[Clouds, here’s another last minute update for you. All I can say is you ladies are incredible.
Dulcie, we finally got your “Canada Loves Rain Too!” page, as well as the lovely Canadian souvenirs: Canadian flags, key-chains, pins, and bandanas. How cute and how sweet of you! Thank you kindly.
Aloha, J.J.! We also want to thank you for your kind words about Cloud USA and for the 8 boxes of Hawaiian Host Chocolate-covered Macadamia Nuts, sent directly from Hawaii! Yes, that was E-I-G-H-T. Not a typo. OMG. The Cloud USA staff is about to be in total heaven. And of course, we got your page via e-mail earlier today. So, you’re all set.
Kpopmum, we received your additional 2 pages of breathtaking graphic art. Absolutely gorgeous! We wish we could read Hangul enough to know what it says though. Maybe someday? 
Katie (Purplezest) you’ve outdone yourself with your fabulous 2 pages. I got them via e-mail earlier and printed them out on photo paper and all I could say was WAH.
And Vickie, from Cedar Hill, Texas, we got your sweet, sweet card too.
The only sad note is that we still haven’t gotten your card, Diva. :-{ We haven’t a clue why it is taking this long to get to us. Stupid postal system. Do you want to send us another one tomorrow? If you do, please let us know and we will WAIT for it.
After all, we have been told that Rain receives a ton of cards, letters and gifts for his birthday. Too many, in fact. We’ve also been told that J.Tune would likely share instructions on how and where to send all of Rain’s birthday gifts. And we haven’t seen anything from them yet, either. So, we’re sort of thinking that it may be better to wait a bit and be a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a huge ocean–if you get our drift.
So. There you go. There’s your quick update. Well, okay, not so quick, but still.

The project deadline has now past. If you’d still like to send us a message or a page via e-mail to print out and add to the book, that would be fine, but we wouldn’t recommend sending any more items via postal carrier, because it may not make it to us in time for our shipment to Rain. We plan on having our assembly party sometime tomorrow, so if you hurry and get something to us soon, we should be able to squeeze it in.
The scrapbook itself is an album covered with satin damask, with black flock designs on it. It actually is a LOT prettier in real life than the image on the right, but I wanted to give you an idea of the “look” anyway. Hope you like it.
We plan to take pictures of all of the pages before we send them out, like we did with the Christmas Box project, so that everyone will get to enjoy the pages together. We’re getting excited over here. How about you? :-} ^@@^

[*ETA 5/26: Okay. We have 150 blog subscribers, 132 forum members, 562 Twitter followers, 2,201 facebook readers, and our blog gets 75,000 page views a month. And so far we have received only 10 pages for Rain’s scrapbook? (Yes, I said TEN.) Since MARCH. Hmph. Rain will be SO thrilled. *Terri & Stephe roll their eyes*
Seriously. What is going on, Clouds? What are you all waiting for? The deadline is June 10. That’s 22 days from now. Lack of creativity is not an excuse, because you can always send a card if you can’t come up with an idea for a page. And if you don’t want to do that, you can even send an e-mail for us to include in the package.

Last year around this time, Cloud USA was barely two months old, not to mention busy running around covering Rain’s Lotte concert, Nikon exhibit, 2010 Green Planet Award wins, street wrestling and Shanghai Expo performances, and freaking out over his CosmoMen cover and Back To The Basic teasers. By the time we remembered his birthday (sometime during his hypnotic B2TB comeback stages), there wasn’t enough time to get a birthday project together. So we decided to just wait until the next one… and that time is HERE.

Announcing Cloud USA‘s From Our Hearts To Yours Rain birthday project! We are putting together a birthday scrap book for our favorite mega-entertainer.
Lots of gifts are great and all, but sometimes it’s even nicer to have something portable from your fans that you can take along to the office sometimes, or that might take away the boredom of traveling, or that might make a nice conversation piece on your coffee table at home. That’s why we like this idea, that and it gives you all a chance to bring a smile to JiHoon’s face with your creative personalities. It’s more about things straight from the heart rather than anything expensive.

PLEASE READ this ENTIRE post very CAREFULLY!
Eligibility:
This project is open to any Rain fan, anywhere. If you love Rain, you’re in.
What to send:
• ONE 12 inch X 12 inch scrap book page of your own making on regular paper, card stock, vellum, patterned paper, transparencies, etc. No poster board, as it’s too heavy. No newspaper or other such papers where the ink may naturally run or smear.
• Whatever you’d like to paste onto your page… go for it! Birthday cards, pictures, post cards, letters, poems, stickers, stamps, all types of scrap booking embellishments… show JiHoon your decorative spirit in wishing him a Happy Birthday. If you’re an artist, you can draw something. If you’re a writer, you can write something. If you’re a photographer, you can shoot something. If you’re a quilter, you can quilt something (like your favorite square). Get the drift?
• There is no color scheme. Please use whatever colors you prefer. (FYI: Though JiHoon seems to really like blacks, silvers, and reds, and The Cloud‘s official color is silver (as Rain and J.Tune requested), and Cloud USA‘s official color is the hue of a silver lining, there’s nothing wrong at all with us sending him a rainbow.)
• Be cute. Be creative. Be clean. (Even if it kills you. Haha.) If you’ve never scrap-booked before, don’t worry. It can be anything from very simple to highly embellished. It doesn’t have to be perfect or look a certain way. It just has to be YOU.
• Please leave a 1-INCH MARGIN all around the edges of your page, as 1) we will be punching holes on the left side in order to put your pages in the scrap book and 2) the closer your items are pasted/glued to the page’s edge, the more likely they might snag on something. DO NOT PUNCH HOLES in your page, as we haven’t chosen a specific scrap book yet and cannot tell you how many holes will be required.
• Put either your name or your username somewhere on your page. AND please include a separate note for us with your name and username and location, for our records.
• Please make sure that you protect your page well when when you ship it to us. We would hate to see anyone’s hard work damaged in transit!
• NOTE: Anyone who wishes to simply submit a regular birthday card by mail can do so; don’t forget to include a separate note for us with your name and username and location, for our records. We will paste these cards onto additional pages in the scrap book.
DO NOT use:
• unusually bulky or messy items
• materials that cannot be securely pasted or glued down
• perishable foodstuffs (NO candy, chocolate, cookies, etc.)
• fragile items
Deadline: Friday, June 10, 2011.
Please send your scrap book page as early as you can to allow us adequate time to bind them all and ship them off to South Korea. The book will be mailed that following week. Any pages received after the deadline will NOT be included and the sender will be contacted to coordinate return shipping, in case you wish to send it yourself.
We will compile all the pages and put them in an order that is aesthetically pleasing presentation-wise, to the eye. We will also include a page in the book with all of the contributors’ names.

I love the scrapbook, it’s great. How did you make the nameplate? Well, this was a project i really enjoyed taking part in as I missed last years due to wrk schedules and being just way too tired. But this year Rain gave me energy i needed. I do hope he will send a thank you note or video to say thanks. But even so…just a look at that smiling dimpled face will be enough for me.
Well done to everyone for their efforts and donations. We can all go and have a celebratory drink on his birthday…great excuse for a Rainy night birthday special!

@ BiAlamode girl I love Houston been there several times, the brothers are such gentlemen I never had to pay for anything while being there, and unlike Minneapolis they do it just cause your a lady and don’t hang on you like they own you for the night. Its a huge beautiful city. But yaw got some serious ROACHES! damn hahaha their huge! My brother lived there for a year and one of my best friends is from there.

Just what I always wanted my hometown to be remembered for. (BIG SMILES). Yeah, that’s the joy of living in the HOT SOUTH. We’ve been in a drought right now and for the past month very little to no rain and all this week temps at 99 to over 100 degrees, so the creepy crawlers just might knock on your front door like that Orkin commercial….No Joke! We (actually Hubbie) have to get on “insectiding” inside and outside early on in the year so no real “invasions” occur. Also, it doesn’t matter what part of town you live in either. They are big enough to slap you and your Mama! (SMILES)
But thank you for the compliments to my hometown, I think it’s a pretty cool place to live but of course I’m a “little” biased. (SMILES) Also, our other Cloud sister Ceci is here too! I haven’t been to your neck of the woods yet, but hopefully when I begin to “get my travel on” like I really want to, I can stop by and say hello. (SMILES)

I haven’t been back since my father (who is now deceased) moved back to Houston in the early 2000’s. Yes, I “fell in love” with cheese steak sandwiches there as well…….(SMILES). Hey, even though I don’t have blood family there anymore, I wouldn’t have a problem taking a trip to meet/see my new Cloud family. (SMILES) What I do remember is since I’m from Texas, I was “shell shocked” coming to PA in the winter. The winter cold cut through my rear like a Ginsu knife. (SMILES).
Diva, what I loved about Philly was the usual “touristy” areas…….Betsy Ross’ house, Independence Hall, the U.S. Mint (if I remember correctly) and Ben Franklin’s grave site. Yes, I’m geeky like that . (SMILES) As far as New York goes, I’ve been to Times Square only once. I wanted to get to Broadway, but never did. You ladies were really lucky to have Rain in your midst recently. (SMILES) So Cool!………………………….

New Hope is so cool… I also love downtown Philly. It’s so eclectic and cool. I wouldn’t mind living there. It’s kind of got that New York feel to it without the NYC craziness. Don’t get me wrong… I love NYC but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Of course, my family got over it once they realized that what they thought was temporary insanity was merely a past-time and that it simply wasn’t going to go away. Well that and I was still working and buying groceries and paying the rent–that helped a lot too. :-}

I might mail you guys a card too. I have a question though. Will you guys be removing the envelope it comes with when you paste it in the scrapbook or should I send the card to you guys in an mailing envelope with the card+its envelope inside sealed? I just dont want to junk up the envelop with addresses and stamping if its going in as a unit in the scrapbook.

Our plan is to remove the cards and mount them separately on pages in the scrapbook, so that he can just page through and touch and read everything… we hadn’t planned on including the envelopes.

It’s very difficult to figure out what a person with plenty of money might like to keep around and enjoy for himself. I mean, seriously, what do you buy a billionaire who has more than he really needs?
Well, there’s one thing that money can’t buy, and that’s love. So, I’m hoping that the heartfelt thoughts expressed in this book will mean enough to him that he will keep the book on his coffee table and thumb through every now and then, after he’s had a hard day’s work.
Maybe it will remind him that all of his hard work really IS appreciated and that he is truly loved.
That’s the plan, anyway.

It took me forever, there were so many to choose from. I think I stood there in that store for about an hour and a half, trying to decide and then I had to choose other embellishments I thought we might use.
I don’t think I have the patience for scrapbooking as a hobby. Wow. Back in my day, scrapbooking was simple. You chose either a green, black or brown cover and stuck some adhesive corners on the page and threw on the pictures.
Now it’s a career. LOL.

I know exactly what you mean. When I was picking out my supplies, my friend, who came with me, just stood there at the entrance to one of the scrap booking isles and stared with this horrified look on her face. I asked her if she wanted to help me pick stuff out and she was like, “uh uh, I think I’ll just stay right here, thanks!” It was a very daunting prospect!

You may need scissors to open it… (used the wrong sized envelope. -_-‘ they were expensive…) it didn’t exactly fit right & gave me a little bit of a hard time lol but it should be fine.

Some of these boxes have been interestingly wrapped and very difficult to open–some of them were like safes, I swear. LOL.
But I’ve managed so far and they are all now in a nice little stack in my room, ready and waiting for our scrapbooking party. Stephe and I plan to do our page that day together.
Should be fun, but I sure do hope she brings all of her creativity with her, ’cause I’m not what you’d call “crafty,” you know–well, not in the “arts” sense, at least. LOL.

I was just thinking (I know, something I should try to do more often….Smile) and I’ve decided that Bi probably always looks at the mail he gets from the West especially. Since we are the market he is trying to break further into. So any mail JTune gets from the U.S. and other western countries, he probably opens/peruses first. I’m not saying he doesn’t see/read/appreciate his mail/gifts from his Asian fans, but he already knows they love him. He is probably still trying to gauge how deep the admiration goes in the West. Then a “bone-chilling” thought crept into my head. He probably visits this site quite a bit, cause the U.S. market is the door he’s trying to knock wide open, what better way to gauge that than to read what his U.S. Clouds are saying about him (*Hehehehehe*). He will probably continue to monitor this blog throughout his military service too (Just to keep “abreast” of things in the U.S.). Yeah Ladies, this means he’s read the Banana thread, the Nips thread, the Jeans thread, the “V” thread, Oh Lord…..the GIF’s thread (*fanning self*) and any other thread/post with the word(s) HOT/SEXY/THIGHS/BOOTY/THRUST in it………Mercy!!! (SMILES)
I quake at the “oh so careless” comment I made many months ago…….Honey is the word that comes to mind….I was banned from all jars by one of my Cloud sisters. So Bi has definitely read some Eye-popping stuff! (SMILES)

Our intention is not to scold anyone or make anyone feel bad. It’s just that it is extremely disappointing for us to know that our site is showing such large numbers and yet, when we give Rain’s fans a chance to prove they are here, they do nothing. Nothing at all.
It happened with the Christmas Box too. Even though we ended up with a nice, large box of gifts to send Rain, the number who participated in that project was still an extremely small percentage of Cloud USA’s membership. It was a lovely percentage, but nonetheless, small.
I just don’t get it. Do we want him to do a concert tour over here or not? Do we want him to make movies for us? If we do, then we’ve GOT to show him the numbers. He’s not going to come over here to the States and attempt to engage his fans if he doesn’t think there are any fans to engage.
So, Clouds, please. As Rain would say, let’s make some noise!

I’m gonna “let her rip” this week as well. I hope mine doesn’t look too silly. It’s funny, my grandmother used to scrapbook all the time, but I never did. That sounds like a very cute idea, but it won’t work for this project. We’ve predetermined the size of the package and only set aside a certain amount of postage, and we expect a lot of stuff just with everybody doing 1 page, and your idea doesn’t sound huge but no doubt 10 to 20 pages from one person is going to be pushing it. Also, if we let you do that, and then someone else wants to do it to and we say no, then they’ll say we’re not being fair or we’re playing favorites or something. That wouldn’t be cool. *sigh*
Please just send 1 scrapbooked page or a birthday card for Rain for this project if that’s what you’d like to do… and remember, if you want to do your 10-20 page mini scrapbook for him too, you can do that and send it straight on to Rain @J.Tune yourself. That’s not a problem! You’re in the Cloud USA community, but you or anyone can send Rain stuff on your own any time you wish. 🙂 You know how much the man loves gifts and surprises! haha

Well, I did mine basically on Ji Woo. Why? First, coz I loved what he did with his characterization of Ji Woo and I feel that he thinks that people didn’t like it for the ratings the series got. I wanted to lifts his spirit with that page besides the happy birthday thing. I thought that it’s going to be awesome for him to know that a fan from Puerto Rico (where’s that place again?, lol!!) love Ji Woo. It’s my way of thinking; I could be wrong. I think that if you concentrate on what you love more about Rain it’s easier to do your page. Hope this helps!! 😀

Hi girls!!!
I am almost done with my page but I have a little problem and it’s that the back of the page got wrinkles wherever I used glue. I was thinking of pasting another page in the back. It’s not gonna be bulky and is a beautiful page with a beach from Puerto Rico. I am going to glue only the edge of both pages so it don’t get wrinkles. You can write my info there if you want. What do you think?

Is this about him or us? both sides or one side? do you use fabric or paper? Are these like photo albums that you put flat stuff in? and/or should it be a mixture of him and us, and do we put pictures in it? really I’m lost? however we do have a craft store. Oh and is their a specific size?

Some people use both sides, but the more common way is one side for less bulk. Use paper for your actual page, and you can either put more paper or fabric or whatever you’d like on it. It should be you wishing him a happy birthday, however you think it would bring a smile to his face, or give him a warm-and-toasty. It could be you, your peeps, your family, where you live, it could be him, his peeps, something about Seoul, it could be something as simple as your favorite birthday poem on a page. There don’t have to be pictures at all. It could be your favorite recipes. It could be a painted message. Whatever. There is no right or wrong, which is why we chose this. So everyone would have fun and each page he turned would be like a new treasure to JiHoon.
The page size we’d like is 12 x 12 (12 by 12).

I never scrapbooked before but it sounds like a cool idea. Would it be a good to include postcards from your home state or something to do with your culture? What does everybody think? Any experienced scrapbookers have tips?
