Status is now “delivered”, dear peeps. Our recipient has taken possession of Rain’s birthday scrapbook, and we will be forever grateful. It is a pretty safe bet that Rain has your precious work on his behalf by now, so please rest easy.

[ETA ANOTHER 6/25 Update: How about that Twitter trending event, eh? Did everyone participate? It was a lot of fun. :-} So. Rain’s birthday scrapbook package is on the move AGAIN. According to the FedEx International Services rep I just spoke to on the phone, the package has cleared customs and is on a truck and on its way to Seoul and its recipient. The only status left is the one that says “delivered.” Yippee!
And for those of you who are wondering if I even have a life outside of Cloud USA, let me say that I just spent some time with my oldest DS (dear son), listening to his latest song. All I can say is it’s REALLY good. His EP is supposed to be finished by the end of August (barring any delays). I will share it with you when it is finally released. And for those of you who are new and are wondering why I’m mentioning my son and his music here on Cloud USA, you should read my Standing in the Rain story. Later, peeps. :-}]
[ETA 6/25: Clouds, I was about to call it a night and something made me go check the FedEx tracking page again and—guess what? The scrapbook has made it to South Korea—and on Rain’s birthday, even. Wow. Okay, he doesn’t have it yet, but still. He and his scrapbook are on the same soil and on his birthday. So, it’s ALL GOOD. The scrapbook is working its way through the FedEx sorting facility in Incheon, South Korea. Now let’s all just pray real hard that it will breeze through customs without a hitch. As Rain would say: “We’re so excited!” LOL. You know? He’s really gotta come up with another catch phrase. :-}]

ETA 6/24: Okay, Clouds…according to FedEx, the package has left Anchorage, Alaska now, and is in the air and headed to South Korea. Yay! (Oh, by the way…Happy birthday, Ji-Hoon.) :-}]

[The scrapbook has left the building, folks! Yes, the scrapbook has left the building! And for those of you who just aren’t getting it, that means that Rain’s scrapbook is now on its way to South Korea! Yes, Stephe joined me for lunch this afternoon and we ran over to FedEx’s World Center (FedEx World Center…don’t you just love how that sounds???) and said bon voyage to our favorite star’s precious birthday scrapbook.
Actually, I think we freaked the counter clerk a little, because even after we finished our transaction, we refused to leave until she had actually put the airbill on the box and put it with the other packages headed for the plane. The problem was after she had waited on us, she laid the airbill and invoice on the box and turned to help somebody else. All I could think was, you are not DONE until the identifiers for that box are cemented onto that cardboard, my friend. By the time she had helped two more people and the label STILL wasn’t adhered to our box, both Stephe and I were trying very hard not to glare at her.
Finally, after she had cleared out the entire lobby of customers, she turned and saw us and was like, “Um…do you ladies need something else?” And I was like, “Um, yeah. I wanna see you put that airbill on that box and then put it over there with the other packages. So, we’ll know it’s really on its way to our recipient.” I then proceeded to tell her how special that book was, how people from all over the world had contributed to it and how I wanted to make damned sure that it got to where it was going.
{*Stephe here. The whole time I was either throwing out thug looks OR pacing and growling at the woman like a caged lion. I mean my gawd. Put the labels on the package before they get separated or lost and I have to THROW DOWN UP IN THIS MUG. This is for RAIN. Do you mind. ^@@^ Poor thing, she was a really nice lady and she just didn’t realize who she was dealing with, that’s all. And she was like, “Rain?” *brain turns over* “Ah.” 😀 }
LOL. Of course, she thought we were a little whacko. Still, she let us watch her slap that airbill onto that box and put it on the pile anyway. That’s all that matters. :-}
FedEx’s tracking is now showing the package as “in transit.” We will keep you posted here on its progress. Terri :-}]

Okay, CloudUSAers! As we’re sure you’ve read in the headline to this post, Rain’s birthday scrapbook is pieced together, buttoned up, polished and shined up like new money and ready to go. We are done, finished, finis. Talk about a labor of love! Your submissions were amazing—the work that you all put into your pages and messages to Rain left us pretty speechless at our scrap booking party last night. And we were determined to do those submissions (and Rain) justice by crafting the very best project we possibly could.
So… after a straight eight hours, bleary eyes, aching backs, starving bellies, and glued-together fingers, we ended up with the 52-page finished product in Terri’s wonderful slide show (below) at about four in the morning. And we even managed not to kill each other. (“You’re putting too much bling on that!” ^@@^ * “Am not! Will you shut your yap?” ;-} * “Are too! It’s making my stomach shift!” ^@@^ * “Well, you’ve got a point, that is a bit overwhelming…” :-} * “Actually, it’s kind of cute! Aww.” ^@@^ * “Okay, I’m leaving it.” :-})
From 3 am on, I began cautiously watching the doors to the dining room in the hopes that Terri’s family wouldn’t wake up, find me still there, and throw me out into the dark, crime-ridden streets of Atlanta. We also listened for any commotion at the front door, which would mean my family had sent out a search-and-rescue squad to track me down and drag me to safety. But everything stayed cool and quiet, and by 4:30, Terri was finally scarfing down some much-needed breakfast (homemade fruit salad, actually. Boy, was it yummy! :-}) and I was on my way home to some much-needed food and to crash myself.
The next stop will be our reliable FedEx World shipping center near Terri’s work (Yay! Long lunch break! Ruby Tuesday’s okay, Stephe? :-}), where we will personally ship the scrapbook off to our contact in South Korea. We have secured a delivery method by which we are pretty sure your hard work will get to Rain. So, no worries there. We’ll keep you updated on the shipment and its progress in this post as well.
Here are the pictures, from beginning to end! Isn’t the book spectacular, with its textured brocade cover? The transparent sleeves are all open at the top, so that Rain can pull pages, cards, and messages out for a better look. Do you see your submission in there? Aww. 🙂
Thanks to those of you who sent us munchies and encouraging notes and little gifts—we love them!—and voluntarily helped with the postage costs. And thanks to you all for making this project a stupendous success. You’re simply the best.

I just saw my page in the book and it literally brought me to tears… Ladies, hats off. You did a wonderful wonderful job. Thank you for putting this together and “sacrificing” (is it really sacrifice when you love what you’re doing sooo much?lol) time and sleep to give this great gift to this great man we all love sssoooo much. Thank you for giving us the chance to express that love and making it possible for him to see and feel that love. Sorry for going on and on. Yeah So glad it is in Korea and will soon be at it s destination. Hope how soon he let’s us know how he likes it. It is exciting and he will recognize how much time and love went into it. That’s something more valuable than buying something. It was an excellent idea to do a scrapbook and to have so many fans contribute to be able to express their love and well wishes for Rain. I really think it is a very impressive gift .

LOL.. well, for a start, I tried not to be too creative with my user name.. all my accounts have “riverwood” in it e.g. CloudRiverwood(the big sister), RiverwoodCloud, RainRiverwood, RiverwoodRain and the latest being… RiverwoodJiHoon ROFLMAO! The only odd one is AussieCloud. Don’t know what I was thinking there. And each one follow the other. So if one retweets, the others get the tweets and can re-retweet and so on.
Confused yet? LOL. Now, don’t go and tweet to any other accounts but the big sister one, cos they only ever wake up to trend or vote for Rain related projects.

but even though i didn’t participate in this project it was so exciting just watching it develop. this book and every contribution is so full of love it’s just emotionally moving to look through all the pages and read the efforts you ladies put into completing it.
i can just picture JiHoon’s face and imagine what he will be feeling while he goes through this expression of love from CloudUSA. just EXCELLENT everybody.

Sighhh I hope it gives our Baby Boo something to cherish while he is in MS. We have to do another one next year and keep doing it every year from now on.
