*flails* Well this story actually begins on Sat 23rd Jan at 1am!! (so technically it was sunday lol) This is the time when I heard that Rain was going to make a public appearance in London at the MCM store. I managed to find the official Facebook page which confirmed this information, so then OMG I totally freaked out! I mean the whole can’t breathe light-headed OMG I AM GOING TO MEET RAIN FEELING!
After hearing this news I ’ran’ to Terri to shout at her if it was true and we deduced it was seeing as he does work for MCM, so then I freaked out more. I booked train tickets then sorted out my CloudUSA Press pass and started to get everything ready for Tues, so throughout Saturday and Monday all I did was spazz for Tuesday haha.
Everything I took, CloudUSA press pass, CloudUSA business cards and my Rain’s world album! which common I couldn’t not take (double negative GO ME!) – you know, just in case he would sign people’s stuff.
The event at first was supposed to be happening from 4-6pm but then apparently that clashed with Rain having to leave the country, so they hung whether Rain was actually going to be at the event for about a day, then on Monday afternoon finally confirmed he would be there from 2-3pm. thankfully my train was at 10.57am and I would get there about 12.15pm so PHEW! Annoyingly they also added the clause that you HAD to buy the rucksack which cost £365 ($580) for the medium bag and £475 ($755) for the large bag which, well, no one had that kind of money but we could still see him going in and out of the store (because the shop had no back entrance) so I was definitely still going!
I was in contact with Jang-Ho Kwon who worked at the MCM Store and he was giving me lots of information and helped me a HUGE amount, so thank you to him.
OK, now skipping forward to Tuesday!
Got on the train and flailed and listened to who else but Rain all the way to London – here is a nice photo I took of St Pancras station in London. It’s hugely impressive if you have never seen it in person before! A photo never does it justice!
My flatmate and I then had lunch, well, a very quick-lunch because neither of us were at all hungry so then we brought the tube ticket and were on our way to the MCM Store, which we arrived at about 1pm. There were a few people lined up but we went to the door to see if we could chat with Kwon (who said it should be ok to chat to him before the event) but it was the mean lady at the door, and I don’t think she fully understood me, so just decided to try and find him after, so we went to join the line.
At this point I was going insane with happy fangirl spazzing and flailing and making a whole host of odd noises! Well like all the girls+guys in the line! Haha, everyone was having fun outside and chanting bi rain saranghae among other things, it was a lot of fun to meet other clouds and everyone was extremely friendly.
We also got told at this point that Rain wanted to meet as many fans as possible so you didn’t need to buy an item to get in. I wasn’t fully believing this and my suspicions were confirmed when they later said to meet him you need to buy an item from the store – the cheapest thing in the store was £85 ($135) which was an iPhone case.
After a while think around 1.30pm maybe the official photographer turned up, he was really nice. He took Video and photos of everyone outside which, when we asked, he said it was for the MCM website so gotta keep an eye when they post that up!
He was asking questions about Rain and about concerts which everyone replied HE NEEDS TO DO A CONCERT IN THE UK!!! haha, which yes he really does. Tthis was all recorded so it should show up at some point (hides in the corner). He talked to us for a while. Glad he was nice, you can get some very un-interested photographers but he was awesome. I feel bad that I didn’t manage to catch his name.
A lot of the staff from the store kept coming out and taking photos too! I would imagine it was all the staff that came due to the amount there at once, which I don’t blame them! If you work there and just happen not to be working that day turn up anyway! lol.
We were lined up along the road Rain would be turning up on and of course there was a lot of different cars driving by and because this is the rich/posh part of London A LOT of nice cars with blacked out windows were driving by. Rain finally turned up at 2.30pm (30mins late mind but he stayed 30mins after he should have left to make up for it!) His car of choice, a HUGE white stretch limo! The King of Kpop knows how to turn up in style! And I expected no less!
The limo sat in a queue of cars for a while (due to the traffic lights) then finally the cars in front drove off so I managed to get a photo of the front of the limo! At this point EVERYONE in the line was screaming and shouting and going all out fan girl because we all knew that in a matter of SECONDS the man we had been waiting years to see AND NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN IN THE UK! would be getting out of THAT limo! At this point I was wondering omg wonder what he chose to wear ahhhh I was so freaking flailing! May I point out how hard it is to take video and photos AND spazz at the same time! OMG. The limo slowly pulled forward so the door was just across from us! and STOPPED!
My heart was beating A MILLION times a second at this point! Then the door opened the fan girls (including me) went even more insane and screaming and shouting his name! He walked towards the entrance door but then started shaking people’s hands and walking up the line towards us.
I spazzzed and had to swap my phone into my other hand so I could shake his (which is why there is a skip in the video—I edited out my finger being over the lens lol. He went up the line to the end then walked back down again to go into the store.
His outfit was AMAZING!!! Even more awesome then I expected and his hair looked great! And he was wearing some awesome sunglasses! *also points to the practically nakey girly on his shirt* [You know, Katie, I’m SHOCKED no one has mentioned the naked woman yet! Must all be looking either up at his face… or downtown. ROFL! — Stephe ^@@^] When he got out I didn’t even notice the shirt due to the fact I was spazzing and flailing and shaking his hand and staring at his amazing beauty in real life! But when I looked back at the video and pictures I was like well I didn’t see that LOL.
Having Rain THAT CLOSE to me was AMAZING, his hands were manly yet soft and warm which made me just want to snuggle in them! He was smiling and waving and trying to shake everyone’s hand. As you can see from the video of Rain walking down the line he practically had NO BODYGUARD!!!
Lol Yes the dude was following him down the line but more or less the fans could have dived on him but they all stayed well controlled. So proud of all the UK clouds for not diving on him which meant he could walk down and see everyone more freely which also means a more enjoyable time for him. XD
Everyone more or less stayed in the line – it’s true no country can cue like we do HAHA. He then walked back up waved then went into the store. Then the next stage of insane spazzing started! They let a few people in the shop at this point and I had decided for £85 I was NOT gonna miss out on meeting Rain so I went in much earlier, I think, than most people due to, I think, most people were still deciding if they should spend the money to meet him and get something signed.
MEETING RAIN!
So when I went down, it was just me and some of the MCM Staff who just stood there staring at him. I did wish they would have talked to him. He was just standing there – prob thinking the same thing lol, but he looked so adorable! He had his sunglasses off so you could see his amazing eyes! Ahhh his eyes and lips WERE TO DIE FOR!!! OMG IN REAL LIFE THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I just wanted to reach forward and touch them but I thought better of it HAHA.
He is the height he says he is! No lying there – seeing as I have been asked a few times if he was actually that tall! SO YES RAIN IS ACTUALLY THAT TALL!!! FREAKING PERFECT HEIGHT!!! Also I have been asked about his weight… HE WASN’T SKINNY HE WASN’T CHUBBY HE WAS PERFECT!!! He really does look fine and huggable, you could just slip your hands under his jacket and snuggle in close to his chest and stay there forever! You could see the muscles through his jacket too which made me spazz even more!
Ok now I know it’s not just me that thinks OHHHHH what does he smell like. I didn’t smell any cologne but he smelt HOMELY [USA folks, that means so fresh and so clean in England-speak, the way your home should smell. Get it? Home + ly. — ^@@^]. Ok yes, that sounds very odd does it not, but that’s the only word of I can think of to describe it, he clearly hadn’t worn any so it was just him and he smelt very nice!
Ok, back to me in the basement with Rain – I got slightly sidetracked describing him lol.
Well, I walked forward and I said hi and so did he. Then he said, “What’s your name?” to which of course I replied “Katie” and “I’m from CloudUSA.” And he looked at my ID badge and went “ahhhhh yes,” then smiled, quite a huge smile which was SO AMAZING SO CLOSE! I handed him my Rain’s world Album and said to him that I hope he is having a nice time in London and he replied “yes” nodded then smiled again. I also mentioned I loved his new hair style which he went “oh thanks” with another smile. At this point I was SO drugged up on Rain’s smile, so I didn’t pick up on him pointing at the other item I had with me! so he said “ohhh do you want me to sign..” and pointed at the MCM item I just brought – don’t even think he knew what it was LOL (an iPhone case)… to which I was like “Ah yes, if you wouldn’t mind.” So he opened the box and got it out then said “Where abouts?” I replied “Anywhere,” then FULLY stared at him as he signed it!
I was trying to take everything in. OMG, the feeling was overwhelming, my legs were turning to jelly! Also at this point (yes it did take me a while) I realised I was the only fan down here with him haha, so I had plenty of time and he didn’t seem to be in any rush. He then said something else which I can’t fully remember [No surprise there ROFL! ^@@^] I think it was something like “nice to meet you”… can’t be 100% sure I was so high on Rain, my ears were not working fully! He is so softly spoken. I was just imagining as I stood there how amazing his singing live must be if his voice alone while talking is this hot and sweet! So the next stage is to hear him live on stage! *flails*
He then said “Thank you for coming” and held out his PERFECT hand again which I had already touched and shook outside when he came in, so I was in shock that I got to do it again. AHHHH his hand was so soft and warm and perfect, he smiled again as I shook his hand – he really did seem to be enjoying himself which I loved… I then slowly exited the basement, looking back at him as I went up the stairs… he was just standing there perfectly smiling to himself. At this point my legs really did turn to jelly. OHHHHH MY GAWD I REALLY DID JUST MEET TOUCH AND TALK TO RAIN!!!!! *SCREAMS* The official photographer took photos in the basement, but we were not allowed to take photos in the store which is fair! The professional photographer made it more relaxed… they said they shall email the photos to us so YAY.
A few more people went down after me, then they announced Rain would have to leave in 20mins because it was 3.10pm and he was supposed to leave at 3 but because he turned up late he stayed later, which I thought was amazing of him! Hope it didn’t make him late and at this point, due to the queue to pay for items was so long, the women said please get it signed then pay for the item! so a massive queue was formed on the stairs, which went in no time. Then Rain was leaving again, so I jumped up, got my phone ready again and took more video and photos of him leaving!
When Rain got outside, he signed a few more autographs (don’t think he was supposed to due to time restraints but clearly he wanted to, so did!). No stopping him giving his fans some more love XD and it meant more time to stare and bask in his pure beauty and the amazing atmosphere he created when he was around!
He was smiling and talking to the fans which you can hear a little bit on the video I took of him leaving. I am just so happy that he was smiling and chatting so much! He really is amazing! He really did need to leave but stayed a little bit longer to do more autographs.
He was just surrounded by fans, with the dude to his left (our right), but there was no issues. He signed, talked, smiled, then got told dude we REALLY need to go, so he started to head to the limo door.
Isn’t he just perfect!
He then got into the limo, which stayed for a second due to the traffic lights then drove off containing our man! So glad it was a nice event, and I think due to the fact the event wasn’t huge made it even more personal and special and more relaxed. No one got hurt everyone behaved well and looked like Rain had a good time too! Doubt he realised he had this many fans in the UK and this wasn’t even everyone! Due to work and distance issues a lot of people couldn’t make it. This is what the shop window ended up looking like after the event! It was perfect before hand haha – the MCM store made a SERIOUS amount of money in that hour! to say how many people went down and the cheapest item was £85 ($135)… ohhhh the selling power of Rain!

You even get a box and cloth to put it in. O___O Haha, rich people do have some odd extra things when they buy items – this cost £85… didn’t wanna buy it but was the cheapest thing and I couldn’t miss out on seeing Rain!
He was only supposed to sign the MCM items, but it’s Rain, so of course he didn’t mind signing the album I took for him to sign. *FLAILS* This is the thing I wanted him to sign and now it’s signed and it’s mine! AHHHHH SOOOOO HAPPY!
This day has been the BEST FREAKING DAY OF MY LIFE!!!! and I doubt anything in 2011 could ever come close to today!
I met RAIN!!! the guy I have been obsessing over for years. THE KING OF KOREAN POP, the guy I see everyday online and have all his songs! HE CAME TO THE UK AND I TOUCHED, SPOKE AND GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH!!!! I NEVER EVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD EVER HAPPEN!!! I thought in the least it would take several more years and I would see him in Korea or Japan NOT NOW AND NOT IN ENGLAND, BUT I DID!!! IT HAPPENED AND I AM SO STILL ON A MAJOR RAIN HIGH!!!
Now I need a new aim because I was to see Rain in the flesh and that has now happened, so I hope my next meet with Rain will involve him being onstage and me being surrounded by the Clouds I talk to all the time online and who I REALLY wish to meet as much as I wanted to meet Rain! I promise to get a good job and save my ass off so I can complete this wish! because I really want to meet all of you! You clouds have been great and I hope you enjoyed my updates on the day. I couldn’t tweet too much because of signal issues but once I got into the store it was ok, so when you got all the tweets I was sat ABOVE RAIN’S HEAD TWEETING YOU ALL!!! And my phone battery was dying haha. I had to switch it off for most of the day unless it wouldn’t have lasted!

OMG… a dream come true! Wow, you are so fortunate Girl! I had to reread your posting several times, as it feels like I’m in the moment with you. To have someone that I know (someone in “my” Rain family – Cloud USA Rain sister) giving an account of their meeting Wow! And the details you’ve shared are perfect. You were definitely in the moment and trying to catch everything! Thank you for sharing what Rain smelled like, “Homely” (and Thanks Stephe for the USA added details)…. I guess that’s one of my little fetishes (Oops – Ha, Ha, Ha…) in addition to everything else. Can you imagine how Rain must of felt as he was arriving in his limo and seeing all the fans gathered there just for him? I am sure he felt the love. 🙂

I am a woman “of a certain age”, but I would have “PASSED THE HELL OUT” and acted every bit the fangirl….OH I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED your accounting of the day’s events. It TRULY was as if we were there. The staff not talking to him….I don’t know maybe they were instructed not to or maybe they were just star struck as well, all I know is No Way In Hell I’m NOT going to talk to BABY LOVE and he’s right IN FRONT OF ME…..ARE YOU NUTS!!!

Katie Omg that has to be one of the best fan accounts I’ve ever read! I felt like I was watching the entire thing from your perspective and all of you senses were mine! (and I mean that in the least creepiest way possible lol)
And even though I wasn’t there i wont forget it either! I literally had spent my day off watching twitter constantly and spazzing still! Even though I wasn’t there I still felt the excitement because I knew that Rain was going to be (one of?) THE FIRST kpop artsits to hold anything in Europe. And I really hope this continues on because I really believe you all should get some more visits from kpop. I know how it feels when my favorite artists don’t come to my city and it’s not as fun when they don’t. Especially whenbthe closest city is far away. But I digress.

Believe it or not, having a Cloud USA member being that close to Rain, touching him and talking to him makes me feel as if it was me doing it ha ha ha. I was flailing, spazzing along with you the whole while. To be honest, I am still high and have not came down yet.

What can i say is,to Stephe,Katie,Jim & to the staff who work so hard for this videos & pics who was taking during visiting Rain there in U.K.so nice video.You guys meet Rain in personal,how can u guys identify Rain in person,is he really cool & humble in person?About Rain i can figured only in what i see his videous & pictures are:He is great looking,how he dress up was perfect,being an actor,singer & dancer really great thats why i admired him so much.Well,i hope someday i meet Rain also in person & i can shake hands & taking pics w/ Him…lol..hehehe…right now i’m just cntented & happy that bcoz of ur site i can reach some details for Him,right?Thanks…

@Katie also, I want to say your videos were perfect. You really captured how he was feeling. I really had not noticed how much he was smiling. He seemed to really be happy and enjoying himself in the crowd. He basically was leaving the bodyguards behind and went off to mingle with the crowd. He seemed like he wanted to stay longer. I feel Rain should definitely do a concert in London or somewhere in the UK. You guys really showed him love and he felt it.

I felt like I literally was in the basement with you experiencing the pure joy you were living. You answered alot of my questions I had. I too wonder what was on his t-shirt, what he smelt like, and did his lips really look that sexy. I too feel his weight is perfect and you confirmed that. LOL, I was hoping someone would talk about how his crouch looked!!!! Your words “Rain’s crotch in real life is indescribable!!!” is forever stuck in my memory now. Katie, it was so great to read your account,it’s about time that UK/Europe fans got some love from our man! That is our Rain- charismatic, sensual, passionate, gentle, and loves his fans back! I could only imagine what you must have felt since I was lucky enough to be shaken hands with him at a Vegas concert. He is all he can be and much more, so hard to explain until you experience it yourself.
Save big starting now bc attending his concerts should be any Cloud’s dream, and let me tell you, it’s WORTH IT!!!!! trust me on this one. 🙂

Katie you are the luckiest person on earth at this point I must say. And your story just made me so wild with excitement girl! I was hyperventillating in anticipation of what you were about to say in your account. It’s as if I was there beside you as you go along, jumping in my seat with every line you tell about your encounter with Rain. Isn’t it sad though when he left, like you wanted to cry, your chest is heavy and you did not want him to go but you can’t do anything to stop him from leaving. But just to think that you spoke with him and shook his hands twice is something that you treasure forever and add to these, the fact that he signed your items is something that both you and he have shared and so somehow when you see those things he touched you have some connection with him. Don’t you feel that now? I’m overdramatic but hey when it’s Rain we’re talking, I’m too sensitive, I can’t help it. I’ve experienced this myself at the Ninja premiere night. He’s magnetic, overpowering, you’ll just be mesmerized or hypnotized with his persona. Right Katie? Love your account my dear.

What a great accounting of everything that happened! I was “there” with u spazzing that day on twitter and I just felt like I was there with u while reading. I’m so happy for you that u got to meet him finally!!! So awesome… I can’t imagine how u stayed so steady taking the fancams and pics while he was RIGHT THERE …lol. And especially when u were speaking to him. Gah!!! Lolllll @ the banana part!! Now that is a true CloudUSA…hahaaaa. Oh and I love that he seemed to know what CloudUSA was. Very very cool. I’m gonna have to go back and check out the t shirt he was wearing coz I was too busy staring at everything else.
I just have to say: Remember when he was in the Phillipines and people were saying he’s so standoffish and doesn’t like to b touched by his fans??? Yeahhh well I hope those naysayers are looking at all these vids and fancams and eating crow because he seemed perfectly happy to touch and b touched and surrounded by fans. What a sweetheart he is.

I love that you got to meet him in person. I got to go to the oconcert so if you want anything, go pick from the stash and I will send it to you. That stuff is for the Clouds not for me. Do you want the hat? How do you get a CLoudUSA press pass. I would like one if I get to represent you guys in Korea at his stuff..that I can go to. I may just get a job in Seoul if i can’t renew my contract here. Let me see. What do you guys think?

Hey there.
When is your contract up, DN? What would interest you in S.Korea if you weren’t teaching? Would you actually LIKE to stay in there or come on back home, if you had your choice? I’ve always wanted to work in Asia in some capacity, preferably in writing or in S.Korean history (like a museum), so I’m fascinated by that!
Yes, right now press passes are very sparse because we are growing Cloud USA very slowly as far as hired staff go. We’re feeling our way, so to speak. But at some point this year we’re expecting that the need to hire again will come up along the way, and when that happens we’ll definitely be looking back over “Team Cloud” folks who might have the skill set and the drive to fit what it is we need…
(Jim and Katie might yell for everyone to run far, FAR away with a quickness, though, because we can be really labor-intensive. No one will ever say we’re easy to work for LOL! *pssst, not a word you two* At least I’m admitting it)
That’s why I personally like having the Team Cloud tag for special tips, images, etc… so members know that they can submit interesting things when the spirit hits them, get full credit if we use it, but not worry that oh, I have to do this all the time now.
You’re in a really prime location right now. I sure as hell wouldn’t mind being there — gah…! Surrounded by magazines and billboards and ads with Rain, everyday stuff… I would truly have NO life and my equipment would all be DEAD from overuse. ROFL!!!

4 1/2 months, that is why I am looking now. Awww, but I LOVE the kids I teach now, but I need to start my Korean classes and the other classes I want to take area ALL IN SEOUL! Me being 2 hours away kinda hinders things and drains the wallet. I’d rather stay here, as I learn Korean I can get more information here if youneed iton any KPOP artist you want because I know where they all work and some fangirls show me or tell me what is going on if I walk past and ask.
Really? I wasn’t even thiking of getting paid for it. I would ask to send me something I need ever so often, that I can’t get here. Like some pure cocoa butter and coconut oil… and deoderant. ONly time I would ask money is if there was a HUGE package I was sending you guys, and I would need help.
I don’t want to go back home. I refuse to go back to 7.50 an hour. I will work at a hagwon first here or switch countries. I’ll come visit you guys though since Mom is still in GA. I hate driving though. Crap, I need to go back anyway to renew my drivers license. Hey we may be able to meet each other, sinced you lived down the road from me apparently. I wonder how many times we met and didn’t realize we share something in common.
By the way I am making Rain a Lunar New Year Card, do you guys want to sign it?

LOL. There’s no pleasing all of the fans all the time, that’s for sure. Even Cloud USA can’t keep up with all of the requests WE get. So, we can only imagine how Rain feels.
We’ve posted everything current that we have about Rain. And as far as I’m concerned no news is GOOD news, because that means he’s RESTING and RELAXING. I would love it if he would take about 6 months off, but I don’t see how that is going to happen with all he appears to have planned for the year. But we will see.
And no, he doesn’t have his own clothing line any more that we know of. His SixtoFive stores have closed. Something fashion related may be in the works, but we haven’t heard anything through the grapevine about that yet. We will let you know if we hear of anything.
And I love his auburn hair too. It is quite becoming on him.

Ohhh Katie i’m so happy for you. i enjoyed the whole account. You did a great job keeping it together and being to keep your feet on the ground. Awesome job. The crotch comment was hilarious but i’m sure all the clouds including me were thinking the same. Hope to get to meet you in the flesh as well. Awww. What a fantastic account of a fantastic day. I will remember it always. Me at work trying like heck to take breaks whenever I could to spazz at Katie.
Laughing at her finally realizing on the way home what just happened. And her staying up so late in the night to send us the pics and video just so we could have something to share with all of you ladies by this morning when you all woke up.
