[trailer] The full R2B: Return to Base / 리턴투베이스 movie trailer.

*Edited to Add: From this point on, dearest JiHoon (and dearest “TaeHoon”, haha), I dub thee warrior Hotdog Hoonie. So it is written, so it is done. 😉 ^@@^ }

Wow. Here we have our rebel Black Eagle “TaeHoon” not only pulling the CRAZY air show stunt that gets his butt in a sling with the Brass, but doing a fly-by on the tower without permission.

That boy loves trouble! LOL! And I love this trailer! ^@@^

(Caps by Stephe @CloudUSA. Sorry for not including the wink shot, but for a wink to be cute, it really needs to be a moving GIF. He should actually do the wink. In a still photo with one eye just sitting there closed, it always looks like Rain either has something in his eye, a bad facial tic, or a medical issue, IMHO. Someone make a GIF and share it, pretty please? Thanks much! Thumbs up! 🙂 )

    • I haven’t received a reply from the movie theaters that I contacted…..hopefully the reason is they are researching the film and deciding to bring it to their venue! Go CloudUSA’ers! When we ask for something, we just might GET it!

  2. Well surprise, surprise. The movie theater called me back and told me what to do to request the film. They are under the Landmark Theater umbrella and I had to send an email request. So that I did. Now, will the film be shown in Houston….who knows, but the request is in.

Talitha, as you are also in Houston you may want to put in an email request also. I did it as follows:

Go to http://www.landmarktheaters.com, click on Houston, then click River Oaks Theater, then Contact Us, then scroll down to Customer Service where you can leave feedback/comments. It’s here where you will see a drop down list, scroll down to Movie Request. Once you click that, fill out the info for the movie in the comments section and send the email request.

    • alright, alright, alright! I have learned today…..BiAlamode is a super sleuth and I am going to follow her lead! There are two theaters in Dallas (The Magnolia and The Inwood Lounge) that are a part of the Landmark Theaters group. I will be leaving them a request for R2B tonight! You can’t get what you want unless you ask for it! (queue Mission Impossible theme music)

    • Just did that for our Landmark theatre too here in Atlanta.

  3. As promised I contacted the River Oaks theater but had to leave a message…..it’s the weekend so……

I’ll contact them again on tomorrow, if I don’t receive a return call. Also, it seems the Greeway Plaza theater has closed down. @BiThat Way, it seems Houston had an Angelika Theater downtown as well, but it too shut down in 2010 and rather abruptly at the time, from what I can gather. So, this leaves the 4th largest city in the nation with only 1 theater that shows exclusively indie/foreign films. If I find out about other theaters in the city that play foreign films, I’ll certainly call.

  7. WOW!!!!! OMG this movie is gonna be AWESOME!!! It looks like “Top Gun” on the surface but it feels different, more like “Transformers” so I think people is gonna be interested just seeing that trailer. I wish they could do a “romantic trailer” so we can see a bit of the juicee, gooey, sweetie parts of the movie we really want to see!! Lol!! But alas, I think we’re gonna have to wait for the movie to get in theaters to see it. Damnn!!!! ^.^

    • Mari,

Let’s just pray there are some juicee, gooey sweetie parts. LOL. It’s an action-type film, looks like. So, I doubt there will be many–if any. Sigh.

Oh, and this is South Korea we’re talking about here too. So.

    • Christina,

I’d say you’d better find a foreign film venue there and request it. Who knows. Most of us will likely have to see it on DVD.

There is a Los Angeles premiere planned, though. Lucky Californians. They get everything. Even Rain. To think I actually used to live out there once. Maybe I’ll move back…

  14. This one is SO going to be marketed to an American audience as well. It’s very Top Gun…..(*at a Blockbuster near you*). Heck, it may even premiere here in limited release. It Totally felt like an American trailer, except it’s Korean. (SMILES)

I can not wait (*on pins and needles*). This is one Hubby will actually watch and he won’t even care that Bi is in it! (SMILES)

    • hmm, limited release in the US…………I just emailed Angelika Dallas (a cinema center that specializes in independent and specialty films) to ask if they would possibly be showing R2B at their venue. I’ve been there a couple of times to see documentaries, so I think it would be perfect for this movie. Too bad we won’t be able to pick this one up on BL (bootleg copy) outside our local barbershop/hair salon/mom and pop restaurant, LOL—-I don’t normally purchase BL’s, but I think I would have to make an exeception for Rain. I commit to purchasing the film when it comes out on DVD, hopefully packaged by YA Entertainment with great English subtitles.

      • As George Washington would say “I can not tell a lie……” (*bows head in shame*) I have purchased a BL dvd (well hubby did for me). Can you guess which one? Yes, that’s right NA I got FIRST on BL. Then I went back and PURCHASED the Blu-ray dvd. So I made up for it Bi! (SMILES)

Hubby got sick of me watching the thing over and over when we rented it the first time, so he got the BL from a co-worker…..(*Ssh, you didn’t hear that from me*). After watching That one over and over, I decided I needed to see some Bi in HD. (SMILES)

Hmm, now that you mention it. Greenway Plaza theater in Houston (my hometown), was one that used to show independent and foreign films. Following your lead, think I’ll give them a call and see if they still do. We have a boat load of theaters here, but I couldn’t tell you how many actually show foreign films. Oh, also the River Oaks Theatre shows documentaries and independent films too. I forgot about them. As huge as Houston is, you would think I could list a lot of theaters that show foreign films, but alas I can’t. If anybody else knows, please let me know. (SMILES)

        • BiA,

For shame! 😛 Well, at least you bought yourself a legit copy later. I ordered a MV DVD once, which came from Thailand. It was totally pirated. Sort of a clue when I saw that it had MV’s from other groups on it, like Super Junior and DBSK? LOL. So weird. And it STILL smells like a fish market. I kid you not. Ask Stephe. LOL.

Yeah, as big as Atlanta is we only have two or three foreign film venues. It’s terrible! I have certainly requested Return to Base. We’ll see if anyone actually gets it. Surely one of them will (hope, hope).

Just saw the trailer. It looks wonderful.

Just sent in a request to my favorite foreign film venue in Atlanta. (I already requested it once, but the name changed. So, I wanna make sure they stay up to date…)

They were very nice when I called and gave me an e-mail address to write to. So, I wrote and told them ALL about it. Went on and on and on. Can anyone say too much information???

                LOL.

Please let me know what you find out about whether or not Greenway Plaza or River Oaks will be showing this. I tried to google to see if there are any other independant theatres here in Houston but came up empty. If they do in fact show it, I’ll be happy to see it with you. 🙂

          • Talitha/BiA,
I did a bit of investigating and found the AMC Studio 30 movie theater in H-town at 2949 Dunvale is currently showing a couple of foreign films in their original language with subtitles….maybe that would be another venue that is open to showing R2B…….Houston has a booming Asian population, especially on the SW side (street signs in English and Chinese)—so I know there would be a large audience for the movie. I miss living in the H……..

            • @Talitha/BiThatWay,

I’ve been feeling out of sorts today, but I will be on it as soon as I feel a little better. BiThatWay, I know exactly the theater you are referring to. Used to pass by there when I was on that side of town, headed to a popular shoe store over there at the time. (SMILES) Yes, certain areas of town have a fairly large Asian population. I’m on the opposite side of town though. There is a large enough audience for the movie here, but the theaters have to know about it first, I’m guessing.
