Min Young of City Hunter. They are SO beautiful together and also their co-stars Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki are equally beautiful. The four form a great friendship and you’ll fall in love with each individual character. The are each very different and the drama does a good job in “showcasing” each character individually. It’s a lovely drama and I think you’ll enjoy it. (SMILES)

Yes I thougth that too! 😀 He’s getting out of his depression and that’s why he’s seeing that world in color! You have to take into consideration that his teacher and this lady he loved died one after the other, well, at least that’s the way it was shown in the drama so it was very tough for him. I still don’t understand why his lady kill herself, it was cuz the king made her show her body? I’m not sure maybe there’s another reason but we still don’t know it. Anyways Choi Young is “waking up” emotionally now. He kind of told something along that line to the bad guy when he came to the jail looking for him. He said something like, “You kept bothering me, I’m awake now so deal with the consecuences.” Oh man, the scene were Choi Young was in the cage and the doctor looked at him, I melted!! LMH looked sooo georgous!! To top it all, the wind was blowing his hair, aghhhh I died! The end of the episode was amazing!! I was cheering like crazy for all those georgeous men, specially for LMH!! Thanks Stephe for this pict. and this topic!! This is one of my favorite scenes from Fugitive! This drama is a must see cuz Rain did such a wonderful job as Ji Woo. When it comes to kdramas you should see all Rain’s dramas cuz they’re are the best! Rain’s acting skills are too good for anybody to miss them! But coming back to the topic, this month I’m in trouble cuz there’re so many great kdramas starting and I wanna see them all! Lol!! The one drama I’m in love so far is Faith with Lee Min Ho. OMG I’ve seeing those first two episodes so many times! Lee Min Ho is georgeous as a warrior of old times! I’m already in love with his character! This drama is a must see! It has drama, magic, action, sarcasm and love. Can’t wait to see how that script is developed, is gonna be a wild ride! Second, To the beutiful you, this is a high school drama with MinHo from Shinee. He’s doing a great job as an athlete who lost his mom, got injured and is recovering from all this trauma. Third, Arang & the magistrate, in this drama with Shin Min Ah from A love to kill, she plays a ghost who don’t remember how she died so she torment every magistrate to know the truth till she finds a georgeous magistrate who can see her. I love her but this drama is sooo slow!! I took several naps while watching it but I wanna stick to it cuz I know is gonna be good eventually. Since these dramas just started you have to wait cuz they’re shown two times a week so is torture! In the meantime I’m watching My girlfriend is a nine tailed fox, this drama is with Shin Min Ah and I love it! Is soo funny but I’m in episode 4 so is getting really good! 😀
